The Sugar Bar NYC

The sugaring here is AWESOME. I love that the sugar used in service is homemade by the owner (sugar, water, and lemon). I did a brazilian, lower legs, underarms, and brows. Literally, perfection.

I recommend Saudia or Nafia. Both are experts and super, super nice people.

I came in at 2:38 stood at the front desk and the representative behind the desk didn't acknowledge me after a few minutes. I asked is this where I should check in and she seemed bewildered by my question. She asked if I have an appointment and I said yes. She said Safie was getting the room ready. After 5 additional minutes passes I asked does Safie know I'm here? She asked another lady who works there and she said oh she has someone else in the room. The receptionist asked oh two people came in at the same time.

I was just a bit taken back because the communication for a client was non existent - no greeting, no explanation of check in just no acknowledgment. When Safie did come out she said you can go to the room in the back and get undressed again no greeting.

The room was on the smaller side and I didn't see any place to hang my clothing. I waited for an additional 5 minutes for Safie to come to the room. When she came the she asked if I was getting a Brazilian which I responded yes, and she said I gave you time to undress and I indicated I couldn't locate a place to hang my clothing. She closed the door and showed me the hook on the back door. I would have never thought to look there as the door was open when I came to the room. Someone should have given me instructions want me to the wrong as it was my first time in that location.

Safie, services were good but a bit rough and I've been sugaring for 10 years.

I visited this business in its old location and had a better experience before they moved here.

I just left and I went in for sugaring + tint for my eyebrows. And honestly I feel like for the price of $35, no proper shaping was done, there's tint above my eyebrows, a whole piece of my left eyebrow is missing and nevertheless lots of hair still needing to be removed even from in between my eyebrows.. I'm not sure if I caught them at a bad time or what but the service was nice. I am just very upset with my eyebrows considering I grew them out for this. I have a vacation coming up and I have to get them fixed somewhere else.

I wish for the price, I got a better job done. I have an appointment for a Brazilian a few days from now and I have to cancel.. I don't want to waste my money again. I'm just leaving an honest review as you know eyebrows for a girl are very important.

Ok let's start . I believe in giving everyone a chance things happen. My first time booking them I was all ready to go . I arrived and when I reach I was informed that the srv I paid for she can't do it . I believe I was going to get a foot treatment and the supplies she needed didn't arrive by UPS yet. Keep in mind nobody called me to tell me to reschedule or nothing . Ok I just left and I was like wow this how ppl run business. Ok now today I booked my appointment to get a sugar wax my appt was sch for early in the morning . I did what I had to do drove down from Long Island and when I get there what happen now . I arrived @ 10:06 from my Waze direction found parking quickly . Walked over to the store @ around 10:12 try to open the door the shit locked . I said oh hell no , ok cool I called them 3x and first it went to voicemail. I kept calling nobody picked up . I check the time the store open it opened it says 1pm. I was so damn mad like really . So it gets better at around 1:07pm. I get a call from the sugar not open nyc store . She had to nerve to ask me what happen this morning I said are you serious . She running me down n telling me she was there until I tell her I had pic's. She was sooooo unapologetic and was more concerned with you wanna book or what . I said wow you can't say sorry she said it all rude n like you wanna rebook I said no have a nice day . I think she just came to the store bc that's the same time they opened n that's when she called . This is the problem ppl love feel they can run store bc they like what it brings the money . However we pay to keep the store open n look what type of srv you get . I know where to keep my business can't support ppl in this condition. The craziest thing I have a huge following and we all support other places . This time I can't recommend this place they need to learn business and customer etiquette.

Just moving to New York and have been trying to find a place like this. Being on-the-go, it's hard to find a place that offers so many services and actually be good at them!

Service: Facial ( you don't want just anyone doing extractions). Saudia took her time to explain the process and answer all my questions. The turn out was great and even ga e me at home tips!

The place is nice and clean and the staff is friendly. I did the teeth whitening for an hour. My teeth look a little whiter then before.

Amazing service by Saudia and her team. The Sugar Bar is its own Vibe. Saudia is so knowledgeable on skin. And she is so willing to help and offer suggestions to get you to your skin goals.

If you have never gotten sugared this is the best place to be at!! You will not regret it, if it's your first time it will hurt depending on how much pain you can handle but once you go again and are consistent with your appointments it's not as painful.

Sarah did my Brazilian sugaring and I'm never going back to waxing or shaving honestly. Sarah is amazing, super friendly and welcoming staff. Love the interior design of this place it's beautiful!

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

I'm very skeptical about going to new salons but I fell in love. The place is absolutely beautiful and super clean, I felt comfortable immediately. I had a sugaring Brazilian with Saudia which was an absolute delight. It was my first time and completely pain free. I was able to talk and laugh with her during the entire session. Saudia is a gem, super sweet, funny and makes you feel so comfortable. She answers any questions you have and keeps you laughing. Plus you get a cute little glitter tattoo at the end!
