Sunshine cares so much for her clients. She is skilled and professional with her craft. I am a chiropractor and have referred a lot of patients to her. They always come back with raving reviews!

I nearly pitched my Groupon after reading the reviews but decided my need for a massage was too great. I agree with Kimberly E. on the atmosphere, but would have classified it as utilitarian and simple. Sheets were blue & blanket green, which doesn't give off the "I've been sterilized" feeling but they were definitely clean. My therapist did a good job, although I circled my head on the "where do you hurt" chart & he never touched my head! He has great hands and his technique for spine and calves were spot on! I enjoyed our conversation (he's a foodie) as much as the massage.
Owner could make a few changes to improve the place if she wants to better serve clients getting a $70 massage:
1. Invest in higher thread count sheets and blankets (white only!) and add a heating layer so the bed is warm when the client lays down.
2. Give client a bottle of water vs plastic cup post massage.
3. Have massage therapist wait in lobby vs right at door for client.
Bottom line: good massage but not a luxury massage experience. Worth using Groupon to check out for yourself.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - L H.Northeast Portland, Portland, OR6932Feb 1, 2013
I got a deep tissue massage here because of a living social deal. I read the reviews before I came, so I didn't expect much. I got a good massage and can't complain.
My therapist was professional and effective. She was able to get into my tight areas with a good amount of pressure. The place is not a luxurious resort, but clean and simple, in-line with what I paid. The walls are a little thin but they played soothing music to help mask the noise. The check-in was quick and easy. Overall, I would recommend for a budget massage.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim N.Lenexa, KS15665760Nov 24, 2013
I see Shawn and he is really good. He specializes in deep tissue massage and that is what I need. I carry a lot of stress in my neck and shoulders and need someone that can work the knots out of my muscles.
They have a simple set up in a building that is 1/2 a bank and the other half different businesses. You walk in the building turn left pass the restroom and a couple other offices and they are in the back.
Your greeted and made to feel welcomed. They have nice soft chairs to wait in and soft music.
The rooms are small and cozy. The tables look like the are made of bamboo and look weak, but then I remember bamboo is super strong and realize even if they look weak they are not and they are stable.
You have plenty of time to get ready before and after your massage and they have water ready for you when you check out. I am always relaxed afterwards and will be back soon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Kim, we know it's been a while, but it's still so great to hear about how much you love our place and the massages by Shawn. Thank you for your many compliments, and we hope we'll have the pleasure of seeing you again sometime very soon!
All our best,

A total dump of a place. The staff wasn't friendly at all. When we made the appt we asked if they performed prenatal massages and they said yes. They gave no other indication otherwise and when we showed up for our appt they wouldn't perform the massage on me without a doctors note of consent. Very frustrating because they never told us that in the first place. The receptionist was rude and overall the place wasn't clean or welcoming.

Living Social deal gone wrong. The space itself is dirty, uninviting with bare minimum decorations . Feels and looks like an old doctors office. The bathroom is a communal building bathroom. The reception consisted of two people up front flirting and me feeling out of place and uncomfortable while filling out paperwork. I was weary before I even got in the room. The massage was sadly the worst massage I have ever had. Ever. I wanted to get up 10 minutes after it started and just end it. I felt like I not only wasted an hour of my day but was feeling grossed out from the experience as a whole. If you too bought the deal, Im sorry you already spent the money, but I would recommend not going. It is that bad.

I had a 30 minute appointment today that I made yesterday afternoon. When I arrived for my appointment, the guy who took it remembered talking to me, but said I was in the system with no appointment. I asked if it was for a different day and maybe there was a misunderstanding. Nope, nothing! He looked at the massage therapist who was standing there just chatting with him if she could "take care of it". The massage room was barren. The table, a stool, and some corner shelves for a speaker. I guess I should be grateful there was music, though I could barely hear it over the people talking in the next room. The massage was painful and not the good kind. I asked the therapist to lighten up twice before giving up. At the end I went up to pay and she charged me extra for the deep tissue that I didn't want. The only thing I did want at that time was to get out of there.

When I arrived, the receptionist spent 15 minutes booking an apt and refused to aknowledge me until he was done, so my appointment was short 10 min. This ultimately ended up being a good thing because the massage was so poor, she essentially just petted my back until she had to take a bathroom break in the middle...
So. Awkward.
It's located in a clammy basement, has a community bathroom down the hall, the walls are paper thin, and there's weird stickers over the glass windows in the massage rooms. Nothing about this experience was relaxing.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sandy B.Kansas City, MO41202Dec 30, 2013
Therapist was ok but atmosphere not good. Table was not heated and room was cold. Rooms have thin walls and I could hear person at front desk talking on cell phone. Not relaxing.

Ashley gave me the best massage I've received in over 15 years. They can improve their "ambiance", but if what you really want is an excellent deep tissue massage...come to Sunrinity and ask for Ashley.
