I was really excited to go to Yoga Lab on New Year's Eve with my family. We booked a class and showed up and the studio was full and even the retail space was completely packed. There was absolutely no space to take the class even though we paid/booked in advance. They overbooked the class, so we weren't able to attend. I can't speak to the class itself, since we couldn't do it. We asked for credits or a refund, and followed up with the studio multiple times and never heard anything. I was excited to try again and give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day. However, the inability to connect with anyone at the studio makes it feel like we just got scammed $25 each.

No star rating. They overbooked the 9am Sunday VinyasaPower Class by a lot and we were left to practice with no more than a fingernail distance between mats. We were asked to move our mats closer three times before the practice started tardy by 5-minutes. There were two dogs roaming the studio; I love dogs but not in a yoga studio. Good thing nobody was allergic. The description for the Sunday VinyasaPower class is not vinyasa nor is it yoga in my opinion. It was an instructor who dropped the "F- word" at least 12 times; I lost count. And he used it in such a negative way, telling those in the room if they didn't like his class than get the "F-word"out. He further belittled yogis from Ohio specifically and when people email the studio to complain the staff pass the emails around making fun of them. It left me feeling disturbed and this type of "yoga" practice is contradictory to the Yamas and Nyamas (i.e.basic yoga principles) that are centric to an authentic yoga practice. The instructor is being allowed to conduct a toxic environment with his belittling, demeaning, and vulgar language as he paid little attention to teaching and guiding a vinyasa practice. Instead he yelled and cussed at his students . He offered very few poses in the sequence and most of the time he blared the music. Deeply disappointed in this studio for many reasons and won't ever return.

I love yoga lab! The instructors are great and workouts are fun. They encourage their community to connect with each other which I think is really nice if you are new to town or just looking to meet people. I don't live in Naples anymore but will be totally visiting anytime I'm back in town.

This class is not really power yoga, it's just a super high energy workout class, cardio but not power yoga

I will say it took taking my third class out of my 3 classes for $30 deal that I found the right teacher worth taking class with . I recommend taking class with Kim Quan!!!! Her flow was by far the best out of the 3 teachers I've taken with . I like to pay credit where credit is due and when you find good yoga teachers with good flows and good energy... share the wealth . She is a gem and worth taking her class!
As FYI. I'm happy to be a paying member of the yoga 3 for $ 30special. I need no refund for the first 2 classes where I was not a fan of the flow taught by the two girls where the flow felt very disjointed in sequence. Sometimes the vinyasa power class has a targeted cardio and an workout versus a well rounded vinyasa flow .Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Yarinet!
I'm Michael, the owner of Yoga Lab. Thank you for leaving your opinion and giving me the opportunity to read it.
We know we're different and we know we're not for everyone. We see that being different is what makes life so extraordinarily wonderful. Different strokes, for different folks. We have very specific philosophies around aspects of yoga that we stand unwavering in. We simply are who we are.
More important to me than anything else, is that anyone who walk through our doors feels at home, not judged, and know they belong to a loving and supportive community. Those who don't, I want in the deepest sincerity to find their yoga home! That being said, I've asked our team to refund your $30 intro special so you have no hard feelings and know that we wish you well in your own personal journey to find the studio that is home.
With kindness and gratitude,
Michael SchaefferAug 16, 2019Previous reviewI will say some of the vinyasa powerflow teachers might have too much energy ... yogis relax and chill. I love the enthusiasm of you living and loving yoga but you can chill too. Yoga here can definitely be about go go go. Some of the energy from teachers may feel like too much and not always genuine.
She is a gem and worth taking her class! . That's why I landed on a 3 star rating ( improvement from my 1/2 rating )
As for the Studio , it is clean, looks trendy and they have cute yoga merchandise . It's visually appealing, but layout of the space, and the cubby holes feels very oddly placed in the walking flow in and out. I will definitely say selling merchandise is definitely a priority by the layout and the amount is it. A big downside for me is no showers and no lockers to lock your stuff. Also , you can only rent a face towel and no yogi mat towels ( helpful tool for those new to hot room yoga and the sweat that comes with the workout )
If you want relaxed chilled vinyasa yoga class were you are trying to challenge yourself as well as focus, meditate , and work on the your inversion practice.... the "vinyasa power" class is not your class. For the more we'll practiced yogi , you have to find those moments in the flow. But then again it comes down to the teacher.
I'm an avid yogi ( 7 yrs in ) and former ballet dancer. I am very aware of my body movement and placement. I will say you are not going to get hands on corrections or always going to get clear directions how to correctly align your body correctly to build strength and appropriate /healthy body alignment. For those new to yoga , just be mindful and don't throw your self into things . There moments where there was a lot of sun salutations and unique balancing where I had to take a personal moment in child's pose to continue with the challenge. Even the yogi that is a regular here are wobbling all over the place . Remember you don't have to do everything the teacher tells you ... listen to your body and be smart yogis here at yoga lab.

Hands down best yoga studio I've ever attended! I did the $30 for 30 days deal and I absolute fell in love with this studio. The atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for. The instructors really do an amazing job to guide the classes and assist anyone if needed. I tried out each class at least once because why not?! I will say that majority of classes are for people who have done yoga before, but you can individually make each class as hard or as easy as you want it to be. I have been practicing yoga on and off for the past 6 years and I brought 2 friends with me who had never done yoga before for a couple classes. They were able to keep up with the flow and follow along with the class. So regardless if you're an advanced yogi or have never taken a class in your life, this place is for you! The classes I was able to make were: VinyasaPower heated at 6:30am, 9:00am, 6:00pm, 7:15pm depending on the day. VinyasaGentle at 10:15am on Saturdays. Yinyasa at 11:30am on Saturdays or 7:15pm on Thursdays. But hands down my favorite and most challenging class to attend was the 9am Sunday sweat. All of the instructors were incredible, but I will say that Jenny Deeley was my favorite because of the was she made each class different and really made people feel like they could accomplish any pose or stretch they tried! If you are going to try a drop in class, I would recommend trying out one of Jenny's classes because you will be in for a real treat!
Insider's tips:
The studio is a long rectangular shape, but can fit about 40-50 people when the mats are almost on top of each other (which they basically are for "The Sunday Sweat" class since it is so popular). There are props available for use like blocks, blankets, and long bolster pillows for free inside the yoga room. Bring your own mat to practice on, but if you don't have one, you can rent one for $5 or $10 at the front desk for each class. (I would recommend purchasing your own mat if you are planning on doing more than one class). If you need yoga clothing, there is a large store part of yoga lab with plenty of trendy pieces to choose from, but take into account that the prices reflect the high quality material.
The whole yoga lab team of teachers and staff are so welcoming and friendly. Going 2-3 times on a weekly basis helps to develop a routine and make friends in the classes. I wish I could keep up and do the $100 per month for unlimited classes, because this whole yoga experience and yogi family is worth it, but I am grateful to have been able to do the $30 for 30 days deal!
If you are on the fence about trying it out or if you are looking to try something new, this is the place for you! Download the yoga lab app on your smart phone so you can look up the class schedule and see times and who is teaching each class. Hope this helps anyone who needs a little push to go or if you need a sign, this is your sign, so go to yoga lab!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 425279506Apr 17, 2016
I went today with a friend to the Yoga Loft in Naples. It was easy to find because just beside the Masa restaurant at the Mercato.
I choose my first class online and selected the Yin Yoga class. Don't ask me why. I don't know. Maybe the name, maybe the time of the class.
I arrived 15 minutes before and entered the Yoga Loft. It's like a boutique shop/hotel.
The staff was at a counter at the entrance.
I asked where I could change and they indicated at the back of the loft.
I changed and entered the class at 11:30AM on Friday. The room was big, the lights were turned off. The smell was good, the atmosphere zen and the ambiance perfect with a relaxing music.
I saw another man in the room, so I was not feeling alone :)
As I'm French, I was a bit concerned to not understand everything because I do not have all the yoga vocabulary. But after few minutes as a beginner, it was really easy, the teacher Lindsay Pirozzi was excellent and relaxing.
When I was not sure about the move, I was just quickly looking in front of me or at my left, and then do it on my side.
The overall class was so relaxing, so nice and so rewarding. I will come back and take a monthly membership. I will go during the week and on Sunday. I felt so well right after. It's perfect.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Dalea H.Davidson, NC010Jan 24, 2020
Yoga Lab is a friendly yoga studio with several types of classes. I attend every year when I come to Florida and love the
Yinyasa classes in particular.
The only disappointment was this year, the Sat. Yinyasa class led by Kaiea was so fast during the vinyasa portion it was difficult to get in proper alignment during the flow. The Yin portion was very relaxing though.
I did enjoy the evening Yinyasa classes and the "not too gentle" Gentle Yoga very much.
The studio has a good spirit and energy about it and I recommend trying it out. The power classes may be more suited for folks who have some yoga experience as they are fast paced. After your class it is fun to wander the Mercato and get an acai bowl.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - ZZ W.Naples, FL3378Nov 21, 2020Updated review
Nice space and good instructors. Why they decided to quadruple their prices during a national crisis is absolutely ridiculous. Yoga shouldn't cost as much as leasing a car! Lots of other better choices in Naples with more down to earth management.
