WAXON Laser + Waxbar

this was the worst experience I have ever gotten. DO NOT GET ANY FACIAL BEAUTY SERVICES HERE. I got my eyebrows done and they had no clue what they were doing. the girl waxed my eyebrows then continued to pluck and trim my eyebrows for 30 minutes after. my eyebrows were completely uneven after, sore and she didn't put any lotion on them after the hot wax . it was $35 plus tax which is so unreasonable and my eyebrows looked horrible. don't offer a service you are not properly trained in!!!!!!!!!!!!

Came in for a brow tint and left looking like Groucho Marx. The person opted for an inky black colour to 'match' my blonde hair and already light Eyebrows so now it looks like I use black permanent marker as my eyebrow pencil.

This position requires someone who doesn't have the grace of a bull in a china shop. All of the make up was smeared off my face because it was used as a hand rest and knocked while the service was performed. I don't know how this place keeps opening new locations...

Pro tip: do not let them give you a touch up with powder after your services because the brushes are NOT cleaned between clients.

I've been a customer at WAXON for the past 4 or 5 years and thought that I should finally post a review. Despite having to travel over an hour to get to this location (right by Summerhill station), I wouldn't think about going anywhere else.

First off, as other reviewers have mentioned, there are two entrances, so if you're worried about walking through the front door of a wax bar, WAXON's got you covered. The back entrance is easy to navigate, so you don't have to worry about getting lost when finding your way to the lobby either. The design of facility is very sleek and modern with their glass walls that face the street and signature yellow and grey coloured furniture. It is very clean and well kept, and their line of products can be found right in the lobby.

The staff are very friendly. Upon arrival, the receptionist(s) always greet me with a smile and offer a water bottle while waiting for my service. I've been going to the same esthetician, Kate, since the first time I went to WAXON. Other reviewers have mentioned that the esthetician does not leave the room as you undress, which is true, however Kate does turn around and even offers a cleansing wipe prior to the service to eliminate any added discomfort. In addition, she talks to you throughout the service, which does ease you through the process. Despite her knowing exactly what I want, she has me do a once over to ensure that I am satisfied before I leave, which is something that I personally appreciate.

They have a couple of waxes: gold (previously blue), purple, and white (I think) - all of which are stripless. The gold and purple have been used on me, and I don't really know what else to say other than they definitely do their job. They may have different uses or purposes, but I've never asked what the difference is between them. The waxing sticks used to apply the wax are used individually and are disposed of immediately after use. After the service, they apply Prince Reigns serum, which prevents ingrown hairs. They sell this product as well as a variety of scrubs, lotions, oils, and soaps. When I first started coming here, they do sometimes push the products, however, I personally buy the serum and sugar scrub as often as I need to (as they both last for a few months), so I don't really have that issue.

In terms of booking, you can schedule an appointment online via the WAXON website. If you create an account and book online, you get 100 pts (or 200, I can't remember) to your WAXON account that you can use towards a future service. (You can get these by referring a friend [500 pts], or buying two products at once [200? pts].) I banked enough to get $23 off my service, which was great at the time for a university student like me. Also, if you show your student card (or check-in on yelp, I believe), you get a discount!

All in all, I have no complaints about WAXON. The staff are wonderful, the facility is clean, and the service is outstanding. What more can you ask for?

Love going here for the Brazilant. I see Angie, and she does an excellent job. She's chatting and talks nonchalantly throughout the ordeal - and does make things more comfortable. I read a negative review about disrobing infront of her...ummm you're gonna be half-nakey already so I don't see the big deal, plus you will find this with several other places. I will say that yes, she is a little pushy when it comes to promotions and sales, but it is what it is. If you're not interested, say no thank you.

At the end of the day, it's about getting the job done and getting it done well. The wax is practically painless in comparable with other places I've experienced. If you're thinking about getting one...go here and see Angie.

My usual go-to place for waxing is always busy so I have to make appointments weeks in advance. I also just wanted to see what else was out there so I did a Yelp search for other places that a) waxed and b) that was close to my house - I found WAXON Waxbar.

Steps away from Summerhill Station, I found WAXON Waxbar pretty easily. I love the interior here; it's all white and yellow. It's minimalistic, but looks neat and sleak. Being able to book on-line is always a plus for me as well; I think I booked my appointment at 2 in the morning. Another plus about this place is that it is so clean - all sticks for waxing are used once and once only! I was impressed with the service here - the woman who waxed me was very friendly and chatted throughout the entire appointment, which allowed me to think of something else besides the pain. Pricing here is average, which I don't mind because the service is excellent here (I was offered a bottle of water as I waited). Can't wait to go back.

I tried Waxon again this week and had to come back and change my review. Yhe lady i saw this time was super fast and super professional. Full leg and eyebrows in under 40 mins. The price was reasonable and there was no wait time. The ability to book online was amazjng. Waxon was clean, last time i was not impressed, but had tbia been my first experience at this location i would have given them 5 stars!

I want to provide some feedback on my experience at Waxon Summerhill. I went in August for the first time and had the Braziliant from Angie N. The experience was awful. First of all, Angie didn't leave the room while I was changing. She continually talked about buying the pack of services (I think it was purchasing the 10 pack, can't remember specifically). I finally told her I didn't have the money to dish out at the moment. She continued pushing it, telling me it was a great deal and I should really reconsider. After the service, she took me to the product section and told me that I needed the scrub and serum. She was incredibly pushy and insisted that I needed both products. I ended up purchasing them. While it was a disappointing experience, I decided that maybe it was just because I was a new client and she was very confident in Waxon's products.

I came back for my second appointment thinking I'd give it another try. I didn't realize that I was booked with Angie again. During the second appointment she insisted AGAIN that I needed to buy the pack of 10 services. I again told her I wasn't interested. She then started pushing the product and I reminded her I'd purchased the scrub and serum last time. She told me that it didn't hurt to stock up and I should consider buying more.

It is very apparent that their technicians are compensated on commissions from product sales. I have gone back to my original service provider, The Ten Spot, as their technicians are respectful, pleasant and have NEVER pushed a product on me. Furthermore, they respected my privacy and let me change in private. Even after asking the technicians at The Ten Spot for advice on after wax care, they never bring up their products, they simply advise to exfoliate and moisturize.

I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience at Waxon and needless to say I will not be going back. I'm not sure if this is how all of their technicians treat clients, but Angie had ruined my opinion of the company.

Honestly the BEST (& least painful) brazillian I've ever had, Elaine is amazing! She's polite, professional and very friendly! This establishment is kept immaculate & the pricing is beyond reasonable! Also the desk staff (I can't remember her name unfortunately) was super polite and gave me a great recommendation on where to get a salad after! Would honestly 100% vouch for :)

Talk about last minute! I desperately needed a MAJOR brow cleanup and was so busy at work, I didn't get to plan ahead. Website booking was super convenient so stars for that - I got to see timeslots available, and who the person would be.

But I needed to get something done in 5 minutes, and I saw there was a slot open but because it was in the next 4 minutes (by the time I got to that page), it said to call. I took a chance as I work so close and ran. One minute to spare, I walked in saying if by any chance there was an opening for a brow cleanup, and YES!, there was.

Anna was great - she asked me wax or thread. I said thread, but she said because my hairs were so long (BOO!), waxing would be better. I liked her shape, to which she said she actually colored it in. After the wax, she taught me how to fill in my brows. She filled in one brow, and than she made me do the other as a learning session. Really appreciated the tutorial.

Would TOTALLY be back, and would recommend Anna for brows. She is very friendly and bubbly too. Very quick and convenient which is perfect for busy professionals.
