Welcome to Serenity Wellness Center, a unique Holistic center in Media PA that truly integrates mind and body, and traditional and alternative healing modalities. For over 20 years, we have offered treatments that focus on stress and pain reduction, massage and bodywork services, body shaping and skin care as well as couples and individual counseling, coaching and consultation. We offer Corporate Wellness Programs Including Leadership and Stress Management Coaching and Corporate Chair Massage. Our Licensed and Certified Medical Massage Therapists are able to provide everything from relaxation massage for stress management to specific medical massage for general pain or injury and auto and worker's comp.

Helen does amazing facials and my eyebrows have never looked better. She listens and provide through services tailored to my specific needs at each session. Bless gives the most relaxing and through deep tissue massages. I have tried several other places in the area and will not go anywhere else.

I will admit I was a little annoyed at pre- registration at the website like other reviewers have mentioned. I think it's because no one else makes you do this plus I found it to be fairly comprehensive. So when I called to make the appointment for my massage and was asked further questions it became repetitive.
But when I entered Serenity I was happy to be warmly greeted and taken right in for my massage so it was worth it.
And then it all made sense. This was the first time ever I wasn't sitting outside a massage room filling out paperwork before a massage. So that meant no one else would be sitting outside my room during my massage filling out their own paperwork and perhaps asking questions and interrupting an ongoing massage with questions and possibly loud talking.
Onto my massage: it was One hour of pure relaxing, muscle loosening bliss. The room was dark and it seem to have been soundproofed in some manner because although it is located on busy Baltimore Pike I couldn't hear a sound from outside.
I fell asleep and awakened to zero muscle aches. I enjoyed it enough to purchase 2 gift certificates upon check out. NOTE: the 50% of gift certificates are only good for 3 months.
Daughter's massage: she reports that her 2 month long back and neck pain disappeared during her massage and has not returned 2 weeks later. She is a big fan and will also return.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Dee, thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review. It means so much to us. I'm so happy that you get our different intake procedure. It can certainly seem cumbersome to new clients but really helps us in delivering the best service possible. We want our waiting area to be as quiet and peaceful as possible. ( not to mention not having to search through paper intake forms is a blessing.)

I often purchase Groupon discount vouchers so I can try new places and most of them I use only once and never return. My appointment was this afternoon but before I left I made a new one so I can return in a few weeks.....that's how much I liked this place. Helen did my facial, it was so relaxing and my skin looked and felt great when I left.
If you know media you also know there's no Parking anywhere but serenity has onsite free parking so there's no worry about driving around for 20 minutes to find an empty space.

He listens to your needs and concerns. The price is reasonable . It's not like a spa that has drinks and the extras but the massage is wonderful there.

Ugh...why didn't I read the reviews all the way through?!?! My bad! I should have read all the reviews before I tried to make an appointment. They require an intake form on their website before they even think of booking the appointment That should have been the first red flag! Then they ask all sorts of personal questions onto form. Then they DEMAND a credit card, will charge you on it in case you are late or cancel the appointment! I had a paid in advance certificate from friends through Groupon and this didn't seem right. Why should I give them credit card information. So many scams out there, I was really hesitant! Lisa the receptionist was very nice and heard that was upset and suggested I speak with the owner, Helen. I waited all afternoon and she never called. I can't be bothered. I told my friends and they traded in the coupons for a try elsewhere.

Phila, I just saw your review so I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.
Yes, we require an on line intake form before you make your appointment. It asks very basic information we need for your client file. We do this to save you time and ensure Acuracy of our records.
Pa law requires medical information to safely treat. We ask the basics when you schedule to make sure you don’t have any contraindications. We ask more thorough info when you come in.
Finally We do require a credit card to book. We don’t charge you unless you don’t give proper cancellation notice. We began implementing this at Groupon’s suggestion. It has cut down on no shows tremendously.
I did return your call within two hours of your request but by that time you had already gotten your certificate refunded.
We stand by our policies. We are grateful we already had these in place. In response to Covid -19, So many facilities are scrambling to implement electronic records and the ability to decrease waiting room time.
We’re happy we have put these safety precautions in place for years! Now it’s paying off!

Laurie is very accurate with her readings, you never have to say too much before she explains to you what the cards and the spirits tell her, I have been to other readers and so far she is one of the most accurate mediums, I have ever experienced.. I will continue to come to her for future readings

Save yourself some time and think again before booking an appointment here. I found them via Groupon and this business is asking for perspective customer to jump through too many hoops to actually book an appointment. I understand policy but how hard do you want to make people work to give your business money for a service that they sought you out for? This review is based off of an attempt to schedule an appointment to learn that you need to complete an intake form. Ok I get that to an extent. Then call the perspective client and have them provide you with a groupon code. Does it seem like people run around with groupon codes or even know if they want to make an appointment in the first place. Why are businesses out here wasting people's time like competition isn't real and there are other options.

Sabrina, from our records you are not a client of ours. I see from your profile you are in Massachusetts, about 7 hours away from us. In answer to your concerns, it clearly states in the Groupon listing of our deal that the first step is to fill out our intake form ( which is very short. It asks for the most basic information to get you scheduled . Then call for an appointment ). This enables people to do it at their leisure and when they have the Groupon code in front of them. ( it has a spot to put in the name of the service and Groupon redemption code) it also asks if you have any health concerns we should know about.
We do it this way for several reasons.
#1 it is MUCH more convenient for our clients. They do not have to verbally give us all the info and wait while we type it in.
#2. We often have clients with very thick accents or with bad cell connections. It is very frustrating for those clients to have to spend precious time while we get the basic info of who they are and what they are scheduling for.
#3. As you stated, clients often do not have the voucher info on them. We cannot schedule until we know what you are scheduling for.
#4. If there are any known contradictions we are able to get your doctors clearance before hand. If we were to wait to discover that the day of you would have wasted your time coming out for an appointment that we could not safely deliver.
#5. Pennsylvania requires electronic records and has since 2017. While many facilities are not in compliance, we are. By having your entire intake electronic, every therapist who works on you can easily review your information and deliver customized service.
#6. It can take quite a bit of our receptionists time waiting on hold while a client checks their schedule, asks questions, writes down directions etc. during this time we are focused entirely on that client and other callers go to voicemail. Manually taking the info we must have would dramatically increase that time, thus making more people we must call back.
Even with the intake, clients forget to put the Groupon info in, we can try and look it up for them but often the info can not be found. ( if it was a gift, purchased under a different name etc)
Then we must wait while they look it up, go out to their car for the voucher, etc...
Anyway we can cut down this time is valuable to us, thus allowing us to service more people in a timely manner. The intake form does that very effectively. ( we will help if someone is having trouble, is elderly or not computer savvy etc.)
After a potential client fills out the intake form they call us and we quickly review it to make sure there are no typos. ( clients often have typos of important information). Then we proceed to booking the appointment.
When the client comes in, they fill out the rest of the intake form which takes less than 2 minutes of time.
This ensures that we are delivering the very best service customized for that clients needs.
We’ve been around for over 20 years and have seen many places come and go.
The vast majority of our negative reviews is about this process and from people who have never actually been to our facility. Clients don’t understand it because other facilities don’t ask for this info. Well other places are putting you at risk. People don’t realize there are contradictions for services but there are. Many facilities are only concerned about your money, they cut corners and don’t follow the law.
We are not willing to put our clients at risk because they don’t want to take 3 minutes to fill out a form. You only have to fill out the form once, any updates can be done verbally.
Hopefully that answers your concerns. I highly encourage you to actually come in for services if you are ever in the area.

So, I found Serenity Wellness Center back through Groupon when I was looking for a facial after having an allergic reaction to antibiotics.
Helen, who did my facial and has several times thereafter is absolutely amazing and really takes the time to customize and put thought into what would be best for my skin. Since seeing her, my skin has been in a much better place than the past, and much of the terrible acne and hyperpigmentation I've struggled with well throughout my teenage years up until now is really well under control. Her recommendations for my skin care routine and what products not to use have really been a lifesaver and now I'm very satisfied with my routine and overall feel better about looking at my face in the mirror which is something I've struggled with for a long time.
John, who does the therapeutic massages, I started going to about three weeks ago after severe and painful knots in my neck from constant stress and migraines. I had tried another place in Media and though the woman was very nice and pleasant, it was incredibly painful and I left with a migraine and not feeling relaxed. After seeing John for several weeks, my shoulders have been much better and he has taken the time to recommend stretches and exercises that keep my tension from getting out of control.
On both their parts, whenever I got to Serenity Wellness Center, I never feel pressured to get any particular services and I really feel like my care and wellbeing is important and it's not just about pushing out generic services to make money. I purchased a Groupon for Serenity. I went this past Wednesday for a dermatological facial plus a regular facial and I was NOT disappointed!! Helen was amazing. She explained everything that she was doing. A very kind and soft spoken person. I definitely recommend giving Serenity a try. It was the BEST facial I ever had!!!!
