A unique experience to say the least. Doc booked me a massage and cupping appointment before Thanksgiving for Black Friday.

When we arrived and checked in then we entered a very tranquil hallway with Xmas lights. Like the photos we saw on Yelp the treatment area is on a perhaps a foot above the ground flat surface with thin fabric to lie on and a thin sheet to cover yourself after you remove everything except your panty.

The area is longer and wider than a regular massage table. Yikes, in my state how was I going to maneuver up to the face down pillow perhaps 6 feet away. Inch worm move for sure!

I was scheduled with Hong V a petite gentle therapist. The cubicle is dimly lit and there is calming instrumental music throughout your session. First it sounded like native Indian flutes then sometimes Asian sounds.

You are face down and she begins wiping both feet with a warm towel. There is pressure from your toes to your ankles. Next it seems like she is over your body with her knees pressing into your legs while her hands are outreached moving up your back. Your face is head down so I'm pretty much guessing what I was experiencing. I was expecting my arms and legs to be stretched like a massage I had at a spa in Thailand years ago. Nothing like that, just very gentle pressure as I requested.

Before she began she asked where I wanted her to focus on. She did concentrate on my glutes but also massaged my arms then ended with me face up and worked on my neck and then a scalp massage.

Although I had come for cupping also she said she would not do cupping since I was diabetic. I was kind of like whaaat??? A bit disappointed but at the same time relieved that I wouldn't have those red welts on my back.

Halfway through the massage Hong told me you can have hot stones since you're not having cupping. Ooh yay, sounds good to me.

After I got dressed I saw so many shoes and footwear outside the closed doors in the hallway. Very busy place but so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

The receptionist there is very sweet too.

LOOSE AND LIMBER

The only time one should feel and be "loose and limber" would be after a massage session here. Today was a special day and I wanted to end it with complete relaxation and what came to mind was THAI MASSAGE. However I've had many traditional Thai Massages but never THAI SPORTS MASSAGE. And oddly, I have never had cupping so I added that to the package. In the end, it hurts so good and well worth the Dalmatian of oversized hickies all over the backside.

:: SESSION ::
They are on the dot with their appointment times. No outfit would be given so come in fresh undergarments as you will be topless and in underwear with a sheet over you. Don't come bloated, their pressure would squeeze the fart out of you (and no, this did NOT happen to me). Also, don't come with lashes - by the time I sat up my lashes were twisted like a jungle.

Thai Sports Massage (60 min)
GAIL IS AMAZING! Gail is my gal. Thai Sports Massage involves oil where as regular Thai Massage does not as it is really focuses on pressure points. My session, we did focus on pressure points but with oil it felt less aggressive when they apply pressure. I went with medium pressure on the back but more pressure around the shoulder and neck. It was full body (back, arms, hands, legs, feet, neck, and then head). First, Gail massaged my back without oil and hitting those pressure points. She loosened me up. Then she applied oil and did more work on my back and the rest of my body. It felt SO good. Then she took a cup and instead of sticking the cup on skin she rolled it all over my back. This hurt... but in a good way! She massaged my back some more and then the cupping begun.

Cupping -
First time cupper! It hurts so good. How did it make me feel? The suction was so deep I felt like my soul was being sucked out of me. It was an odd feeling I wasn't yet use to. Two cups had to be readjusted because it was a little too much for me to handle. The rest, I held it in and managed through it. At the same time I felt a burning/hot sensation for a few minutes and that hurt (mainly on my lower back). But then after several minutes that burning sensation goes away and it starts to feel so good. When the suction releases there may be pink/redish circles aka Dalmatian of oversized hickies.

While the cupping was taking place she continued to massage me as well. Loved it loved it loved it. At the end I flipped over and she massaged my head and neck. Couldn't do my faces/temples as I still have my recovering facial injuries from my accident. And then we ended it with a nice back stretch with my arms pulled back as far is it can go. I feel amazing!

I cannot wait to see Gail again. She's so pleasant to talk to and is really good at gauging pressure and how to go about your massage needs.

Thai Sport Massage is excellent. I have had a few service providers and all have been good. I see Kylie on a regular basis now and she is phenomenal.

Today I tried cupping for the first time. I was hesitant bc of the temporary marks but decided to give it a try after her recommendation. So glad I did! It really gives another experience to the massage.

I request deep pressure and that is exactly what I get every time. I feel really great after and the price is very reasonable. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The environment is professional and very relaxing.

THE best massage I've ever had...& I've been to many on the east & west coasts from small office settings without any bells & whistles to luxurious spas. I've always struggled w/back pain so been getting massages for 20+ yrs. I even got my former boss (C-level Exec) back in SD hooked on this place & he's a pretty tough critic. Veronica is god sent & I SO miss her now that I'm back East. She understood the body & functionality behind each muscle so was able to target my pain. Veronica was a true masseur who had the proper training to be able to provide the expert level massages/bodywork. She also was so very pleasant & personable. Unfortunately she's no longer practicing @ this office but I would honestly recommend anyone here esp since my boss has tried others (including Mimi). The rooms are very peaceful & relaxing w/a comfortable mat that lays on a raised platform.

So you don't have the luxury spa bells & whistles if that's the experience you're desiring. This office is located in an office building but you wouldn't guess upon entering the massage rooms. However if you want a true, authentic body altering Thai massage, this is your place! Highly recommend!!!

It's still heaven. 90 min of pain relief. I highly recommend this place. They are amazing!

The one and only place I get my Sport Thai Massage! 90 minutes is the minimum (and the regular I get) for a good work in. This place is legit, and they take HSA!

Blown away by how good the massage was with Gail. I decided to go all in on a 120 minute massage with cupping. Gail knew exactly where the problem areas were and how deep to go with pressure. She was good about checking in with me on the level of pressure applied. Cupping was very helpful for recovery. I liked how clean and modern this location is. Easy parking. Easy to book appointment times. You can pay with credit card. There are some incentives for first time customers on their website. I've been speaking their praises to friends ever since my massage experience. I'll be back soon.

The best Thai massage place in entire San Diego! I have tried multiple massage therapists in both sorrento valley and Rancho Bernardo locations and I am very happy with most of them. None of them harass you for tips either! Thai sports massage is the best mix of deep tissue and Thai massage and it truly relaxes your body. However they are quite expensive $$$$ compared to other places in the area and their prices are constantly increasing! That is the only reason why I knocked off one star.

A nice Modern clean Thai massage place. It's not like those hole in the wall massage places. They offer online bookings which is great. I usually get the traditional Thai massage and occasionally add on cupping. It's amazing and helps relief pain, tension and helps soothe my muscles.

Rucker is the most amazing massage therapist. I have the ThaiSport 90-minute every time, and I keep going back!
