I signed up for the 2 visits per month package at $99/month back in 2021. After 3 years, I decided to cancel my membership, which was fairly easy. I had 10 visits left on my membership. When I'd go in to try to schedule visits, they only had one time slot available, 0930am.

Then, after I canceled my membership, they billed me an additional month, and when I missed an appointment that I didn't see a record of on my account, charged me $149 for the missed visit. That adds up to $248. Pretty expensive. They charged an old account and were almost non-responsive when I asked them to reverse the charge and charge the correct card. Since I'm unable to use my 10 visits, that's a loss of $500 in monthly fees in addition to the cancellation.

For a place that touts rest and relaxation, feels shady.

Agree with the reviewer that says the room is very cold. I was shivering and trying to get water all over my body to stay warm which took away from the experience.
My partner said his tub smelled like mildew. He thinks the tub may not have been cleaned properly.

This was recommended by a friend. I though it was gimmicky, especially since all of their marketing is geared towards uber fit/ripped bodies that need relaxation because they are over-worked.

I have gone back a couple of times because it's definitely an interesting experience and now that I have the process down, I find it very relaxing.

Staff is usually friendly and welcoming, the place is kept clean and overall and interesting place that I would highly recommend trying if you are into self-care.

I wish I didn't have to write this review; I've held off writing it for 2 years hoping for a reasonable resolution, but it looks like more of the same, so here we go.First off - the good.

Floating saved me from some of the darkest and most difficult times in my life. More effective than any therapist, medication, meditation retreat, or workout routine in regards to healing, going inwards, and letting go. I noticed HUGE benefits physically, emotionally, and mentally, and have since incorporated floating as part of my weekly routine.

The not-so-good, and something all floaters should be aware of:
I had to jump around between locations as they started using chlorine to clean their float tanks. Many people out there - myself included - have sensitivity to this chemical, and even trace amounts can result in chemical burns and other allergy-like reactions. I discovered they were using chlorine the hard way, which is no fun. There were a few locations that would use hydrogen peroxide to clean the water, and that was fine, but they stopped doing this and switched to chlorine across the board, so I had to stop going. I fill out the cancellation form, walk it in and hand it in person.

And thats where the bad news REALLY starts.

I cancelled my monthly unlimited plan in December 2018 because of severe chemical burns I got from floating here. I knew that I would be charged for my final month January 2019 as per the contract cancellation rules. Except I kept getting charged - February, March, April, May, June, July, and August. Every month, every time I got charged I would call in and explain I'd cancelled in December, they would confirm that they see it should be cancelled, I ask them to close my account and refund the over-charge. Every time, they would say "Definitely, no problem, we'll get that done immediately after I'm done dealing with this customer". Same story month after month.

For the first year I was calling in once to twice a month to try to get this resolved, always pushed off and never resolved. I finally had to start getting aggressive on the phone, and finally a worker (Capitol Hill location at the time) ACTUALLY closed my account, right there on the phone! They could have done it the whole time. They said didn't have authority to issue the refund though, that goes back to the manager (Kendall Ross).

Well, Fast forward another year, and dealing with Kendall has been humiliating and a nightmare. Basically it was translated that I was under investigation and they had to do "Due diligence" to "get to the bottom" of whats going on here - Even though I had detailed play by play every correspondence, interaction, and communication that had happened thus far. I'm being treated like I'm a criminal trying to scam their system or something - after being one of their best customers for years!

I'm about to move away from Seattle, so I wanted to get this wrapped up before I left. After a few weeks of calling and emailing Kendall, she finally replies "Hi Geoff, Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, this situation has been out of my hands for quite some time now and I no longer have any information regarding the matter. I've forwarded your message on to our corporate headquarters as well as your contact information."

Apparently they did so much Due Diligence that they forgot what they were looking for?

Either way, I feel scammed, disrespected, and this has caused me 2 years of free-"floating"-anxiety. This is NOT the kind of stress I want to be dealing with from a relaxation spa.

Unfortunately I have to say - Avoid this place at all costs - look for other (more expensive) local float spa's who actually care about their customers and not just milking the franchise for as much quarterly profits as they can.

I'm sorry on behalf of the amazing staff I got to know and befriend over the years, you have helped my healing journey so much and I will always remember you with fondness! Please don't take this personally this is review is of the management and executive direction only.

Read the other reviews - this is a COMMON experience with people cancelling their accounts. If you don't pay for monthly accounts, only prepaid or one-off floats, you'll probably be fine if you don't have chlorine sensitivity.

      FIRST TIMER REVIEW.
I've always wanted to try this place, So when I saw a Groupon deal I jumped on it. Plus I was super sore from "leg day" & I heard that this is the place to go too when you're in some time of pain. Whether that's mentally pain or physical pain.

I called to make an appointment and asked questions. The gal on the phone was kind and answered all my questions.

When I arrived, there was 3 staff members all happy and doing something productive. Joanna sat me in the pre-float waiting room and I filled out a form on a tablet and watched a 6 min beginner video. Once I was finished Joanna gave me a tour, a brief over view and took me to my "pod room"

Fast forward: I enjoyed my 1st time floating experience. I felt like I was in another world . In other words I was relaxed and felt rejuvenated.

      Tips:
      - bring your own body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They provide it but I wasn't a fan of the smell.
      - they don't provide moisturizer ( bring your own)
      - if you have any cuts (do not come here until it's healed! It will sting!) The water contains 1200lbs of epson salt.

We went here to try a new experience for date night. It definitely was not our thing. That being said the place was very clean and the staff was very friendly and the experience was pretty good.

What I didn't love was at the water got cold because it wasn't being kept warm throughout the hour that I was floating. The music was very enjoyable. Because I'm a girl with long hair I do like to do my hair and this wasn't a place that facilitated me getting dressed and ready to continue with my day. It would've been better to go home and go to bed. It was still fun just not my thing.

I was really looking forward to this float. I've done floating before so I know what it should be like. We went on a Saturday and the entire float time, the room was colder than the water temperature which completely undermines the entire float experience. The whole point is to have the same temp for water and room to feel like you are in nothingness. The whole time I was trying to focus on not freezing by splashing the water on my body outside the water. I brought this up with the front desk and they told me that because it's Saturday they have back to back appointments where the tub and room are opened multiple times and not able to heat up properly again before the next appointment. They told me I should come during the weekday instead. To me this is an inappropriate response. It is not my fault that their product does not work because they are booking appointments back to back. And then telling me I should have come in at a different time. I definitely will not be going back and am telling my family who had a gift card there not to go.

This place left me feeling great for days.

A friend and I recently purchased a float here for the first time, we have never floated before but had been reading up on the benefits. This place was great and we both really enjoyed it.

To start the facility is super clean and really serene. The colors they chose for the rooms and the front desk area mellow you out. Their waiting rooms were clean and comfortable. The lighting inside that place is amazing. They walk you through everything. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They will tell you everything you need to know before you start. I was also offered tea or water.

This place also has hair dryers in the bathrooms and large mirrors so you can get ready before you leave. It's really luxurious.

They provide everything for you, like earplugs, petroleum jelly for any cuts, towels, a spray bottle if you get salt in your eyes, a floatie for your neck if you need support.

For my float I'd say it was amazing experience. It didn't take me too terribly long to relax. It was my first float so it took me a minute to stop floating into the edges and bumping my foot or my head but once I got settled I was floating in space. I was able to meditate and be in and out of sleep. The only thing I wish I had done (and the next time I go back I will do this) was to turn the light off in the room because if you want to open your eyes and still be in pitch black it's hard to do if the light is still on in the room when the lid is closed. There is still a crack that let's light through. While I still closed my eyes almost majority of the time, there were still times where I personally wanted to open my eyes but still be in complete darkness and I think turning the light off would have been a good idea.

The temperature of the water was great. It was very clean inside the pod. You get to choose all your options like if you want music before/after, or just in the beginning, and so on and so forth. There is a light switch in the pod so you control the lighting, as well as an emergency button. You control the door of the pod so you can choose if you want it open or closed.

Anyways, when I got out I was completely happy the rest of the day. I wasn't rushed out of the room. They let me take my time to get my stuff together. They let me know that memberships were available. When you come out of that you feel completely blissful.

I guess the only thing I really didn't care for was the shampoo. The shampoo and body wash I'm sure are the same thing because they look exactly the same in the bottle and smell the same but are in different containers labeled separately. Thus, I didn't feel that the shampoo cleaned my hair very thoroughly. I didn't bring my own shampoo because on the website it tells you that it's provided for you. I had to go home later and take another shower and wash my hair again because the salt was still pretty thick in my hair. I'm not sure if this is a certain product that is used because it keeps the pods clean or if it's just something generic because this place is so new. I did appreciate the vinegar for the ears though.

Overall, I love this place. I'm going to go back and most likely purchase a membership. I really enjoy it here and my friend did too. She was lucid dreaming when she floated. I'm hooked and so is she! Can't wait to go back.

The Isopods are super clean and really cool looking. I had to take a picture. :)

This was my first float tank experience and will unfortunately be my last... at least at this particular establishment. I went on a first time rate of $45. The place seemed clean enough at first. However, when I was given a tour of my room, there was a musty sweat/body odor smell coming from the water in the float tank. This being my first time, I wasn't sure if this was normal or not, so I asked if the water was changed out after each session. To my surprise, I was told that the water was hardly ever changed out but was continuously being filtered. To be honest, I was a little turned off by this, but I went ahead and proceeded anyways. I used the foam ear plugs that they recommended using. I ended up not enjoying the float experience and got out before my time was up, but that's just personal preference. I got out, showered, and made sure to rinse my ears out as they had directed. I payed, opting out of adding a second session for around $79 for a Black Friday deal they were offering. Fast forward to the next morning when I woke up and my left ear felt weird and irritated. Throughout the day, it became swollen along with my left side of my neck! I ended up going to urgent care the following day and the doctor agreed that it was most likely due to bacteria in the water that got in my ear. I was prescribed some antibiotics and sent on my way. I felt obligated to inform Urban Float what had happened. After calling and explaining my experience to an nice young employee there (she was very sympathetic and apologetic) she took my name and number and assured me the manager would get back to me and most likely issue a refund for the unfortunate experience. That was almost 2 weeks ago now and I have still received no word from them. Take this as a cautionary tale. Based on possible sanitation/hygiene issues and poor customer service, I would never give them my business again. If you're looking for a float therapy place, I highly recommend trying some place else.
