What Is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle method of cleansing and exercising the colon with purified, temperature controlled water. Its purpose is to restore the proper function and overall well-being to a very overworked and often toxic body.

Colon hydrotherapy is an effective method of removing waste from the large intestine, without the use of drugs. By introducing pure, filtered and temperature-regulated water into the colon, the human waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. This flushing process usually is repeated several times during a therapeutic session.

Colon hydrotherapy is best used in combination with adequate nutrient and fluid intake as well as with exercise. The modern and sophisticated technology applied today, manufactured through compliance with strict FDA guidelines, promotes both safety and sanitation of the procedure. We use a “Colenz” table which is an FDA registered enema kit. We also use pre-packaged disposable sterilized rectal tubes. This table is an “open system”.

During a session your dignity is completely maintained with proper draping in a private room. Our tables have built in fans therefore there is no odor!

Open System vs Closed System

There are two kinds of Colon Hydrotherapy Systems. An open and a closed.

All of our tables are “open systems”. An open system infuses the water via gravity, through a rectal nozzle that varies in diameter from ¼” to ½” and the fecal debris is expelled into a reservoir passing the nozzle that remains in place. With this system the client inserts their own tube (the tubes we use are somewhat smaller than a drinking straw).

A “closed system” infuses the water under pressure through a rectal speculum that is from 1” to 1 ¼” in diameter. The fecal debris is then evacuated through the same speculum and is discharged through a viewing tube into the toilet or sewer connection. The therapist inserts the nozzle or speculum and the speculum may be held in place by the therapist during the entire procedure. Both systems are efficient – it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Sanitation

Modern colon hydrotherapy equipment is manufactured through compliance with strict FDA guidelines that dictate rigorous accountability. The FDA registered equipment features temperature controlled water and back flow prevention valves, pressure and temperature sensors and a water purification unit. All of our equipment is disinfected with a hospital grade disinfectant after each client.

The “Colenz” Table

The Colenz is a self administered colon cleansing table. The cleanse is performed on an FDA Registered Class I Professional enema device. The rectal tube is ¼” in diameter and very flexible. The disposable nozzle is attached to the scoop of the device where the client is laying. The client inserts the nozzle and slides against the scoop allowing the nozzle to enter about 2” into the rectum. The scoop directs debris away from the client and into the large basin below the removable board where the client is laying.  A spray of fresh water in the basin along with a vacuum fan controls the smells, providing a virtually odorless experience.  The cleansing water flows gently through the nozzle from the water container located in the console at the foot of the client.  The water goes through a purification system and is constantly body temperature.  Since the client is virtually prone the water gently hydrates the entire colon.  When the client feels the urge to eliminate, the body does it naturally pushing the fecal matter past the nozzle and into the basin.
