Once located in the heart of San Francisco s SOMA / Financial District, Satori Yoga Studio was forced to shutter its physical location in 2020. We have since joined TendWell Collective, co-founded by Satori founder Andrea Stern. At TendWell, we imagine a world of inclusive, community-oriented wellness centers and healing spaces that explore new organizational models, uplift teachers, embody social justice, and cultivate curiosity and change.

Hi Yasmeen, Sadly, we were not able to hold on to our downtown location through the pandemic, so we are currently looking for another space for in-person classes.

I have always been a fan of Satori Yoga. I love the genuine laid back vibe about it. Everyone is welcome. Whether it's your first time doing yoga or you've been doing it for years - they have something for everyone.
I have been particularly impressed with the way that they have pivoted during these crazy times. They now have online classes - as well as in-person outdoor yoga classes - which take place at both Golden Gate Park as well as Dolores Park. Starting soon - they will be launching a Flow and Restore class with live soothing guitar as well as a Laughter Yoga + Meditation class.
They also now have a book club which discusses racism and exclusion within the yoga and wellness industries.
There are a slew of yoga studios out there - but Satori has always felt the most accessible to me. Their staff seem to truly cary about cultivating community and helping people fit yoga into their life in a meaningful and effective way.

I find it unpretentious and I really enjoy the variety of meditation and beginner classes which are ideal for a mid-day work break.
I am only now starting to revisit doing yoga so the mellow yoga classes here have been wonderful. It's been easy to pop on over during my break and change in their dressing rooms. The afternoon classes are well timed - so I also have time to pick up some lunch before heading back to the office.
I appreciate how they have storage areas within the actual yoga room for your valuables. Though I do agree with one of the reviewers that some of the rooms can be on the louder side due to the lobby area being so close-by both main yoga rooms - I also know that it's not easy to find quiet and big spaces to rent in the Financial District.
If you're new to yoga check out Satori.

I'm almost done with completing a Groupon deal with this studio! The location is PERFECT. It is exactly .5 miles away from my work... so running to and from the studio is a nice 1 mile jog.
I've never been to a yoga studio that really used yoga blocks, straps, boosters and even chairs so much before! And I've been doing yoga for years. This yoga really focuses on having good form and the instructors are fantastic about giving you attention on when something needs to be fixed. What really stands out about this place are the instructors. I really feel like they care about you progressing in your yoga practice and that they also really care about you.
In addition, they incorporate essential oils scents into some of their classes which is a fun and nice touch that I enjoy! Many other yoga studios just smell like B.O...
What could be improved is their check-in process.. wish there was an easier way like on an iPad independently instead of waiting in line to be checked in individually by the receptionist. But that's not a big deal since it doesn't take longer than a couple minutes.
Another downside is this place is so expensive without the Groupon and that it's really noisy outside despite closing all the windows.
Other than that, I really love this studio and wish I had enough money in my fitness budget to continue going here after the Groupon deal is over!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 17, 2018
Nice yoga studio tucked away in FiDi - not the newest or most outside sound-proof of facilities, but the classes make up for it! One larger studio and one smaller one that is also used for meditation, bathrooms and changing rooms, and it also looks like a massage therapy room as well. Great teachers with plenty of different styles of teaching and yoga. I'm pretty sure they have a lot of the same teachers at YogaWorks, but classes at a lower price point.
I have tried the alignment and regular vinyasa and yoga tune up and have been please so far. Yoga tune up was more restorative, alignment vinyasa was a gentle yet strengthening flow, and the vinyasa 1-3 was good, yet surprisingly sweaty flow! They have all the supplies that you need for the class complimentary except for the mat which you can rent for $2.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 7, 2019
This was my first time at this studio. I signed up for the Vin Yin Fusion class on ClassPass. Very close to the job in the Financial District.
The classroom is small, no windows, and smells oh so good. You can put your shoes in the cubbies outside the room and your stuff in the cubbies in the studio.
The instructor, Mary, was very sweet and easy to talk to from the start. She went through the practice slowly and allowed you to adjust and sink into each posture. With this class, stretching and holding each pose for about five minutes was key. The more active poses started in the beginning to get your body warmed up. Definitely was sweating a little. Thankfully there are fans!
By the end of the practice (and yes you end up flat on your back), I felt so light and relaxed. The lights were low and she sprayed lavender at our feet for an even calmer meditation. I felt any worries or even simple thoughts just float away.
At the end, she was even open to feedback on the class. I have to say, I was impressed. I'm so ready to come back for more classes.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anna C.South San Francisco, CA3155May 30, 2020
Satori is the sanctuary I need to breathe, stretch, and recharge in the city. It is my safe haven to reconnect within amid a like-minded community.
I usually attend classes offered by Megan and Magi and they are fantastic teachers. I love their gentleness, strength, and attentiveness to each student's needs.
The studio is clean. It also provides hot towels infused with aromatherapy oils - a perfect ending to a class.
I am so grateful to have a place to practice yoga before, during, and after work.
I miss going to Satori. I hope they will be open soon. Thankfully they offer live-streaming classes during this pandemic.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Noa D.San Francisco, CA1568271Oct 4, 2021
Incredible studio in the heart of the Financial District. Staff is welcoming and they don't overfill the classes, so you actually have room to move. They have something for everyone - from faster vinyasa to slower yin and restorative along with a teacher who focuses on yoga for all bodies (highly recommend following her Instagram). The studio is welcoming and fosters a community. The owner is passionate and knowledgeable and genuinely cares about everyone coming into the space - which cannot be said about many of the other yoga studios in SF.

Absolutely love Satori. I tried the Vinyasa Flow class with Jennie a couple times through ClassPass and ended up enjoying it so much that I bought the "Urban Yogi" package ($69/month) that includes 4 classes/month and unlimited meditation (offered through a separate company, WITHIN Meditation - that I highly recommend).
My favorite thing about Satori is I've always felt welcomed, even when I was new. I've only been to 2 other studios in the SF (Yoga Tree in Hayes and CorePower in South Beach) so it's hard for me to compare, but I have to say that Satori is the most welcoming out of all 3. It feels accessible to everyone, from beginner to advanced - and emphasizes on the meditative aspects of yoga.
The one potential negative is that Satori might not have the bells and whistles other yoga studios have. There's no fancy, SoulCycle style locker room like they have at CorePower. It's actually a bonus for me because it means membership is a lot more affordable, but I can understand that everyone has different priorities. Satori feels more focused on yoga as a tool for increasing mental wellness, over yoga for physical exercise, or yoga for yoga's sake.
As a newbie, I thought the loaner mats are great (better quality than the one I bought off of Amazon) - but I can understand why more experienced people may disagree. I also liked how the class provides blocks to make poses easier.
And the convenient FiDi location makes it difficult to make excuses to skip class.
Overall, highly recommended!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Emily M.San Francisco, CA1863938Dec 20, 2019
I'd only done yoga a handful of times before signing up for the prenatal yoga series here with Skye, so I was a little hesitant about joining, but heard that yoga was helpful for pregnancy. And it is! Skye was a great instructor for both experienced and new yogis. The class is tailored very well to pregnant women. We did a round-robin at the beginning of each class and shared how we were feeling, achy spots, etc. She remembered who was having back pain or pelvic pain and she provided suggestions to poses for those folks to help. Yoga helped me stretch out spots that were hurting or tight, while also helping me grow stronger.
I took a birth class recently and several of the poses we did in yoga are similar to the best positions to labor in. Yoga has made me more confident in my pregnant body and in the prospect of labor itself. While I think every pregnant person would benefit from prenatal yoga, this was especially helpful to me because I'm expecting twins and my body has changed drastically! So thank you very much Skye and Satori!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 30, 2016
I take yoga not as a form of exercise, but a form of meditation.
I've only been to 3 classes so far, but I've enjoyed all of them. The Vinyasa 1-3 is definitely good for getting back into yoga after being non-active for almost a year.
The location is good in FiDi, and there are plenty of classes spread throughout a day.
Pricing is very fair. 3 intro classes is 45 (15/class), then 5 classes is 85 (17/class).
I enjoy this studio. I recommend it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mims M.San Francisco, CA12860215Feb 2, 2017
I've seen Satori evolve over the last 5 years. Andrea, the owner, is not afraid to change things up (re-arranging the studio to make it easier to change, grab props, etc.) as well as stagger class times so that everyone isn't trying to change at the same time, because she *listens* to her students and staff. Yes, it can get hectic some times - especially with the popular classes - but everyone stays respectful and you can get in and out pretty quickly.
One of the things I love about this place is that there are so many options for classes and styles. Some days, I feel like a vigorous vinyasa class (Atosa, Rebecca), other days, I feel like doing some alignment-based work (Magi, Megan, Anne), and sometimes, I just need to relax and restore (Amy, Raquel, Kim), to name just a few. All the teachers are committed to what they do, and it shows.
I urge newbies to not write off yoga or Satori from just one class/teacher (it's like eating at Taco Bell and saying you don't like Mexican food) as there are so many varying styles to choose from. You will find your favorite class and your favorite teacher to suit your unique needs.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
