It's been a little while since I last reviewed romp n roll and I wanted to give an update. Now that my daughter is older she's been able to able to attend a few more classes. She absolutely loves the art class! They spend time doing age appropriate crafts and keep the kids focused with activities between crafts that are focused on moving around! You get to keep your child's project too which was a huge bonus for me. My daughter is learning so much from all the classes they offer and I am so excited for her to keep exploring all the classes offered. I will update again as she grows and experiences more classes. 10/10 recommend for anyone with a child ages 0-5.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 19, 2016Previous reviewI have been taking my daughter here since she was about 4 months old and we love it. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable. They are always going above and beyond for the kids. The building is much bigger than it looks from the outside and everything is so clean and colorful. There are "classrooms" on one end of the building where the art classes and birthday parties are held and on the opposite side is a huge gym area. The gym area is all padded so kids can be kids without parents worrying about injuries and they sterilize everything regularly. In the front there is a big desk where everyone comes and checks in. (It's nice getting that extra peace of mind knowing everyone in the building is suppose to be there.) There are benches and cubbyholes in front as well so you can put your belongs away and not worry about them while having time with your kids. The bathrooms are all very clean including the changing tables. The bathrooms are private and every one of them have a changing table and smaller kids seat on the toilets. Everything a parent may worry about when going on trips with their kids is covered and the kids have an absolute blast. You get a free trial class your first time as well and I highly recommend giving it a try.

Purchased an open play pass to use on the weekends in the late fall. Now they only offer open play for non members on the weekends so I won't be able to use my passes. No refund or other option offered

Krista, per our messaging, we offered you a class as an exchange for your remaining open playtime passes, purchased and started to use over 90 days ago. We offer open playtime all week and in the evenings. As stated in our conversation, we were happy to exchange this for your child to take a class but you did not want that option. We will also offer non-member open playtime in the summer when you can use your passes as we discussed. Options were offered - We offered that you can use your remaining credit to use towards a class instead.

Great place to bring your kids to play and have fun. My daughter is 2 and half years old and she loves coming to this place to play. They have so many activities for different ages.

Do love this place! I agree it's great during the winter when there are limits to how much time you can spend outside. I find the staff to be very friendly. My son is under one so class options are limited but that's understandable.
I look forward to having a birthday party there one day !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Kelly G.KY, KY2383Dec 13, 2021
I had my daughters 1st birthday party at the weathersfield location on 12/11/21 and I was very disappointed with the lack of pre planning as well as the event day coordination from this facility.
Pre-party communication: I received an email a week or so before my party asking about the number of children to theme etc. upon filling out the form the submit button was prompting me to fill out a mandatory field that was recently removed from the page so it wouldn't let me submit. I called romp n roll and the manager asked me to screenshot my responses and email her which I did. The day before the party I received a call asking the same questions and the individual who called me then said they had not been informed about the submission via email so here I went explaining everything again.
Day of the party: I brought my own decorations and was told I'd have help setting up the room and I could just enjoy the party when I got there - none of that happened. the party room only had half of the chairs set up that were needed even though I confirmed and reconfirmed with the venue on two occasions. I had one person set up 3 of the 5 table clothes needed. I ended up having to ask a guest to actually help me since I was alone setting up everything from paper goods to drinks etc. when it came to the restaurant next door that romp and roll recommends, it is paper thin pizza and it was cold. I decided to talk to the manager of romp n roll once all of my guests had left and her first reaction was to say "well that's not what my staff told me" and defend them for providing little to no assistance. The staff told the manager lies that I had refused their help and that they checked in on us many times during the time we were eating and were told we didn't need anything. none of this is true.
I'm was very disappointed by the miscommunications and lack of communication pre and during the party and taken back by the defensive nature of the manager of this location. I hope that anyone reading this considers the honest feedback from the party we booked and hosted yesterday.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Kelly, I am sorry that you still felt the need to write this review after we spoke personally for some time after your party. You mention in your review that we followed up more than once. Yes, we are very thorough and make sure we are knowledgeable of your party prior to your arrival. The second time we followed up it was a good thing we did because at that time you requested to use our high chair which we had available for your party upon arrival. I explained that there was a glitch due to some changes corporate had to make to the online form and accommodated that as best we could at that time. We most likely did not receive your email because Wethersfield does not have an 'a' in it. When you arrived you asked the staff to show you the party room so that you could start decorating. The party prior to yours had just left so the staff were still cleaning and preparing the party room for your party that was happening in 20 minutes in the gym to start. While in the party room preparing, a staff member asked your child head count again which you confirmed had changed from 29 kids to 22 kids. This was important for them to know before setting up the room for 29 kids, which would have been unnecessary and made the room more crowded. Therefore, they asked this before setting up because commonly some children do not end up coming to parties last minute. The first staff member assisted with the table cloths and then needed to check your guests in. As we discussed, the staff needed to communicate this with you better so that you knew they were coming back and I did remind them to do so in the future. While they were checking in your guests, which included 22 children, you continued to decorate the room by putting out one more tablecloth and putting up a banner. Since the children start in the gym not in the party room, our staff had an hour to prep your party room. They misunderstood your needs because you were decorating without them and once they were done checking the kids in you had finished. They had every intention of decorating and helping after checking in your guests. It is unfortunate that your food was cold, however, we are not in control of independently ordered food. We have always ordered from them when clients order through us and told them the accurate time to have it ready and have never had an issue. As you mentioned, you will provide your feedback to the restaurant. I was so excited to hear directly from you that the children had fun, all activities were completed, and we of course cleaned the whole room after the party for you and your guests. I quickly made myself available to you personally after we had closed and we agreed this was a miscommunication between you and the staff and that I would take your recommendations back to the staff to improve their communication letting parents know they will come back to help decorate but first need to check kids in. The staff did provide information to me that I shared with you not in their defense, but to explain what they thought they understood based on your interactions with them. I heard all of your concerns and appreciated your feedback at that time. As a business owner, I needed to hear both sides of what happened during set up, yours and the staff, and needed to do so to be educated on what happened. This was not meant to be defensive but to make sure I understood the whole situation so that I can respond accurately. We cannot apologize for following up more than once to ensure a smooth party. I again appreciated your verbal feedback at the end of your party. However, it is unfortunate that you feel the need to continue to degrade our facility after we provided a fun and exciting party for 22 children.

Awesome playspace with a major focus on active play. Really friendly staff who communicated well with us for scheduling.

We brought our son here to try a class and it was cute. He had previously tried a MyGym class on the west coast, and this was somewhat similar, though a bit more rushed. The space was padded and safe for my baby to crawl around, and the teacher had cute activities with instruments and songs. The class seemed a bit too large, but perhaps that's because it was a Saturday, and maybe the week day classes are a little more manageable. Overall it was a positive experience and I would be happy to return.

I have recently starting taking my son here. We are not members (membership is pretty expensive unless you plan to attend a ton) but we do occasional drop-in and drop-off events.
My son is 4, and he's really enjoyed the things he has been to here. Open Gym is a nice way to burn off energy on a snowy day. I sent him for parents-morning-out once, and for kids-night-out once. He had a great time for both drop-off events and wanted to stay longer. These programs were basically just babysitting, but the care was certainly adequate and worth the money.
My son is on the babyish side for 4. If you have an athletic boy, maybe the type who keeps up with older siblings, he might be bored by the equipment, as it is fairly small. But my son loves it all and happily climbs on the monkey bars and balance equipment for as long as I'll let him.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jessica S.Rocky Hill, CT1117Jul 11, 2021Updated review
