Hi there! I've been getting keratin for a few years but I think I want to transition back to Brazilian. Is there any downtime post treatment? I see some clients mentioned they left with wet hair, is there a procedure I need to do myself afterward?
A:
Hello We charge by time so some clients choose to rinse there hair at home instead of paying for the extra time. Brazilian blowout is $210 for 2hr then $50 for every 30 min . I hope this helps 👍🏻

Can you do this treatment to mens as well?
A:
Anyone with hair at least 3 inches long can get a smoothing treatment done. The hair has to be at least 3 inches so that we can activate the treatment with the flat iron.

I came here twice in 2023. The Smoothbar is a game changer for me. I have straight hair that has some natural wave in it. This is great for styling but not so great when you want to go straight.
The SmoothBar was established as a straightening salon only. The business offers several straightening and smoothing options. I love the anti- frizz aspects of it. Imagine a humid summer, a trip to Hawaii or Florida!
They take good care of you here, offering a beverage upon arrival and sometimes a product sale at the end to prolong the positive benefits of the service you receive. The shampoo and conditioner seem to last
forever!
The stylists all work a little different after you agree on what service is best. I like to have everything completed there and no downtime. Everyone will be as different as your own hair is and the results you are seeking. I love how it cuts down on dry time.

Carolina A.CA, CA076May 17, 2023Absolutely loved the way my hair turned out! It's only one day after the treatment but right away after one wash my hair is definitely straighter and I can tell that even if I air dry my hair will be just as good as a quick blow dry.
My specialist Anna was amazing! Super informative about all the different types of treatments and recommended I do a different one than I booked based off my hair goals. Also recommended some products that I'm excited to try out.
I will definitely be posting an update about the progress of my hair in a few weeks but as of now I'm very happy with it!
1st update: after first wash my hair is slightly wavy! Which is amazing because I've never had my hair dry like this without any blow drying or product!

My mom has been a client at Smoothbar since 2018 and she loved it so much she kept returning.
However, this last time around she was misled and was given an unnecessary consultation and was told she was getting the same treatment (global keratin) but was given a different treatment and went against the appointment that was booked. Her hair was frizzy and dry and looked as if she never got anything done.
Just like all the other "one star" reviews they called her in for a consultation and claimed they needed to "test her hair" by wetting it and then blow drying it to make sure "the treatment was activated." Of course it looked straighter because they blow dryed and combed it.
My mom communicated with the staff three weeks after her treatment because thanksgiving and a trip happened after her treatment so she was unable to call sooner. Now we are being told that due to it being past the 2 week "guarantee" and the fact that we did not purchase the shampoos they push at the salon, you are unable to do anything and offer 50% off a treatment because they can't guarantee the quality of their work and insist that it wouldn't have happened had she purchased the shampoos they sell.
We are highly disappointed in the response and in the results and hope this helps anyone who is contemplating spending their hard earned money at a salon that has business practices like Smoothbar.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Joanna, we have done everything in our power to ensure that your mom received the treatment that met her expectations and needs.
It is protocol for us to do a thorough consultation with our retuning clients that have not been in in several years to make sure that they receive the treatment that will best suit their needs and hair goals. A lot can change in 4 years so we had our stylist Maribel that is a fluent Spanish speaker assist your mom with her consultation since you were not available to come in to translate for her. She was told in great detail that all of our services are thermally activated and she would need to blowdry her hair at home to achieve the smoothest and straightest results. Because her main concerns were that she wanted to maintain volume and have a 2-3 level curl reduction the Brazilian Renewal was the appropriate choice for that result, not the Global Keratin. She did have the authority to decide what treatment she wanted to have done and she decided to go with the stylist’s recommendation.
When you and your mom came back in for us to assess her hair, we had determined that the treatment was working exactly as expected. Considering the fact that she is using products at home that are known to prematurely strip out the treatments, it had been a month since the day of her treatment, she is only air drying her hair at home, and she has not had a service done in 4 years to piggy back off of; her results were actually more intense than I would expect them to be when thermally activated with the use of a blowdryer and simply finger combing her hair. It immediately went smooth and frizz free.
All of our services are meant to be thermally activated with the heat of a blowdryer, we will never promise perfectly straight frizz free hair with any of our treatments when air drying. Because the service worked as expected and she was made fully aware of her options and she was told how to maintain her service we believe that a 50% discount was more than appropriate to rectify the situation.

My hair is normally a curly messy puff ball. I got the Brazilian renewal and it has absolutely made my hair 1000% times more manageable. I don't have a picture of the natural curl, but the first photo is of my hair blow dried, then straightened, then in a French braid. The second photo is after I got the treatment done and just let it air dry! I always hate when people show an after photo from right after the salon and not the first wash, since the product is straightened into your hair, of course it's going to look stick straight when you leave. Love love love the outcome!

I can shower, quickly blow dry and it is smooth and straight and manageable! The customer service here is also wonderful. It was raining the day of my service and they walked me to my car underneath an umbrella when my hair was finished! Highly recommend!

I came in to try something new with my hair, and after an easy consultation they decided what I was looking for was the super smooth treatment. It really smoothed out my waves and gave me more of a straight look that I could work with more easily, and my hair felt so soft after the treatment!
