What a story for you. I left NYC during the second exodus of covid, during the riots, with my two kids and now ex husband. I love my life upstate, I have a job I love, my life is full of love. I was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma six months ago, went through twelve rounds of chemo, had a pet scan today (cross fingers) but felt very existential about my life up until now. I did musical and performance art during my fourteen years in the city and really wondered what would have happened if I had been into dance instead. There’s not a lot of daytime adult classes up here and I’ll probably take a community class at Garth Fagen but I really wanted to cultivate a discipline for my own personal style while really holding onto parts of the city that were worthy of my time and energy while still loving my life hours away. So thank you and I’ll be back (even as not great as I am but I’m totally okay with that).
