The session was just what I wanted, private, and confidential, with the understanding that my wife, GP and maybe the police might need to know if I am deemed to be on the verge of self-harming or harming others - which I am not - and also the psychotherapist's supervisor is also included in the sharing of confidential info. The therapist listened very well and took a lot of info on board expertly. He invited my trust. We both worked well together. I am looking forward to the next session very much.
