"Monday morning and I just happened to be there as we were having our computer system and phone line worked on. As this was one week after we opened and were experiencing technical difficulties. I am not sure if you remember, but I couldn't confirm those times as our computer system was down, but I did say that that time should work and the reservationist would be in touch to confirm those times soon as we are able to get back into the system. Unfortunately I must have messed your number up as I personally called the number I wrote down several times ( our caller ID was down due to the technical difficulties we were experiencing) and even left a message. I remember we didn't have that time slot opened that we had talked about and that I would a later time slot opened that I could put them in. I see now that I must not have had the right number and I apologize for that."
I still have the msg exchange from 2 years ago and am happy to post it you like. You were open and failed to confirm. Why bring this up again now and why lie about what happened.
This is extremely poor behavior. I apologized for my MIL's behavior. Like I said two years ago, I don't doubt she was over the top. I wasn't there and she didn't tell me about it, of course. I have personally spoken with Beth a couple of times in regard to her review. Unfortunately, Beth first contacted our salon on Saturday 8/14 @ 4:32pm after the close of our last day in Grass Lake before opening in Chelsea that following Tuesday 8/17. Beth again contacted the Salon by phone on Monday 8/16 in the morning. I personally was the one who took the call and explained to Beth that I was currently setting up the computer system and would not know until it was finished if we had that time frame available. I tried contacting Beth several times over the next couple of weeks to confirm her MIL and SIL's appointment time, after about 3 week with little success in reaching Beth, I made the call to remove the unconfirmed appointments from our books. It wasn't until I read this note from Beth that I realized I must have made a mistake when taking down her number. Which explains why I was unable to reach Beth to confirm those appointment times.
On the day of her appointment, our reservationist Ryan had explained to Beth's MIL and SIL our mistake and told them that our Stylist Susan would be able to fit them in 15 mins. The report I got back from my staff which included my husband, my reservationist, and three stylist Holly, Susan, and Stephanie, was that Beth MIL was screaming and cussing at Ryan our reservationist and at the stylist Susan who was doing her hair. Beth's MIL's behavior towards Susan was so terrible, that she left her in shaken and in tears.
To Beth defense I never full explained to Beth what actually happened the day of her appointments nor did I explain to her that she called during off hours our salon has never been open on Mondays.Oct 13, 2010Previous reviewI emailed the salon from the website on 09/13 to secure two appts for out of town family, coming in for my wedding. I wanted to send you a message to pass on my experience with your salon. From my initial email, you replied that a reservationist would be contacting me. After a day or two, I didn't hear from anyone at your salon, so I called in myself. I spoke to a woman, I don't know who it was. I booked two appointments for my mother and sister in law for 10 and 10:30am for the morning of my wedding. (10/02/2010) As they were coming from out of town, I emailed my MOL to let her know of the appointment, before the wedding:

Shyrl (mother in law) said that when they arrived for their appointment, a guy (she thought could be a manager) was flippant with them and said that the appointments weren't confirmed and that Shyrl and Nichole could get "fit in" later. I did not receive a call or voicemail to confirm their appointments, and believe me, with my upcoming wedding, my phone was glued to my ear. I understand if there was a miscommunication and things happen, but the report from my new family is that doing business at Rushelle's wasn't an experience they would like to repeat. The ladies weren't seen for more than an hour after the time I booked for them. Ultimately, their hair was done to their satisfaction and thankfully, my Mother in Law has a thick skin but it made my Sister in law uncomfortable, and their experience was still enough that she told me about it on Sunday, after the wedding.
This is just my feedback. I would have written sooner, but we were on our honeymoon. Good luck with the salon.

Looked nice from the outside, so I decided to give it a try. The stylists are OK. I've had better experiences with hair color and cuts. The inside is modern. There is a nice room where they take you to wash your hair.
The salon uses almost exclusively Paul Mitchell products, and I am not a fan of Paul Mitchell. I've tried several different shades of highlights and all over color and each time the color turns out with somewhat of an orange hue.
I gave them every opportunity to prove that they could get my hair color right, but I'm tired of being disappointed and am going to try a different salon. Maybe it's just the Paul Mitchell products?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Great experience. Took two teens nervous about getting their long hair cut. Bryanna (Bry) was fantastic. Reassured them and did a beautiful cut and style. The girls felt like princesses. Salon is gorgous and elegant. Clean and pleasnt. Easy to find near I-94 on M-52. Will absolutely recommend Salon Rushelle to friends.

The salon was awesome! The staff was very welcoming and informational. Everything was clean, organized, and best of all, relaxing! I have already booked my next appointment.
