• Stylists present themselves w/ professionalism and the stylists do a great job. It’s a peaceful environment and everyone is friendly. I have refered friends to the salon who also had positive things to say after their visit. However, I find the two surcharges for natural hair styling cost under the ‘silk press’ as well as an additional $15 for long hair unfair for the client. I have not been to a salon that has this policy regarding long hair in many years. In fact, I didn’t know that was a practice anymore because I don’t encounter a ‘long hair’ charge at other salons. Caucasian salons don’t do this despite many of their clients having long hair nor am I asked to pay more despite my texture or length at these salons or any other salon I’ve been to in the past ten years. It feels like there is a penalty for having healthy hair that has gown in length which seems a bit contradictory for a salon. I wish this policy could be reconsidered or the charge at least be lowered. It’s the only negative I have of Studio Chique. I usually tip well on my own accord at salons because I have thick hair but being charged extra on two fronts is a bit overkill. I’m not using an additional +$20 of product nor does it take them substantially longer to do my hair. 1 to 1 1/2 hours from start to finish has been the norm. Please reconsider this penalty.
