Skin And Body Refinery

Had a great experience here for a sugaring Brazilian. I was so bummed when another place canceled my appointment 30 minutes prior to start time and decided to call Skin and Body Refinery-even though their website said they were booked for weeks.The receptionist took the time to talk to Kim and got me a last minute appointment for the same day. When I arrived everyone was so nice and inviting. Kim was very professional, didn't waste any time, and was so efficient. She made me feel comfortable, talking to me about my trip to Waco and things to do and see. She was so calming and was a great distraction. Less painful than even other sugaring experiences I've had. Visiting from across the country, it's hard to find places for the services you usually get at home. I'm so glad I called and they were able to work with me to get me an appointment same day! Would totally return!

Very pleased! I've been to many, many doctors and aestheticians all over the US - from Dr. Sheila Nazarian in LA to Trifecta MedSpa in NYC - so I've got a decent sense of how knowledgeable and skilled practitioners are. (For example: I'll "joke" about having my platysmal bands removed, and it becomes clear the person has no idea that platysmotomies are even a thing. Yeah. I just have them Botox my crows feet and be on my way.)

I quickly got the feeling that Dr. Smith both knows a LOT about facial structure and has some aesthetic sense, so I was willing to go for something a little more involved than I'd normally be: 7 syringes of Bellafill in temples and under eye.

Despite popping Arnicas for 2 days prior, I swelled up unrecognizable after the 2nd treatment (3 syringes). The 4 photos left to right are: before, immediately after, 36 hours after, and 6 days after.

So obviously if you get a few syringes of filler, maybe don't schedule an appearance that week, and don't freak out if you swell up like I did. (From what I can gather, I'm in a minority of people who swell up this badly.)

Dr. Smith knows that he's doing and I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in Waco.

I've gone to The Skin and Body Refinery for a variety of services and am always impressed. Dr. Smith is kind, attentive, and thoroughly considers your needs before starting a treatment plan or rendering services. He is highly intelligent and thoughtful. I'm never afraid to ask questions or express concerns. He has gentle hands and injections or peels that normally hurt with others don't with him. I won't go to anyone else for services. And no one does Bellafill as well as he does. He is hands down the best in the state.

Anastasia, the massage therapist, is highly professional, courteous, and gives excellent massages. She is well trained in a variety of massage types as well as cupping. She is pleasant to talk to and always checks in during the massage to ensure the pressure is appropriate for my needs. Some massage therapists talk too much or do not check in but she hits a sweet spot and is just right. I HIGHLY recommend her for massages.

I will not be going back. The main reason for 2 stars is Amy, she does wonderful facials and is very good with her hands. I had scheduled my appointment for a Monday, because they had no availability for the Tuesday I'd preferred, then got a text confirming that my appointment was on Tuesday. That was not correct. I got charged $156 twice after telling the front desk girl that I already paid. She was also the one who messed up my scheduled appointment. I also saw the "doctor" looking at freaking YouTube videos in the next room before his client. Did he not know what to do? I will not be going back.

Absolutely love my lashes and Kim , first visit and will certainly be returning . Can't wait to try all the spa stuff they have to offer. The location is wonderful and a beautiful atmosphere clean and relaxing. From my first phone call kind and professional and answered all my questions.

On June 19, 2018 I went to The Skin and Body Refinery to discuss Bellafill injections. After discussing the contents of the filler and the length of time the product would work, I decided to get the injections by Dr. Smith who works for The Skin and Body Refinery. Dr. Smith said that he would follow up with me that evening, which he did not. I needed to speak to Dr. Smith due to the pain and extreme bruising. I called The Skin and Body Refinery every hour the following day and no one answered the phone. The receptionist called the next day and left a message that they were having difficulties with their phone system. I tried calling her back to no avail.

On June 28, nine days after my Bellafill procedure, I received a message from Dr. Smith stating he was returning my phone call. He stated, "everyone was out on vacation so I'm here alone and when I'm doing a service or a procedure, I can't get to the phone, so I just do my best trying to juggle the front desk and clients."

The bottom line, The Skin and Body Refinery is inept in customer service and care. I spent a large sum of money on the Bellafill injections and have seen no significant results. The two representatives from Bellafill that were at The Skin and Body Refinery that day continually said during the procedure that it would take time to see the results. It's been over one month, and I've seen no significant results. I am extremely disappointed in their customer service and care and would not recommend this business for any type of skin care treatments.

Flew some family members from California to Waco for two spa days at Skin & Body Refinery. The best experience with Dr. Smith and his dedicated staff. Our facials were wonderful and very relaxing.
Dr. Smith worked on our faces and his staff spent time with us individually recommending the right skin care products and regimen.
We are coming back.

This establishment is clean and the staff is friendly. I did the express facial with microdermabrasion and it was a great experience. I looked online and they had a special for $45 for the fall. My face looks and feels smoother. I was also enlightened about other procedures like microneedling which I hope to try later. I recommend this place if you're looking to get a facial or try microdermabrasion.

Dr. Smith's reputation brought me from Los Angeles. The facilities and staff are in keeping with any spa I've visited in Southern California. The doctor's consultation and explanation were very personable and made every step of my procedure easy to understand. Destiny is an exemplary interface to the public. Jeanette gave excellent individualist treatment and recommendation of product. I highly recommend the services at the Refinery to anyone interested in non surgical enhancement.

Cool space with lots of potential but poorly managed. My service started 15 minutes late so my 60 minute massage was 45 minutes, even though I arrived 20 minutes early. Daisy who answers the phone lacks clear communication and organizational skills. Another pair of women ahead of us had to be rescheduled for 3 hours later because there was no record of the appointment they made a week earlier. I didn't receive my B12 injection because no one had scheduled a time with the doctor, despite my scheduling the service prior. The massage therapist is skilled and the treatment room comfortable. I think this place has big ideas but staff needs training on customer service and scheduling. When we checked out, the massage therapist asked the desk person to run the credit card, she was told "I'm off the clock." The best services in the world mean nothing when a disorganized and poorly trained staff cause stress and frustration while clients are trying to relax and enjoy self care.
