I love love love this studio! This morning I took Dan's 6:45am - it was lovely- first time taking one of his classes! I used to practice next to Dan almost daily pre-COVID, and he's an awesome teacher! Clear cues, empathetic options, upbeat attitude and supportive adjustments! 10 stars!

I attended the 14 Jan 2018 Candlelit Soul Flow class at 7pm. The class didn't have any candles or soul music, but it was a good class. For once, I felt rather advanced. There weren't a lot of challenging poses, which made the class seamless (for me). It included a lot of stretching. Since class was on a Sunday, stretching was a perfect way to end one week and prepare for the next. Despite the lack of candles and soul music, I'd take it again.
I also attended the 1/2 Price Flow on 15 Jan 2018 with Cole Bennett. I really enjoyed Cole's class. The class was crowded, so there was an overflow room. Cole was really accommodating to everyone's needs. The practice flowed well, was challenging, and the music was appropriate. It is also important to note that the woman at front desk before Cole's class was warm and welcome. It made my second evening a more pleasurable experience.
The studio is located near the Wells Fargo on Carroll St NW. I think they should have a storefront sign (similar to the Petworth location) because yogis who are unfamiliar with the area can miss it. There wasn't enough space for me to put my stuff, so I resorted to the floor. The cubbies are rather limited.
I'll be back to Yoga Heights soon.

Thanks for the great review Adrienne. We have brand new signs all over the front of our building at 255 Carroll St. now, so nobody can miss us! See you in class soon.

I decided to take a candlelight yoga class tonight and I wanted to try a different location, just to be a little spontaneous! This class was soooo good! The instructor, Suria, was great and her selection of music was on point..think Buedi Siebert/Kitaro.
The location is in Takoma which is a very cute and cozy neighborhood in DC. The studio is surrounded by restaurants and parking is not difficult to find!
I will definitely be back! It was a great ending to a stressful day.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hilary H.Washington, DC286412131680Jun 21, 2018
One of the things I love the most about yoga is the way it brings people together. Think about it: you're all in an empty room together, living in the moment and for the moment, bending and twisting into strange positions that kinda hurt but actually feel really great. You might fall. You might fly. You might laugh. You'll definitely learn something about yourself, and you'll definitely grow.
I moved to DC about two years ago, and have been searching for my yoga studio home for about the same amount of time. I never went to the same studio twice, until I went to Yoga Heights. Once I went more than twice, I couldn't stop going. Now I go just about every day. Sounds extreme, but it isn't, really -- Yoga Heights is just that great.
The studio is beautiful. It's clean, it's filled with natural light, and it smells really good. The bathrooms are among the most thoughtful and adorable I've ever been in -- I know, a bathroom! Bathrooms aside, the best thing about Yoga Heights? The people.
Every class is wonderful and different. The teachers are incredible because they are just that -- incredible teachers. I have learned so much in the last few months that when I stop and look back, I am astounded. I've done things I hadn't been able to do with five previous years of practice under my belt, which is pretty awesome. They're kind, calm, knowledgable, encouraging, and most importantly, they are in it to teach YOU. They emphasize the importance of focusing on your level and comfort, what feels right and good -- there's never pressure to rush or conform or push yourself too much. As mentioned, they're all very different even if it's the same type of class, so I feel like I'm getting a different ray of the yoga rainbow every day of the week, and that is what I attribute my growing and satisfying practice to.
I sprung for the annual unlimited package, but there's a package for every budget, and their introductory pack can't be beat. At any rate, it's so very worth it.
As a newer resident of Takoma Park, I find the YH community welcoming, interesting, kind, warm, fun, and focused. I see other yogis regularly and enjoy the chit chat, the familiarity, the comfort -- the community. For me, that's what joining a yoga studio is all about.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0Business owner information

I was searching for months on end for my true yoga "home," and Jess' open attitude and clear concern for her business - that everyone feel welcome at any budget, any age, and level of practice - was a true standout. I found a community where there's no judgement - no "mean girl" yoga here!! -- and I couldn't be happier. The new studio in Takoma is gorgeous -- filled with light, great 'merch', and - most importantly - great teachers. The location is perfect - just down from the metro; the little town center is close by. You can make a night or morning of it! You are sure to find a class for your experience level & maybe even one to spice it up or relax & chill out - whatever you might want! Give it a try. Great intro offer. Change your life!

I've taken several classes and workshops here with Alex and they are simply superb. The studio is a beautiful open space and the staff have always been helpful and friendly. Right by the metro too so you don't need to worry about parking.
Specifically, Alex's Soul Vibe Reiki Flow classes are NOT to be missed. As some who has taken classes and workshops all over the city in the past decade, I can say with confidence that hers are the best. Look her up on Instagram - bohemianspirithero. Love her!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nina O.Washington, DC08Jul 16, 2019
I enjoyed the class I attended with Jess. The location is very convenient to Metro/public transit. The people working were very nice and welcoming and clearly explained the pricing of classes & how to register for upcoming classes. The studio has classes offered at a variety of times throughout the day. I will definitely be back!

I can't say enough good things about Yoga Heights. I attend a flow class about once a week through ClassPass, and I want to go more. All of the instructors are helpful, kind and clearly devoted to helping their students make the post out of their practice. I highly recommend Yoga Heights for any level student.

I'm now into my second year practicing at Yoga Heights. I started with their $39 unlimited one month trial offer, and liked it so much that I committed to an annual membership. I began going to this studio when I moved back to Takoma Park (although they have second studio in Petworth that I have yet to visit). I've been a member at 3 other different yoga studios throughout the DC metro area (as I moved from TP to SW and then back to TP), and this one has been the best, in my opinion. It's very well run. The instructors are friendly, considerate, and knowledgeable. There are also SO many different daily classes to select from (available throughout the day for just about any kind of work schedule), and the TP studio (which has two practice rooms) is clean and lovely. They also have a video library available, which means that you can take Yoga Heights with you when you travel. I highly recommend that you try this place out.

Having never done yoga before I was a bit intimidated to try the class, but I am very happy I did! The environment this studio exudes is welcoming to all levels and made me feel immediately comfortable. My instructor, Corinne, was fantastic! She was mindful of the fact that everyone's bodies and abilities are different and catered to that beautifully by explaining all the options to make a pose more difficult or easier. I would absolutely recommend her and the studio to a friend!
