The yoga practices at Urban Yoga are transformational, and the community is the most welcoming and supportive. Urban Yoga has been pivotal in my growth journey, and I am beyond grateful. This is WAY more than a yoga studio. It is truly a community of authentic, genuine friends who support each other in being themselves. Oh and the delicious plant-based food that always seems to be around ... :)

      Most wonderful experience!
I do not have enough words to express my gratitude, love, and happiness with the practice of Kundalini Yoga, and with the community. I found Urban Yoga Chicago searching for classes for my 4-year-old (another great thing they offer!), however, I decided to experience it myself. Three years ago I started with joint pain in my hands and morning stiffness. I was attended by different specialists and they performed all possible exams and they were all normal, but the pain continued to worsen and spread to my knees, elbows and feet. I am a doctor and I had the opportunity to actively participate in the process and was extremely sad and frustrating. Without expecting it, after my fifth class the pain improved 80%. Now that I have completed my first month, I am pain-free. I feel blessed and happy. I am more connected with my true self and my needs. I have improved my nutrition and breathing just because my body requires it. On the other hand, the love that teachers put into what they do can be felt everywhere. The community is amazing. They are all inspirational, passionate, caring and loving people, always willing to support. It really has been the best thing that could have happened to me and I am grateful! Sat Nam

First of all, the owners are so kind and they practice what they preach. Savitree Kaur has been my teacher for over 8 years and she has been such a strong influence on my life. Jodh Kaur is a social worker, like me, who brings commitment, listening and compassion to her teaching. The space is cozy and so inviting. There is delicious yogi tea after each class and you smell it as you're practicing. The ginger and cinnamon help you feel so welcomed and happy. I have taken classes as well as the chanting and they are all fabulous offerings. So uplifting and energizing. If you've been feeling blue, isolated or you're just curious about kundalini yoga this is one of the safest places to explore this form of yoga in the area. Tricia Nolan is also an amazing teacher to explore. She utilizes so many forms of healing in her meditation class that you will absolutely be changed on some level. If I lived closer I would be here multiple times a week and could comment on the rest of the staff, who are probably also fabulous. Try out a class, even if it's only to taste the tea.
