Q:
I was wondering if anyone would be able to say how much it typically costs after the initial trial? I'm a student and this seems like a really cool way to work out but I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it after the first 5 classes.
A:
I Julia, It's around $160 a month with unlimited access. It seems a lot but if you do 3 classes a week (wich you'll end up doing for sure, it's addictive!) it costs less than 14$ per class.

Are there showers in the locker room?
A:
Hey Shaun! Thanks for the question. We don't have showers in the locker rooms and we have the bathrooms supplied with post workout hygiene amenities for your use- deodorant, dry shampoo, etc... Hopefully we'll see you soon.

I would give 10 stars if I could. I joined when they first opened in 2018 but it has really been since the start of the new year that I have been going on a more regular basis. I absolutely LOVE ILKB - Walnut Creek.
When I walk in I feel so welcomed by all of the staff and other kickboxers. The workout is truly incredible and I am seeing such a difference & feel stronger.
It truly is a family and the best hour of my day. I am so happy I joined!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Vanessa L.San Bruno, CA012Oct 25, 2018
My brother and I are members of 24Hour Fitness, and we pretty much go to the gym at least 5 days a week. But as we all know, it gets boring after a while. So, we decided to try something new. So, we bought the 3 classes online deal...just to see.
Thats when we met Christina, Jenica, and Kami at ILoveKickboxing! Very impressed by this place and love the people. If you were to compare it with food.. its like fast food and fine dining, where your 24hr fitness is fast food, ILKB is definitely FINE DINNING.
I felt so welcomed scheduling the first class, when talking to the enthusiast Christina. To when we got there walking in and being greeted by them already expecting you and remembering your name. They take their time, because they care.
15 minute warm up, streching, then on to punching the bags! Everyone modivating each other, high 5s here and there, and having the instructor watch your movement while helping you get the moves right. You will definitely feel the burn plus of course the sweats!
At the end, we completed our 3 classes but didnt join as members because it was much pricer than our 24Membership. Someday, we will be back. But I would definitely recommend this to anyone that it looking for a killer workout and the modivation!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Vanessa, thank you so much for your review. We loved having you and Ken in class. We miss you already! Please know that we will always have a table for two reserved for the both of you. Our fitness chef will be ready to dish out a steady diet of Undercuts, Jabs, and Crosses for you. I believe he plans on serving those with Roundhouses and Hooks. See you soon!!

My girlfriend and I signed up for their intro (5 sessions and gloves for $29). We were super excited and registered for our 1st class. They greeted us with a Welcome Sign when we walked in which was super cool. Then we met our "buddy" for our introduction. We know she is required to go through a protocol based on her training. However, we are 5'10" 122 lbs and 5'5" 110 lbs and she lingered over the weight loss poster (folks from all over the U.S.) and asked us our goals (huh?). We are both really fit and athletic so this was awkward. Next, she has to try and sell us on their protein drinks - that was harmless. Finally, we had the class which was really great. So why am I only giving them 1 star?
After class we signed up with the employees for our 2nd class. When we arrived (2 days later) the lights were out and the door was locked. They weren't opened. Pretty big mistake to make with newbies. Next, I looked at their schedule (not the one they advertise on their website - that isn't the real schedule). They were closed for an entire week (this was New year's when we all want to get active). It dawned on me that our instructor told us that she was going on vacation - so it appears that without enough instructors their class schedule is diminished.
Finally, I originally signed up to be able to workout on Tuesday nights before I have an education class. sadly, they do not have classes on Tuesday evenings. In fact, this coming weekend they have 0 classes. I work so I can't go to classes during the day. My conclusion is that the owners are treating this like a hobby. Suggestion to the owners - get more instructors and offer more classes - particularly on the weekends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt C.Walnut Creek, CA702Feb 18, 2019
I started last week and I have fallen in love with working out again. They have a wide variety of times for you to come to a class before or after work. I work in San Francisco and take Bart which is very convenient that they are located right next to the Pleasant Hill Bart Station.
The instructors do a very awesome job on making this gym feel like a family. Every time you walk in they greet you by your first name which in my experience is pretty hard to know people's name after meeting them for the first time. I really like the atmosphere they set for each class.
I would 100% recommend to a friend which I am trying to do since they give you an incentive if you refer and have them join. I love ILKB and definitely see myself here for a very long time. Love this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Matt... thanks!! So happy that you see yourself being at our Kickboxing studio for a long time. We have a few members that take BART in from San Francisco to Pleasant Hill. Next time you're in, ask the team for an introduction and maybe you can partner up on your BART ride as well as the Partner Drills.

ILKB in Walnut Creek is for every level of fitness. Christina, Jon, Jessica, Aja, and Kami are amazing and encouraging trainers! They teach and train with correct form and technique. They are a family that helps the inside and outside me. Meal plans are available and after an awesome workout....the right food is your friend and not your enemy anymore.
My health and fitness is worth the membership. I have seen more change in 3 months at ILKB than at my other gym. I want to keep setting new goals for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nick B.Concord, CA928Jan 22, 2019
Just joined up a couple of weeks ago, and I'm loving it! Wide variety of class times that can fit most schedules, awesome instructors, and nice clean equipment.
They also do a great job of creating a community within the community. Members are highly engaged thru social media to keep each other going!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

It takes a lot to motivate me to exercise. I need to be surrounded by people with great enthusiasm / energy to inspire me to action. I get that here at ILKB, where I recently joined after trying out a bundle of five classes.
I sweat more here after a workout more than any other gym I've been, and that's a good thing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This (10am Sat) is one of my favorite classes to attend as well, because the attendance is lower for the daytime sessions than the evening ones. The environment here is really positive, encouraging, and also still challenging! They always push you to be a better athlete and version of yourself. I love my iLoveKickboxing family!

This is an UPDATE to my previous review! I decided to give it one more shot--so glad I did! I have been to 3 Classes, all 3 taught by AJA who is awesome and I walk off the mat dripping in sweat! I like the format of the classes - they keep you moving the whole time.
I was really excited to start taking classes at this place kept getting text messages from Epic Eden and Christina about booking my first class. Well, I tried to book the Sunday @ 10:30 am, no one got back to me until after 10:00 am, so they asked if I could come to the 12:30 pm class which I ended up not making. Then on Monday I asked if I could come in at 5:30 pm or 7:45 pm, got a message, sorry first time boxers aren't allowed to take the class, it's a DJ class? Ok, so I asked if I could take the 4:15 pm class on Tuesday...sorry we're all booked until Thursday!! What? This s ridiculous...don't waste your time and or money trying to take a class--so disappointedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Mary. Thank you for letting us know about your experience. To give our first day fighters the best experience possible in order to learn the exercises, punches, kicks, and combos safely and correctly we provide a few open spots in our least busy classes. This allows our coaches to spend as much time with you as possible and still work on advancing our others members kickboxing progress. We had our monthly members only DJ Night last night- Grease Lightning- so that cut down on reservation availability this week. We would love the opportunity to get you into one of our classes- they are a blast and provide awesome results. Sometimes it just takes a little longer than expected.
