Polish

Called last night to simply check availability for the next few days. Molly, who answered the phone, didn't even let me get the sentence "do you have any openings today or tomorrow" out of my mouth. She interrupted with "I'm sorry we have nothing", so I hung up. Molly called me back and said we got disconnected. She then proceeded to tell me again there was no availability. I stopped her and said that we didn't get disconnected, that I hung up when she told me no without hearing what I was even asking, and that I was no longer interested in an appointment.

Understand busy. Understand lack of availability. Don't understand how a service business tolerates rudeness. Called another nail salon close by and booked an appointment. Luckily for me there are lots of options.

Has to be the cutest nail salon I've visited! I've had two or three appointments there and have had an overall great experence. I would definitely go back, and have already recommended Polish to friends and clients!

Pros:
-The owner is a doll, she is always so chipper and on top of making you feel comfortable.
-They have always been prompt about offering me a drink or snacks within minutes of my arrival.
-Their collection of polishes are good.
-On one occasion my tech stayed 15 minutes after closing to accommodate my needs!

Cons: (Nothing major that I'd consider deducting a star for)
-I had one male nail tech that I wasn't crazy about, he complained about his coworkers a lot, not a deal breaker, but i probably wouldn't want a service with him again.
-Parking. There's only room for about 3 cars, so I'd hate to go when it's busy!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this isn't my regular nail spot, I usually go here if my usual place is booked, but that's purely based upon the fact that I live in south austin, and it's about a 25 min drive from my home. I think that if they stepped up their game a tad, massage or price wise, I'd totally be down to make this my regular nail place! I mean, the massage is supposed to the best part and paying a little extra for an exceptional service is no problem, I just don't feel like their prices reflect that yet! But I have faith in them and in giving them a 5 star review!

I debated all day whether or not to warn people about this place...and, then, I just got in bed and can feel how rough the bottoms of my feet still are and I feel like I need to.

The ambience is great and I was expecting something special. Honestly, it was super short, the massage (which is SO important) was basically nonexistent and little pieces of skin on my feet are catching on my sheets.

With top I spent about $55 on this pedi and I am just really sad about it. Go to embellish to find the experience you are probably looking for here.

Oh- and they charge $10 extra for certain polishes, like CND Vinylux, that every other place I have been to includes in the original pedi price. I just googled it and you can buy the whole bottle at Walmart for $7.

My first time visiting Polish I was SO impressed!! Its a little slice of heaven on earth.

Upon arriving, I was instantly impressed with the the salon's stunning decor and cleanliness. The clean lines, crisp neutrals, and tons of natural light sets such a relaxing, but also happy and invigorating tone for your service. Plus, the bossanova tunes playing throughout the salon added another cheery element to my whole experience, helping me forget the outside world.

After taking all that in (which happened in seconds) Molly was so kind to me as she greeted me and asked me if I'd like some water and chocolate to nibble on during my service. (Such a nice touch!) I was thrilled to find out they carry Smith and Cult products and that you can upgrade your services to include these polishes if you're obsessed like I am! She was so sweet and helped me pick out a color when I couldn't decide between two. You can tell she strives to give each client personal and dedicated attention. Her attention to detail truly makes this salon feel more luxe than any other nail salon I've ever visited.

The services are incredible! I loved the bowls of water that are brought out for your pedicures as opposed to an attached whirlpool bowl that many other salons have. Touches like that and the fact that they gave me my nail file and buffer at the end of the service since they can't be used again just reinforces the salon's commitment to hygiene and cleanliness. My pedicure was really nice, the technician was very meticulous and thorough. She gave an excellent massage too with a lovely scented lotion.

All in all, I was very impressed with the management's attention to detail, the salon's cleanliness, and the relaxing services. I can't wait to go back!! Might chip my own nail polish to have an excuse!

Every time I look at my hands, I am reminded what a huge waste of money this manicure was.

I was excited to try this place, expected more, and will not be back. I live a few blocks away and stopped in today for a shellac manicure after booking an appointment online. Nice atmosphere, Maria the manicurist was great, my nail polish color was horrible. I wouldn't be so disappointed except that the receptionist/front desk girl even 'helped' me select a color. I told her a wanted a neutral tone but something that still stood out. She said my selection was a good one and a 'beautiful color'. Well... the color looks exactly like I'm wearing clear nail polish. And nothing like the example. And definitely not worth the $45 price tag. I was on my lunch break and pressed for time but I would have gladly come back for a color change... had it been offered to me.

They knew I was leaving disappointed and were fine to see me go. Instead I'll go to my old standby spot, Passion Nail Spa, around the corner. They have never left me disappointed, or let me leave disappointed.

But sooo disappointed with my service. Fussy, fussy man did my mani/pedi and he seemed very put out. I will stick with embellish for now!!

I'm currently traveling to Austin quite a bit from Portland trying to plan my wedding (stressful!) and was just recently in town to find a caterer. I decided to call and see if they had an opening for a MUCH needed relaxing mani/pedi after all of that food tasting - SO happy that I did! Natalia was perfect - she listened to what I wanted, chose an awesome color combo for me, and was super friendly and made me feel relaxed (best massage ever!) and right at home. I will definitely be coming back in and asking for her when I'm in town!

I feel like I discovered a jewel - this adorable nail retreat is the perfect balance of healthy indulgence yet stylishly chic without the Hollywood price!

Over a year later and I'm still going to Polish on the regular to update my pedicures each month. I've had several nail techs and they are always great. The atmosphere is serene and the nail polish color choices are divine. I just love this place.

I can't say enough good things about Polish! Molly is very friendly and does an amazing job at making you feel relaxed from the moment you walk in the door. They have a great selection of polishes, including shellac and Smith and Cult. The ladies who do nails are all wonderful, and the nail stations are all so sanitary! I think what makes the place so great are the details-- a water with a cute little straw, a warm neck pillow, a comfy chair, the french music, the air smells oh so good, Molly writes out little cards to let you know your polish colors, the chocolate power berries at the front, .....

I live in the neighborhood and have been desperate to find a good nail place like Polish. The only other nearby nail salon is Passion Nail, where I have gotten not one but TWO nail infections that required seeing a doctor. Also, Passion Nail is so rushed and not really about "the experience". So happy to have a place like Polish in the hood!
