I have gone back and forth on whether to thread or wax my eyebrows but I always manage to come back to waxing and Rouge! Claudia and Jenny -- both are super professional, kind and just genuinely great at brows.

At $20, the price is a bit higher than in other boroughs but it's totally worth it. I've always left completely satisfied with my brows and I always go back before special occasions to make sure my brows look their best!

A few friends and I ended up doing a make your own lipstick at this place for a bachelorette weekend. They had the options of making lipsticks, lip balms, or highlighters. A little on the pricey side, about $50 but I guess it's for the experience. I was honestly under the impression that it'd be a DIY and you get to mix colors yourself however there's actually a person that does it for you. You tell them what your color preference is and they mix colors to make that perfect shade for you. It's about a 20 min experience. They save the formula so if you're a fan of the color you made, you can order it online.

Given a gift certificate by some very thoughtful friends, came and redeemed value for a waxing treatment and a custom lip color. Wax service was great - no complaints. However, the lipstick - while the color was nice, quickly became unusable.

All of the pigment powder chunked up after setting everything in the tube and after two wears (maybe a couple weeks had passed), the contents looked like curdled milk, solidified. Really gross to attempt to spread over your lips.

I attempted twice to email the customer service alias and inquire about this and both times went ignored.

Come for the services, not the products.

I would give this place a 3.5 if I could.

My experience at Rouge was good but not great. They took me on time and were super friendly. The person who did my make-up did a pretty good job - not as good as the person from Rouge downtown. When I left Rouge downtown, I looked like I was ready for a photoshoot. After leaving Rouge uptown, I looked a bit more polished but nothing special.

Another issue I had with Rouge uptown was the products used. Downtown they use a wide variety of brands - the best of the best. No brand loyalty. I can't say the same thing for the uptown Rouge. They use a ton of Becca and Lipstick Queen - 2 brands that I don't particularly care for.

We couldn't find a lipstick that looked good on me - typical of Lipstick Queen as they are mostly corals, purples and bubblegum pinks. At Rouge downtown, I bought the lipstick they used on me (made by an indie brand). By the time I got home, the Becca eyeliner they used on me was starting to smudge. Again, I purchased the eyeliner they used on me downtown (L'Oreal).

The woman who did my make-up said that this particular location only used Becca and Lipstick Queen products, but wasn't sure why. Me neither.....

I would probably come back but not before checking the availability at the other make-up studios on the UES. I hear that MAC just opened one......

I visited upon the recommendation from a friend. Esther was my artist and she did a PHENOMENAL job.

I needed to get my makeup done for my friend's wedding as a bridesmaid (her artist was way too expensive, and I was sketchy about trusting a stranger) I was mostly concerned about previous bad experiences with make-up artists that were inexperienced with Asian features. I spoke to the owner specifically about that and she assured me that all of her artists were experienced with different facial features including my particular concern. Maybe I'm off-base, but my experience told me that unless I was recommended an artist that was experienced with ethnic features, I remained wary.

Esther was a perfectionist and before starting anything we talked about what kind of look I wanted. I showed her the bridesmaid dress I'd be wearing, gave her a brief run down of how long i needed it to last, and we were off. She was specific about matching my skin color, took my oily skin into account, and also that I needed the makeup to last at least 12 hours (it lasted 16 and looked amazing all night)

She was meticulous. I also got the individual cluster lashes. She wound up spending a little over an hour on my makeup because she wanted to make sure it was perfect. Best part is that the lipstick she used on me i was able to buy in store for touch-ups later. Great experience. I looked glamourous without feeling like the makeup was caked on. Definitely would recommend.

I felt that the price of the Full Polish + lashes was well worth it.

I called Rouge after reading the reviews here. Samantha answered the phone and we discussed getting my eyebrows waxed and eyelashes done. I'm a bit of a control freak so I usually do all my grooming myself, I also have a fear of pain from waxing so I avoid it at all costs/

When I came in for my appt. Samantha did my waxing and my eyelashes and she did a perfect job. She has a great personality, too, which makes you feel at ease, and she's such a professional! The waxing didn't hurt a bit, I was totally shocked. Obviously, I highly recommend her and love the way everything came out!

I booked Rouge as part of my sister's Bachelorette weekend in NYC and we had a great time! Five of us made custom lipsticks, two girls got lashes, and one girl did a make-up refresh service. Jessey helped me book all of the appointments. She was very helpful in answering all of my e-mailed questions in a timely manner.

We got complimentary champagne when we got to Rouge and it was a very laid-back, relaxing environment. Making the custom lipstick was a lot of fun. I had a specific shade in mind and Esther was super patient with me as I kept requesting little changes to the color as she was mixing it. I love that they keep your custom shade on file so you can always order it in the future once you run out. She also did the make-up service for my friend, which came out gorgeous and lasted through the night.

I got a matte finish lipstick which I put on that afternoon after we left Rouge and it lasted through dinner and late-night karaoke!

This was a really fun, unique idea for the Bachelorette party and I definitely would recommend coming here!

Went here for my cousins bachelorette party. The girls were super nice and let us film a bit of the process. They listen to what you want and definitely deliver the final product to your specifications. It's a fun experience and I would definitely go again. We also set up for the service where my cousin would get her makeup done and it came out amazing. The artist is very talented and my cousin had the best time.

Amazing work by Lulu. The entire place is so clean, professional and beautiful. I now refuse to go anywhere else. Everyone is super professional! Love love LOVE this place!

I had such a pleasant experience getting my eyebrows tinted and shaped by Jenny. She was so nice and gave me advice on my brows!
