Reformer Pilates used to be a major part of my fitness routine, practices at least four days a week. But alas, once I left New York, I wasn't able to find a studio I loved. Until now...
Enter Thrive, a beautiful studio with easy booking, reasonable priced, friendly staff, and a great instructor (Theresa) for my first class.
I'm looking forward to becoming a regular!

Such a welcoming, approachable group of instructors. This has been my favorite fitness studio in Philly. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and I always get a good workout. Definitely recommend supporting this local business over other options in the RHS area!

My only experience with Pilates before coming to this studio was practicing at home with Youtube videos. I decided to go ahead and sign up for level 1 Pilates Mat with Marielle using classpass.

I actually did enjoy the class and the music that was played in the background. However, it was definitely a class for beginners and surprisingly wasn't as challenging as I wanted it to be. But the great thing about Pilates is that you can always modify your body that best works for your fitness level.

I did have a difficult time following along with the movements since most of it was done laying down so I couldn't see the instructor most of the time. But it is probably something that won't be an issue after coming more than once since you will be familiar with the sequences.

Again, this is my first Pilates class, so I don't have any comparisons with other studios. I still think this is a good workout for toning and strength.

There are so many good things I can say about Thrive Pilates but let me just start with the most important. Nicole Long. She's has been my life saver! I've been taking private sessions with Nicole for a little while now and she is awesome in so many ways. I'm a total amateur when it comes to pilates and it can be very intimidating, but Nicole has been nothing but sweet and patient with me during all our private sessions. She takes the time to identify and remember my strengths and weaknesses and pushes me when she knows I can do more. She is funny and motivating and before I know it, I've been working out for a whole hour! I can't thank her enough for all the confidence and strength she's given me during our short time together.

Aside from the private sessions here at Thrive, I have also taken some beginner and open mat classes with several instructors. Everyone has been fantastic so far and I really enjoy the studio. I highly recommend the "unlimited classes for 3 weeks" package for new members to the studio. It's such a great deal and a great way to test different instructors and different classes

I love Marisa's class and recently started doing their Barre sculpt classes as well. I would say that this is a 6/10 difficulty - good solid pilates, you probably won't be sweating if you are in good shape. the plus side is that it is friendly to all ages shapes sizes and fitness levels. the downside is that many times i leave feeling like it was a little too easy. i love this as a twice a week workout to mix in with running or weights. also, good self check in system, reasonable cancellation policy, decent student pricing.

the community is really kind. it's not snooty at all like a Pure Barre or something along those lines can be. You see the same people every week and they are so encouraging. Instructors are non judgmental. I keep coming back because of the kind folks, solid workout, and amazing location

This is my #1 favorite studio and I have already pushed the virtual yoga out to several friends. I have been coming to this studio for over 10 years and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

I love this place... I joined using the intro rate a few months after checking out a few classes on ClassPass. During that time I got to try quite a few instructors and get a feel for the community, which I feel is very positive and supportive.

Currently, I attend through ClassPass but I plan on signing up again and making pilates more of a regular part of my life. There is something about the way I feel after each class that is different from other workouts available, I also feel that it is a bit more friendly than other pilates studios I've tried in the area.

      Love thrive.

I found out about Thrive Pilates through the Yelp offer, which is a great deal! If you go to all 10 classes, each class is technically half-off at $7.50. Even though Thrive Pilates shares a building and website with Philly Power Yoga, please note they have separate classes. Thrive classes include pilates, barre, cardio kickboxing, sculpt, and more... You can try lots of different classes and then stick with the kind you like!

I took Gina's cardio kickboxing classes before they were phased out, and Gina is such a motivating and patient instructor, and the workout is really fun unless you really hate upbeat top-40 music and moving nonstop! Chelsea's cardio sculpt classes are probably the most I've ever had to push myself, but that's because I rarely tone anything. Everyone follows their moves at their own pace, so you work out as hard as you know you can. Unfortunately the room can get a little crowded with a full class, but you generally won't kick or bump anyone else (especially if you watch out).

Service is excellent and accommodating! The instructors are all very nice and welcoming. Their website is easy to use, and you need to set up an account online in order to reserve a spot for classes. You reserve classes as far in advance as you want, and then you can cancel up to 1 hour beforehand with no penalty. If the class is full, just sign up for the waitlist -- seems very easy to get off as many people end up canceling!

The location is the main problem for me; it seems like every fitness class is in Rittenhouse/Center City, but I have to commute from University City. They have stand-by spaces if you live close and want to pop by classes. Make sure to check in before your class, and they also sell water there in case you forget yours.

EDIT: 5 classes in, I can see my abs again!

A lovely Center City yoga and pilates studio with excellent instructors, super friendly staff, and immaculately maintained facilities. I only wish this studio were not quite so expensive.
