I first came across this place when it was Fitness/ Spin Therapy. I was getting bored with going to the gym and running in the fog so I checked out Groupon and saw a cycling class special. I had taken spin classes at 24, Ballys, & Crunch, but they'd usually be at inconvenient times or filled up with people & broken bikes.

Spin Therapy was great. I loved the vibe being in the dim lights with the upbeat dance pop & hip hop music. It was a little intimidating at first, but i didn't get that awkward judgemental feeling from anyone. My favorites were Colleen and Marcia. Their classes were always booked up fast. After I used my all my classes, I decided to purchase more. Even without the groupon, classes are a reasonable price compared to all the other cycling studios out there.

Somehow in the middle of my new cycling hobby, I got a new job, apartment, and boyfriend and took a hiatus from working out. 2 years and 15lbs later, I needed to get back in the groove. Ownership had changed and it's now Urban Cycle (A little offended by the name being a native watching my working class immigrant based hood becoming gentrified but I'll let it slide cause I love this place). I was scared coming back being so out of shape, but it's okay- circle is a shape. I looked up for class specials and they were still offering a groupon. If you go on their main website, there are also holiday, first time, and student deals as well. I was also hella excited to see they still kept some of their original instructors!

The place was pretty much how I remembered it with a slightly different layout. Still clean, dim and dark but with better party lighting. Oh and I can't forget the extra HAIR TIES!, deodorant, & women hygiene products in the bathroom. My first class back was with Sam, my new favorite. because Marcia only teaches Friday nights! He helped me get set up with my bike since it had been so long. He has the best playlist. Only in Sam's class will you climb a hill to Warren G, arms to rock music, do jumps along with Gloria Estefan, and cool down with Celine Dion. Even after running around at work tending to patients all day at work, I always leave Sam's class more energized than I came.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who's a beginner or experienced. All instructors are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable with different styles. Clientele is warm and accepting. Parking is easy and location is convenient by the bart, major freeways, and near by to practically everything.

I'm finally getting back on the saddle after a 2 year break. I decided to try this spin studio I've been driving past for a few months. Kinda intimidated to go alone so I called my go-to work out friends hoping they would join me. (I've dragged these two girls to join all kinds of workout ventures with me and they always say yes! Love their motivational support) We have a thing for 6am work outs so Annie's class was perfect. My first visit, Annie was very friendly, she explained the positions, adjusted my bike for me and just overall very nice. Her playlist is full of energy and really gets you going. I haven't sweat so much in a long time! I love Annie's 6am class to start my day. She's so positive and fun! She even offered to give me a wake up call which I totally appreciated. If you want to get a great morning workout, I highly recommend Annie's class! She is amazing!

I've only tried a few classes for Donovan and Sam when I can't make Annie's 6am. So far so good! Each has their own type of energy, great playlist from 90's hip hop to the 80's. Great workouts all around! Hoping to try more.

Absolutely adore this place. I found out about it from a Groupon I purchased. I liked it so much I kept coming! Now I've brought my boyfriend too and he loved it as well. I thought I would never like Spin class but just thought I'd give it a try and I'm so glad I did.
I love the instructor Annie! She's so fun and motivating and keeps the flow of the class so well. Sam's throwback is also really fun too!
I highly recommend this small intimate studio. You feel like you're part of a workout family, not just some big corporate studio where you're just a number. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

I had my first spin class this morning with Annie and it went pretty well. Although, I'm out of shape and it kicked my butt, it was great workout! Annie was very nice and a good instructor. I didn't feel too ashamed that I couldn't always keep up during the class because there's a good atmosphere.

I'm going to continue going and hopefully build up some endurance!

Highly recommended this spin studio to any spinning newbies or enthusiasts out there!

To newbies, the instructors are super helpful and they will help you to set up your bike. Go to spin studio 15 mins early. Bring ur water bottle and sweat. I promise that 45 mins of spin session go by so fast that you will forget to check the time on your watch. I have a flat belly just by going twice or three times a week even with a heavy carb and sugar diet.

To spin enthusiasts and my fellow friends that own a pair of spin shoes, I absolutely love this spin studio and recommend you trying it out! Going to Urban Cycle has become my weekly ritual for the past 3 months. The instructors (Colleen, Marcia, Sam) are so motivational and encouraging who make me want to work hard. I still find the class fun and challenging . Catchy and choreography-matching music is one of the key reason I return again and again.

Side note: Free towels and hair ties are pluses for forgetful lady like me.

      First to Review

First time here via ClassPass. Kinda panicked because I was coming from BART and I still needed to change into my workout gear. So thankful that they have a bathroom to change into with amenities! Towels are placed on the bikes as well as light dumbbells. Towards the end of the ride, there was a portion of the class where we did some arm exercises with pulses. That was cool and totally unexpected. The playlist was cool and good to ride to. Left drenched. Thumbs up.

New to this cycle class and I love it! Annie keeps me coming back for the best kind of torture. My thigh muscles burn the entire hour, and just as I want to reduce the tension, she says "20 seconds you got this" and I push through. I always feel amazing after her class. Her playlist is always fire too!

I've been an Urban Cycle Devotee for two months! They have great spin instructors (esp Marcia, Colleen) and fun classes that give you a tough workout (think SoulCycle). I leave dripping in sweat every time!

They provide towels, filtered water -- and their bikes allow for both spin and regular shoes! The owners are incredibly welcoming and personable. Give it a spin -- pun intended!

I am so glad that there is a spin option near-ish me. I drive from Millbrae to take classes here! All of the instructors are positive, engaging, super fun, and work us hard. You will not get away with not sweating.

Try to get there early and take your time setting up your bike, or ask the instructor to help you and give you pointers. The bathroom is large enough to change in, there's a filtered water station, and cubbies for your stuff. It's not a super large facility and classes can get full, but that makes it even more of a party.

The best part about spin is that you can set your own goals and modify as needed. You may feel like you're not keeping up with the choreo, but seriously, we are ALL dying and focusing on ourselves!

Anyway, if you are a spin addict like me, or curious about it, or a seasoned pro, Urban Cycle is wonderful. Go support your small local business!

After various Yelp and Groupon reviews, I decided to go with Urban Cycle. The location and parking are easily accessible and convenient. The initial start of this journey to seek a studio that would 'fit me' was not for fitness, even though I love spinning, it was an outlet to alleviate emotional distress and strength to battle cancer...something therapy couldn't help me with.

There are no words as to how grateful and phenomenal the staff and studio is. I truly appreciate Tammy for all of her support, wise words, positivity, and prompt replies when it comes to membership. Annie, one of my FAVORITE spinning instructors, is a ball of FUN filled with upbeat energy. Annie's playlist has various beats that bang (hip hop, R&B, pop, rock, REMIXES, etc) which will definitely have you in a zone of your own to sprint, climb, challenge yourself, and forget that you're working out. You will leave her class accomplished and drenched in sweat!

Urban Cycle has made this horrendous journey manageable and I am TRULY thankful from the bottom of my heart.
