Stript Wax Bar

This is a late review but now that I have the time to mention this is one of the dirtiest wax bars I ever been to, I realized when I walk into the rooms there is grime and wax all over the floors. Also while waiting in the lobby I've noticed that the regulations are expired, it seems that the health standards are probably not up to date here. The wax carts are all sloppy, and the containers holding the wax are extremely dirty. I wouldn't be surprised if the estheticians double dips here, I for sure won't be coming back.

I've been going to Stript on Union Street for 10+ years, so I was thrilled to learn that they have a Lafayette location! I've gone twice and I'm pleased to report that the experience is consistently positive from location to location. Both aestheticians I had were friendly and thorough. And I of course love the complimentary glass of wine while I wait. :)

We all know being clean is important. Yes, that goes beyond your daily showering and washing clothes. So to all the ladies out there, make sure the area in which the sun doesn't normally shine "in public", gets cleaned up!!

Don't be one of those ladies who says..."It's ok, he doesn't mind hair" or "I'm too old for this S..." because honey, believe me he does mind!! He's just trying be nice. Heck that's probably why you haven't gotten all the action you wish you had.

So to prevent the cobwebs from forming and for the flood gates to open up. You'll need to visit Stript Wax Bar. Heck even Yelp is giving you some helpful hints by providing a deal $20 for $40. All it costs is $60 (Brazilian) or $40 (Bikini) and you will feel like a new woman.

If you're still afraid to try this "somewhat" painful task. Don't be afraid because they provide you an Anesthetic Numbing spray. Although it doesn't completely numb you down there, it does help ease the pain. They also use hard wax versus the standard wax with cloth strips.

Oh ya can't forget the men out there!! They even have something for you guys called the Brozilian! Yes you heard me right BROZILIAN!! If you want somethin' somethin' from us ladies, then you best believe you need to handle your jungle.

On the flip side, they offer the standard brow, chin, lip, nose, ears and etc. waxes. Ladies make sure you get your lip waxed, don't want to be mistaken for a man (unless that's your thing) and guys please handle your uni-brow. Having one is not considered sexy, by no means.

In conclusion, Stript Wax Bar is a great place for a wax, friendly people and clean environment. Go visit them and trust me you will have a life changing experience when you show your SO.

If you love waxing I promise this is the best place hands down! My experience was very professional and painless. The customer service at the front desk was very professional as well as super friendly. The shop was well maintained and clean. Not only was my visit made comfortable for me beyond words I left satisfied. I couldn't give this salon anything less then a 5. This salon was everything and more. Thanks for making my first experience the start to my never ending waxing journey!!!

I recently had a great experience here. I had bought a yelp deal but it was unfortunately one-week expired by the time I worked up the courage to use it, so it was good only for the amount I'd paid for it ($20).

The bikini area wax costs $40 here. It's $20 for the same service at Beauty Lounge, which is the only other place I've had this done. Beauty makes you buy your drinks though, and at Stript I was offered complimentary wine when I entered.

The place is small-ish but the room in back gave me ample space to undress. You self-apply a topical anesthetic after using an astringent wipe to clean the areas you're going to wax.

I'm happy with the wax service I received, and felt very comfortable with Megan who talked to me through the process, reminded me to breathe, and explained everything she did. However, for that price I will probably not return.

Also, my husband came in and I suggested he get a nose and ear wax for fun. (hehehe, yeah.... for fun....). He ended up paying my balance ($20) plus $20 for both of his services, but couldn't pay this amount together and had to make two separate transactions. It's not a big deal but seems like something that can be remedied for customer convenience. He pulled pieces of wax out of his nose and ears the next day as well, and one of his ears was really red and painful, but it's better now (and looks great).

I LOVE LOVE this cute little boutique style wax bar!!! It's absolutely divine and very chic looking on the inside! the customer service, the décor, the champagne, private rooms, individual attention & the cookies are AMAZING!!!I love the fact that the girls are really friendly, hard wax is used instead of the strip wax! I can't say more about how much I love this place!

I used to go to European wax bar which is more well known but I soon stopped!!! It seemed like they were always rushing me, trying to get everything done fast, and always looked like they were timed to get to the next client waiting outside the door. I love the individual and personalized attention I get when I go to Stript wax bar. I always request the same girl when I make my appointments, Jessica is amazing (the blonde one), she's gentle, doesn't make it hurt, and takes her time. Overall I love the whole vibe of this place and I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

When I was a little girl i couldn't wait to be a woman. Yeah, love being a woman but there's a lot of maintenance sometimes. Waxing and shaving in all sorts of areas. I didn't know of this hassle as a little girl.

This it's one of the very few places that does HARD wax especially in the area where the sun don't shine. It isn't as scary as it sounds. But waxers out there need to know of this option. It is so much better. Trust me.

My only gripe (1 less star) is that I've had appointment issues here. The first time I had to cancel and I gave them plenty of notice and it was confirmed over the phone. But I received a call asking about my status for the appointment. I had to explain that i called and cancelled (thanks to my phone i was ankle to give the day and time) and then I was asked who i spoke with...i don't know. I don't feel that I need to do that.

My first visit over the weekend....I, of course, made a appointment. They did not have me down when I arrived. The front desk asked me if I made it for this location since there are other locations. I live in Lafayette, of course I did. I was a little miffed since both times I'm made to feel like it's my error. Luckily, someone, Liz, was available and she was great.

I got an eyebrow wax with Reyna at the Lafayette location of Stript Wax Bar. I cannot speak to the other waxers at this wax bar, but Reyna was less than satisfactory. I gave two stars instead of one because my eyebrows looked nice. However, the wax was way too hot and I got three burns on my right brow that are still clearly visible twenty four hours later. I will not be returning.

I had the best service! And the best outcome at Stript when I had an appointment with Aera she is very knowledgeable about the products and was very gentle. I am coming back again and again because of her!!
