• Mia went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and confident that she would do everything to make me feel and look my best when I go to federal court next week to give my testimony and face cross examination in my aggravated kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon case. Since this has happened to me, I've been distressed by nightmares which have me scratching at my face to fight off the final assault before I escaped which specifically focused on my hair, face, and throat. She made me feel safe and understood during my consultation, which I can only imagine must have been weird for her, but she never once made me feel like I wasn't worth trying to help. I am looking forward to my next appointment, and it is so good to feel like I have something to look forward to in my future, even more so because it is something tied to a court proceeding which I have been in a state of tensely coiled horror at the thought of. I feel reassured that I can reclaim sovereignty over my physical and personal image and identity due to Mia's calm and caring energy and her own quiet confidence in her skill that have already lightened burden which I didn't realize the weight of until she helped me let go of. I know this is a lot, but I cannot express how much this means to me to NOT be worrying over and feeling ashamed about my hair right now. 🥲😌☺️
