it wasn't worth $110, the pictures are very misleading. It had a slight mildew smell, it wasn't filthy but in my opinion it was nowhere near luxury. Idk I guess I was just expecting more, none the less I enjoyed myself with my boyfriend in the hot tub so I guess that's what counts
the young lady at the front desk was very sweet by the way! Excellent customer service!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria M.Bayview-Hunters Point, San Francisco, CA032Mar 10, 2025
The ambiance is very clean, quiet, relaxing, and romantic. I'm glad I discovered this hidden gem.

I came to Zen Springs pre-Covid and it was fantastic! Post Covid not so much!
I came here for my birthday and was so disappointed! I came in earlier in the day and paid ahead of time for a VIP room. The young lady who helped me was very polite, the customer service was good for me before so i didn't expect anything different. My boyfriend and I arrive around 845 for out 1.5 hours session. When we first got in the room we connected our phones to the bluetooth speak (its built into the ceiling, before it was a bluetooth speaker/clock) and began filling the tub. We got the heat to the perfect temperature and got in. While in the tub we noticed HAIR!!! Straight, stringy hair we knew the hair wasnt ours because my boyfriend has locs and i have curly hair. So we drained the tub and pulled the hair out of the filter, i decided that i wanted to wipe the tub down just to be safe. I wipe out the jets and everything, THEY WERE FILTHY!!! I believe there was a total of 6-8 jets and THEY WERE DISGUSTING! I booked for a hour and a half we spent a total of about 30mins in the tub before we saw the hair. Once we cleaned the jets we tried getting back in but just felt like we were sitting in someone else's dirt! I wish they would go back to the cleanliness it was before Covid. The girl at the front desk told me she would have management contact me but its been almost a month and no one has reached out to me AT ALL! I have no intention on returning here. I recommended so many people here too! Smh, PLEASE DO BETTER!!!Helpful 22Thanks 8Love this 2Oh no 13 - Megan D.Oakland, CA031Nov 25, 2023
Booked a reservation online. No one was there. Called the number in the phone several times. No answer.
Bummer because it was the first time my partner and I tried to get away from the kids since the new baby was born. Which takes no small amount of orchestration.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - Michel D.SoMa, San Francisco, CA011Feb 16, 2022
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, DISGUSTING AND JUST GROSS.
Do yourself a favor, don't go if you don't like germs, and Google this word: "Kitschy" -- That about sums it up. Their tubs are disgusting and don't work, and they make sure you can't get your money back.
Read the recent negative reviews and save your money. I should have done exactly that. This has to be one of the worst ever experience I've had with a business, and hands down one of the worst hot tub places in the Bay Area. If I could give this place a 0-star, I definitely would. There's a reason this place has spots always widely available and not booked solid for weeks like the other/better options in the area, which also happen to be much cheaper.
TLDR -- The lady at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. The owner though (middle age Asian gentleman) is the absolutely worse -- He took our money even though they couldn't provide us with any service because the tubs were broken ... Aso, they're NOT hot tubs! They are repurposed bathtubs that you have to spend about a half-hour filling up yourself ...
From the moment we arrived, we knew this was a bad decision (old, run-down building, questionable cleanliness and vibe), the rooms look nothing like the pictures, but we're willing to give it a shot. We had booked an hour and had to pay in advance. They showed us the tub room, gave us some instructions on how to fill the tub ourselves, and left. We start filling the tub, aware that it might take a while ...
30 minutes in (halfway through into our time), we're still waiting for the tub to fill, and there's only about 6 inches of water. The best of all, it's cold freezing water! Read previous reviews and you'll see people complaining about the exact same things. The owner knows about this and makes sure you can't get your money back (see attached picture).
Eventually, we decide this isn't worth it and got our belongings to get a refund to leave, without wetting a finger. The owner refused to issue us a refund ($130) and we just left furious, and now I'm writing my first ever Yelp review. It was that bad! We filed a complaint and disputed the charge with the credit card company to get the money back.Helpful 21Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 2Business owner information

We appreciate your feedback, but we must address the inaccuracies and inappropriate behavior displayed during your visit. It is extremely disrespectful to behave in the manner you did and we had no choice but to involve law enforcement.
As per our spa policy, appointments must be cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice to avoid being charged in full. Same-day appointments are final sale, and refunds are not possible. When you booked online, you agreed to these terms and paid the invoice in full.
Upon arrival, we asked you to inspect and approve the room, which you did not find any issue with. We then allowed you to begin your spa session, but you left the room after just 15 minutes and demanded a full refund, claiming that you didn't use the room. We reminded you of our policy, but you continued to demand a refund.
We inspected the room again and found that there was nothing wrong with it. The tub was full and the water was hot, as advertised. However, you claimed that the tub was a bath tub, not a hot tub, and that it was falsely advertised. When we asked you to explain the difference between a bath tub and a hot tub, you claimed that the bath tub was too small to fit two people, which was not accurate. The tub in the room was 5 feet by 4 feet, which is more than enough space for two people.
Despite our attempts to accommodate you by offering you the next room, which had a 6 feet diameter tub that could fit up to 6 people, as well as 15 extra minutes or a full credit for your next visit, you declined all of our offers and insisted on a full refund.
When we reminded you again of our policy, you started yelling and screaming in our lobby, and even harassed other customers who were checking in. This behavior was unacceptable and left us with no choice but to involve law enforcement to remove you from our facility.
We take pride in our spa and our commitment to customer service, and we regret that you did not have a positive experience. However, we cannot condone or tolerate inappropriate behavior, and we will not hesitate to take legal action to protect our business and our customers. - Deja F.Oakland, CA0111Feb 22, 2024
Nice spot, I enjoyed the ambiance. Its kind of a sketchy area so be careful where you park. But I enjoyed myself reasonable price and they didn't rush me out when my time was up Ellie most place seem to do

Not bad for a last minute find. We didn't need an appointment - they accept walk ins, but you do need to request for a room with the sauna if you want that.
We did the spa room for two people ($80), with the sauna ($30), and two towels ($3/each). Total came out to be $116 for the hour. The bottled water at the front is also $3. The service was good and the room felt clean. The room consists of the hot tub, day bed, shower, sauna, and Bluetooth speakers which was nice addition. I also liked that the ceiling above the hot tub had twinkling star-like lights. The only thing I would change is for the room to look more like the Yelp photos (candles, plants, etc). The Yelp photos made it look more intimate and romantic. But nonetheless, it was still decent and a relaxing experience. One hour was just enough time for us, but it does take time for the hot tub to get filled and sauna to get hot. Luckily, they were nice enough to give us an additional 15 minutes, which helped with the prep time. Thank you!! We will be back.Helpful 10Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0
