WAXON Laser + Waxbar

Originally booked a classic bikini wax with Ericka via the online booking option yesterday, after reading all the great reviews. I got to my appointment 5 minutes early for them to tell me I missed my appointment by 5 minutes..? I had the email saying the time but was told unfortunately they marked me as a no-show. That sucked, but I rescheduled for today (No Ericka, didn't get a choice about who I booked with).

Came in today and my aesthetician was not very friendly. I find it odd that she didn't ask about my skin type, or if I had been waxed before. I volunteered the info that I have sensitive skin and her response was "Well, we use hard wax anyway so..." Had I not been previously employed for a company that sold wax I would not have known what that meant.

Long story short - I walked out of the appointment covered in wax, with several spots of hair still left. I'm covered in red rashes. Mentioning I had sensitive skin should've been an opportunity for her to up-sell me on an after-care product, but she shrugged it off. I should have spoken up and mentioned I was unhappy, but to be honest I just wanted to get out of there. Really disappointed and will not be going back - time to find an aesthetician who is not part of a chain.

This Queen Street East location keeps me coming back because of one person alone, Ericka.
In my opinion, Ericka is the finest waxer I have ever had! She is professional, kind, efficient, and willing to give that little bit extra so I walk away feeling and looking great.
I'm a little nervous about posting this review, because I kind of want to keep her all to myself! Needless to say, if you want the best, Ericka at Waxon's Queen East location is it!

First time visit!
Receptionist was wonderful and the space was bright and clean. The lady who waxed me did a great job but seemed like she was having a mediocre day, so I just didn't feel welcomed.

I don't think I'll be going back.

I decided to try getting waxed by a professional before I went on vacation so I booked an appointment in advance through the waxon website which was quite easy to navigate. On the day of my appointment, I was greeted by the receptionist upon arrival, and the aesthetician who guided me into the room was friendly. She was talkative and informative but she seemed a little rushed during the waxing session. I left the waxbar with quite a large amount of wax on my clothes and skin. The rest of my day was uncomfortable and everything I touched left a sticky wax residue.

The aesthetician said that hair on the arms and legs would grow back in 4-6 weeks and the underarms in 2 weeks. However, the following day after waxing, all the hair in the areas I had waxed had already grown back and most of the hair follicles became red ingrown bumps. I looked closely at my legs, arms and underarms and found that some areas were missed and didn't actually get waxed at all. In addition, in the areas that did get waxed, the hair had been ripped in half! The wax didn't actually remove the hair from the root, it just ripped it. I paid over $100 and tips on a service that did not deliver results and made the days following incredibly painful. If I just wanted to remove hair on the surface of the the skin, I would've just shaved or used a hair removal cream and saved the trouble of enduring waxing pain and ingrown hairs afterwards. I've done a better job waxing at home than what was called a "professional service".

It's been a week after the wax appointment, I have dozens of red bumps with ingrown hairs due to "ripped hairs". The waxed areas are extremely irritated, itchy, sore and painful. This is not what I envisioned my vacation to be like and definitely not how a professional waxing service would be.

This chain has a few locations, which are spread out and therefore convenient for most. I can walk to mine, which is great. The service is always prompt and professional. They use different types of wax for different body parts, which surprisingly, you don't always find at all waxing salons. I've been a loyal customer for a year now and don't have any complaints. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I wish there were better discounts for loyal customers.

I've visited four of the waxon locations and this one is my favourite. Bright, clean and excellent customer service. Andrea is great !!

Visited here during the Yelp Treat Yo' Self month of January when they had a check in deal for 15% off any service. My usual spa was booked, and I needed a Brazilian wax before a vacation!
I used the online booking system and was able to easily cancel/change said booking when I realized I had made a mistake in the date/time. It was my first time experiencing hard wax and I have to say it was interesting. I'm pretty used to hot wax, and it's the only type of hair removal I've tried down below because I am so used to my esthetician. I was told by the girl that there are two types of hard wax they use here (depending on the length of hair) and they also use hot wax (generally a combination of all three types of wax). I found her to be informative and professional, which was great. The girl at the reception desk was also very nice. I had a great visit (quick, almost painless, and a very clean and sterile environment). I'm not sure if I'd go back as the price range is more than what I generally pay and I adore my usual esthetician, but if hard wax is your thing, there's more than one location of Waxon you could visit.

Clean, punctual and professional. Erica did a great job. Receptionist was eating chips while checking me in ... Not cool.

I really liked this place and would recommend it to anyone.

Everything was just so easy! The online booking (and my subsequent cancellation when I realised I had booked the wrong location!), the choice of times (I don't finish work till 6.30pm), the choice of technicians, the simplicity of the new client forms, the speed of the procedure (10-15 mins lower leg wax), the lack of any noticeable pain during the wax... Everything was perfect.

My waxer was Alanna and she was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and did a great job.

I just got out if my appointment and that was by far the best waxing experience I have ever had. It was quick and painless ( I usually find waxing painful and I have a low pain tolerance) I am definitely travelling the extra hour it's takes me to go to this Waxbar again would 100% recommend. The staff were also very nice and friendly which made the experience that much better.
