• I had my first post op appointment yesterday afternoon and I had so much edema (fluid) around my knee. It really looked awful and the doctor offered to drain it. I don’t like needles much, so I declined. I had so much fluid in there that I had quad lock out, meaning that I couldn’t make my quadriceps muscle contract. I would focus and try to flex my quad to lift my leg off the table, but when I did my brain had rewired things and my hamstring contracted and my leg didn’t move. I was pretty much in the same place this morning, but this afternoon after my first 2 minute cryo therapy session I am no longer locked out. Amazing! Thom N.
