Polished Perfect by Twila True

My friend and I decided to check Polished Perfect out because of the 75% off offer. We booked our appointments online for Saturday.

The inside of the salon is gorgeous and looks super upscale. The chairs look awesome; however, they are kind of high for an average female. Your feet don't touch the bottom (and the tubs don't have jets!) there also isn't a massage feature, obviously.

The staff was really friendly, but I felt kind of inexperienced? I just had gel taken off my nails a couple days prior so my nails were really short but I feel like the gel just doesn't look that great and has dents. Pedicure was fine and standard. I didn't even look at the color selection because I was seated instantly but my friend said it was average and had a color of every shade.

This was a great deal for 75% off - gel manicure and regular pedicure for $21 - but I don't think I would come back and pay full price for their services. I still love gel nails from nails by holly!

.. Noticed that I was having a bit of a 5 o'clock shadow (ok.. I might be exaggerating a bit) situation going on while I was driving in to work this morning & wanted to get it taken care of.

.. The place was very well designed & clean. Everything was very modern & the chairs were very comfortable. They wax you in one of the pedicure chairs rather than in a back room.
.. All of their tools were in those sanitation pouches, so you can worry less about getting an infection.
.. They use hard wax.
.. Hillary was extremely nice & thorough. She waxed once, then mentioned that there were some stragglers & that she could wax again, but wanted me to check in the mirror first because my skin was getting irritated. After I assured her that it was normal, she went along & waxed a second time to get the rest of the baby hairs. After this, there were apparently still a few baby hairs/peach fuzz left, so she went in with tweezers. I definitely appreciated the attentiveness.

.. I actually came during my lunch break since I work down the street to try to get waxed, but they didn't have any availability until after work hours. Strange considering they weren't busy, but then again, it did only look like 2 people were working & they did already have other guests.

I went here because I heard saw that they had natural gel overlays and was interested in trying them. I had never heard of them, so I reached out to them via yelp. I got a response within 5 min.

I was greeted right away at the door and checked-into my appointment. They offered me a drink and gave me plenty of time to choose a color (thank god, because I like to peruse).

I had my nails done by Hilary and I couldn't have been happier with the results!

Kim is also amazing. I had my last 2 appointments with her and the results are fantastic!

Absolutely love getting my nails done here. Everyone is SO GOOD I never have to worry about which tech I get. I'm SO PICKY about my nails and want them done well (meaning evenly filed, not overly aggressive on my cuticles, polish looks good and not all over my fingers - sad that most places I've been around here don't meet the mark!!).

I have a membership and love that I get a little discount and also it keeps me coming more regularly. Totally worth it in my opinion. Prices are very reasonable for a la charge services too. Only a couple of options for manis or pedis, but that's ok with me, I hate getting constantly upsold at other places.

The only drawback is they aren't usually available for any last minute appointments or walk ins. You pretty much have to book a few days in advance, especially for afternoon appointments. But well worth it in my opinion! Plus the space is so pretty and they take cleanliness very seriously! Honestly the only place I will get my nails done.

Suzie, my manicurist was super nice, and my pedicure looked amazing!! This is my new favorite nail salon. The service was excellent from start to finish. I sent an inquiry through Yelp for a same day appointment, and the response time was awesome. I received a reply within 30 minutes, which allowed me to book
my pedicure appointment within 3 hours.

I usually don't go to a nail salon, I just do it my own, because I don't trust if the tools and the foot bath are cleaned and sanitized well. If I do go to a nail shop once in a great while, I ask for no foot soaking, no trimming cuticles.

Since this place just opened, assuming everything must be new and they have 75% off deal so I decided to try the gel nail for the first time. Plus, with my 4 months old baby, I have no time to do my own mani and pedi and let them dry at home, no way.

I booked mani and pedi online but called them to change the time. So I went in, only had an hour to spend, they rushed and started mani and pedi right after I chose the colors. The foot bath was not the typical plastic container but it was a ceramic bowl which seemed cleaner. (But it looked a little too heavy and more cautious to handle)

Olga and Chinie did my service, they were fast but in detail at the same time. Olga always checked in with me for whatever she was doing, Chinie seemed pretty calm and did a good job. I love my gel nails, they don't require wait time( I love it), so strong and shiny. But not too many color choices, and for super fast growing nails like mine, long lasting nails are kind of useless.

Casher charged me twice because she didn't cancel one of my other appointments when she was rescheduling, and took a long time to fix it. I just had to leave so waited for her email confirmation that she charged me correct. So make sure double check how much you are charged before you pay, there could be errors.

I am gonna try to get another gel nail service before the sale ends if I can book an appointment.

I read some of the poor reviews on here before my appointment, so I was definitely a bit nervous going in. However, I left my appointment really satisfied with the results and service I received.

Now, I have never gotten my nails done before, because why pay someone to do my nails when I can do it on my own? But, with the 75% off special, I decided to #treatyoself. I feel like I found out about the 75% off special a bit late, so when I went to book my appointment online, I couldn't find any available appointments for both Twila True gel manicure & pedicure that fit my schedule. So I went with the True Essential gel manicure & Perfect Deluxe gel manicure instead.

When I arrived for my appointment, the girl that greeted me was very friendly and double checked my appointment with me. She then led me to their selection of colors so I could choose my shade. From there, I gave my colors to another employee who then led me to my seat and went to the back to get the actual colors.

Since I was getting both a manicure and pedicure, I was seated in their large, semi-comfy upholstered chairs. I say semi-comfy because I felt like it was somewhat of a reach for my 5'3" self to reach the foot stool thing. Thank goodness there was a pillow behind me, or else I would've not been able to lean back and put my foot on the stool at the same time. After adjusting myself, I felt a bit more comfortable in the chair.

The 2 girls working on my nails asked if I wanted to get them cut and filed, but I chose to only get them filed and shaped since I had cut them myself the night before. I'm really glad my nails came out straight and not crooked, like some of the other Yelpers on here!

Halfway through my mani pedi, the same girl that greeted me asked if I wanted any coffee, tea, or water. I went for coffee, but I didn't really get to drink it until my manicure was over because, well, I was getting a manicure! I have no problem with not being able to drink my drink though, but that's just a thought.

My appointment lasted a little over an hour since I got my manicure and pedicure at the same time. When I had booked my appointment online, I was quoted ~2.5 hours since I would be getting a manicure, then switched over to a pedicure. It was nice being able to get out a bit earlier. After my pedicure, the girl asked if I wanted to take home the nail files and buffer that she used on me. I said yes, and she put everything in a clear bag with the Polished Perfect logo on it.

The foot bath is simply a ceramic bowl with warm water in it. There are no water jets in this bowl, as they chose it that way to prevent bacteria and stuff. I read that other Yelpers wished there was a jet, but I honestly didn't mind it at all. I saw one of the employees carry the ceramic bowl to the back to dump out the water, and it looked quite heavy.

I love the aesthetic of the salon - very clean, modern, and bright. The service I received was great. However, the big question is would I could back? Only if there was another sick discount like the 75% off. Regular price is just way too expensive -- ya gurl is still swimming in student loans! :(

I've been to many salons. I get my nails done religiously every two weeks and I was not fond of this place. If you're going to charge over $100 for a gel manicure and a pedicure, my shit should be perfect. I left here with bubbly, uneven gel nails. I got hangnails a few days later because they didn't clean the skin around my nails either. Yes, the decor is cute and everything is extremely sanitary, but if my nails don't look good then what's the point. I also didn't like the chairs they sat us in. They weren't really comfortable and no massage chairs.

One star for sanitation and one star for decor/atmosphere.

Polished Perfect leaves much to be desired. I was super excited to try Polished Perfect because I had seen their Costa Mesa location. I jumped at the opportunity of their 75% off grand opening special. Needless to say, it's 75% off for a reason.

I arrived at 10:45am (my appointment time) and was left waiting around for about 15 minutes. The lady at the front asked if I wanted a beverage, I asked for water, and she never brought it to me. Not a big deal, but why bother asking? Now to the services part. My nails were cut RIDICULOUSLY SHORT. In their defense, I did ask for them to be short, however, they look like I'd bitten my nails and just painted over them - or like children's nails. The pedicure was mediocre, the massage was only on my calves which was disappointing, especially since my feet were in desperate need of a massage. My big toe nail is also at an angle...so like I said, Polished Perfect leaves MUCH to be desired. Hopefully they are just going through some growing pains.

I really do like the decor and aesthetics of the place. Love the gold and white. I wouldn't go back and pay full price, but if I was in a pinch, I'd go in. Maybe it was an off day?

I'm so happy I found this place. It's always quite and peaceful there, a very relaxing atmosphere and the stuff is so helpful and friendly. They really take their time to make your nails look perfect! My nails were never healthier and prettier!! Love it :))
