Best spa day great for couples Iqbal and Zo were amazing! Both of us felt so relaxed afterwards.

I was traveling to Portland for a conference and made a bit of time in my schedule to enjoy a massage before a long plane ride. I booked the appointment the day prior and received a confirmation text the evening before which included a door code to enter the spa. Knowing that this technology was in place helped me feel more comfortable, trying a new spot in the heart of the city.

I arrived just a few minutes before my service, and was greeted at the door by Sonia, the service provider. She was lovely and welcomed me into the spa and back to a calm, waiting area where there were water and some prepackaged granola bars available while I waited for her to finish setting up the room. The relaxation area was quiet, dimly lit by salt, lamps and tea, lights, and there was the soft sound of a fountain.

When Sonia came back to take me to the treatment room, she noted that we were starting a little bit early, and assured me that she would make sure to still provide a 50 minute service if my schedule allowed. It did, and she did. She asked about any ailments or spots that I would like her to focus on, and it was clear that she targeted those spots, while also providing an incredibly relaxing and soothing, full body massage.

Sonia was wonderfully skilled, she was welcoming and conversational, but I appreciated that she followed my cues to not be super chatty during the service. She checked in on the heat at the table, the positioning of the bolsters, and the pressure she was applying. She also offered a selection of aromatherapy sense, and I opted for eucalyptus. It was not overpowering, but a lovely (& complimentary -- I can't believe some spots charge for aromatherapy!!) addition to the treatment.

I will absolutely be back to this spot on my next visit to Portland. It can feel a bit risky to try a new spa for a service like a massage while traveling... But I'm grateful to previous reviewer's on yelp, who helped me if you were confident in booking this appointment. And I hope this review helps others feel confident doing the same!

From start to finish my experience was wonderful. I received great help and information on the phone, allowing me to really customize my experience to meet my needs. Started with a 30min sauna and then the honey massage right after. (Which felt perfect, helped my body relax prior to the massage) I was put in my own changing room, given a robe, slippers, towels and a safe space to leave my things, along with my own sauna room, with a shower and water and even Netflix in the sauna?!
Then the massage! Iqbal Kana (the masseuse) was so warm and welcoming and the massage so relaxing and nourishing for my body. The mimosa and chocolate at the end was the cherry on top.
I was met with so much kindness I will absolutely be coming back and recommending Sassé to my friends!

I came for a couples massage with my husband and I was so glad to get Iqbal Kana as my massage therapist. I think I found the best massage therapist in Portland! I had a migraine and he did an amazing job with pressure points in my neck, face and scalp. His quality of touch is very high. I can't wait to come back to Portland and book another massage with Iqbal.

This was my first massage experience and it was amazing! The spa itself had such a calming atmosphere, it truly is a hidden oasis in the city. We booked the Moonstruck Massage and it was great, just what we needed. Both masseuses made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We had an hour session but since we felt so relaxed, the time just flew by. Having the chocolate truffles and sparkling cider afterwards was the perfect way to end our spa date. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the city!

If you're in Portland all the time, or only popping in, do yourself a favor and go to Spa Sasse. I'm a weary traveler, shlepping suitcases and backpacks and computer bags all over the place. I always need a massage, but I seldom get one. It always feels too self indulgent, too expensive, too everything. So, when I saw how inexpensive massages are at Sasse for the amount of time allotted, I jumped at the chance. I'm so glad I did. Heaven. Absolute heaven. I started with a little infrared treatment just to do some deep tissue work, and then my massage therapist, Iqbal Kana, gave me the best massage of my life. You will not be disappointed by any portion of your spa visit here. The vibe is serene, the staff are lovely, and you will leave in a blissed out, relaxed, floaty-type of state. Enjoy. I'm jealous you're going to go and I won't be able to until I'm in Portland again, someday.

I've never left a massage review after a massage before and I have had well over 100 massages. Iqbal is life changing-best massage I've ever had. Definitely recommend!
