So, let me start by touting my expertise in this area: I have a career in ECERS- I visit facilities and observe/evaluate environments according to the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales (ECERS). I get paid to tell parents if the child care facility is meeting basic standards and enhancing a child's learning environment.
We are in town from Sacramento for the weekend because of a friend's wedding. We needed to attend a rehearsal dinner sans kids, which was being hosted around the corner so convenience was an A+++.
From the very moment we called to inquire, we had an amazing customer service experience. The woman on the phone answered professionally and detailed out every question we had. We felt confident our two girls would have a great time.
We came in and were greeted by Danielle. We chatted it up, and Danielle was extremely child-oriented. The girls took off to play, and we left to Paragon.
4 hours later we returned and watched our girls in the window interacting with the staff and having a great time. We entered, picked up and once again were treated not only professionally, but like we were long time old friends. It was clear in the sharing of info that the staff were paying great attention to our girls and who they were. Danielle and Haley both talked with smiles about what they learned about our two and shared about what they did.
A half hour drive to our hotel was spent with my 8 year old talking non stop about all the stuff they did- dinner, races, dance-offs, building stuff, making friends. Thank you Danielle and Haley. We don't know you and probably won't be back since we are out of state, but we felt like our girls and our family were spoiled for the brief time they were there. Thank you.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

I won't give my opinion, just the facts. My son, 8, and another boy, 6, both attended WeVillage after school on a regular basis.
Today, I received a phone call from their school. No one from WeVillage was there to meet the bus, so the bus driver brought them back to school. I later found out the person who lost track of time was Karen, the owner.
What do you think about this? Is this responsible? Good business practice?
Just some information before you make up your mind. Both boys have been going there for over two months.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wes J.Bellevue, WA29091Jul 25, 2019
WeVillage was a great option for us! We were in Portland for a few days from out of town, and needed childcare at the last minute. The facility was clean, the staff was attentive, and most of all the kids had fun! We would recommend them and we would come back again. Thanks WeVillage for taking care of Walker and Warner!

Please know that I dropped my beautiful child off for a couple hours and when I returned the ratio appeared to be over 15 to 1 care provider. There was an infant in that group. Horrified I asked what was happening and the provider said that the other person was down the street picking up a child from a school.
I would never, ever, ever ever send my child bear this place and really hope you read this review.
Later I read that they've been caught doing practices like this by the state many times and that a staff was a whistleblower.
I'm shocked they are allowed to be in business.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear user,
We appreciate reviews from actual users of wevillage, however we have no record of you in our system or sign in sheets at the Pearl District location or any location of We Village. - Tatyana C.Portland, OR31614Feb 19, 2019Updated review
Danielle at pearl district is awesome! Very helpful always willing to help with any questions. We love her!!! Our daughter (6) loves wevillage, clean and nice place with qualified childcare providers. Have to update my review: we stopped going to wevillage, because when we were still members they charged us as non members per hour and it happened more than once, so frustrating to pay and pay extra when you don't have to, I really used to like this place

In a pinch we had to use the WeVillage Pearl for our 16 month old son. His daycare was closed for a week for inservice, and we had just come back from vacation so couldn't stay home with him ourselves.
First, like others here have complained, the website stinks. I could not sign up online, it stated we had to register in person. So my husband went in because he works nearby. They told him to make a reservation online. When he tried, he got the same message that it had to be done in person. We should have walked away at this point, but we were in a jam.
So the morning of the first day, my husband goes to drop our son at 7:30. There was one person working the front desk who is also watching the infant room. There was no dedicated infant staff until 8:00! When my husband expressed his displeasure that this was not communicated to him with he signed our son up for the week, the woman was flat out rude.
Then, my husband dropped in at lunch to bring some food (having just returned from vacation we had nothing to pack for him that morning). Our son was in a swing for a nap (that he was much too large for) and when he woke up it was clear he was unhappy there. My husband tried to console him before returning to work, but the woman basically told him to leave because when parents drop in it makes things worse for the child.
Finally, when my husband when to pick him up at the end of the day, the door was not only unlocked, but propped open! This is a daycare downtown in a very busy area and they leave the door unlocked?! That was the last straw. My husband told them we would make other arrangements for the rest of the week. They then charged him $150 for the day! NEVER, EVER AGAIN. If I could give them a zero star I would.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Danielle D.Westchester / LAX, Los Angeles, CA010Aug 16, 2016
Absolute lifesaver! Can't believe how beautiful the space is for what I pay. My kids come home with stories about science experiments and awesome art projects. Couldn't ask for a more innovative and creative staff. The director, Sarah, couldn't be more kind and supportive. I needed flexible quality childcare! Not drop in care. Actual curriculum and quality care! I found it!!

Really felt compelled to write these guys a review
This location is so beautiful and vibrant. I reserved a spot for my 2.25 year old;) and came in to visit. The owner happened to be on site and so so kind. She really understood what I was looking for in a facility and answered my way too many questions!! I was grateful, the staff was doing a science project in the main area and the toddlers were in story time. So incredibly grateful for this place. My daughter was so nervous but these woman were pro's in transitioning her. I called later to check in and they asked me if we could send a pic of her!
Very pleased! I will be using them 3 days a week on my schedule!! Amazing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michelle S.Portland, OR143Jan 26, 2016
I took my niece in here a few weeks ago I was sitting since I had a last minute meeting there in the Pearl and they do have drop in (at a minimum of $30).
My niece said the girls there are nice but their phones are glued to their hands!
Can the staff dispute this claim? Are you all constantly on your phones out there on the floor?Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
