Jennifer Schwinn is a complementary health care provider who was trained as a CMP (Certified Massage Practitioner) in 1994. She is a Level II Reiki Practitioner, and is also trained in Breath Therapy. Her Reiki energy treatments work in harmony with all other medical treatments to support the body’s ability to heal, including but not limited to: massage, psychotherapy, Eastern & Western medicine, acupuncture, and oncology treatments.

What Reiki Is:
Reiki is a form of complementary health care, which has been found to augment the body’s ability to heal via Reiki energy treatments. How does it work? If we looked at our bodies at a molecular level, we would see that our bodies are alive with energy! We also know energy can be manipulated. Illness, trauma, and stress can inhibit the flow of energy and essential life force through the body, restricting optimal healing conditions. Reiki rejuvenates and relaxes the body, carrying vital life energy to speed healing, and can reduce stress and pain from chronic conditions.

What Reiki Is Not:
Your Practitioner is trained in Reiki, and is not a licensed physician. Reiki is a complement to the healing arts services licensed by the State of California (i.e. those services provided by nurses, doctors, and other licensed medical professionals).

A Typical Reiki Treatment:
The client consults with the practitioner to discuss the reasons for the visit and any concerns that should be brought to the attention of the practitioner. The client also receives an informational release form.Then the client is asked to lie down on a massage table and will remain fully clothed during the treatment. The practitioner will allow the life force of Reiki energy to flow through the hand chakras and into the client. The practitioner may have hands inches above the client, or with consent of the client, hands may be placed directly on the body in a manner that is comfortable. The practitioner may also use crystals, guided visualization, dowsing, and other similar techniques to facilitate the balance of energy in the body and spirit. The flow of energy may feel like warmth, coolness, tingling, a slight pulling sensation, or nothing at all. The practitioner is simply a conduit for the energy. It is believed that the vital life energy is guided by God/Source/Spirit to serve the highest emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical well-being of the client.
