Q:
Do you need to bring your own mat?

Yoon, we apologize, we missed this question. Due to all of the recent events, we are not able to rent mats at time. We do over mat rentals under normal circumstances.

This place is more than just a yoga studio. It is a retreat in itself. Classes are wonderfully tailored to different styles, so many aspects of yoga are honored and practiced and it's very serene. I always enjoy going

Pros- great teachers. Nice vibe
Cons- train horns can be jarring
A wonderful yoga studio in Redwood City. Lots of space and light , give it a great ambiance.
Great teachers and lots of slow and true yin style classes which work great for me . A person who sits way too much and has ultra tight muscles.
Happy to be part of this community.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I really enjoyed the classes I took at Peacebank, especially the Stretch class and ones taught by Emily. Appreciated being in community with others doing yoga after 2 years away during pandemic. Wish they offered student discount or other more affordable options.

as someone who's doing a little research to find out about this studio it's nearly impossible to find out what their prices are what the schedule of classes is, who the instructors are, what their backgrounds and qualifications are.
I don't want to have to sign up give my personal info, and get a password simply to get some information.
they want you to download an app just to look at the schedule.
There should be a big button that says schedule.
I click on it and boom the page opens up, how hard is that?
their business hours were not listed.
All in all they are making it hard to connect.
The idea is to lean into what is natural and organic.
Not have technology be an impediment.
it's just too much damn trouble.
Very frustrating and stressful.
Not what yoga is about.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 8, 2017Updated review
2015:
After completing the Yoga Challenge I am extremely happy to have joined this wonderful studio! The 30 day yoga challenge was life changing. And it definitely got me through some rough times during 2015.
On the first day right after New Years, I wasn't sure what to expect since it was my first experience of outside of the gym. I decided to go all out and attend 4 classes that day. Boy was that a one of a kind experience. I met so many kind yogis there and the teachers were so sweet and encouraging. They were baffled I'd do so many classes a day but then they got used to it and I'd get asked, "So what number class are you on today?" Hahah
Through the Challenge it was great getting to know all the faces on and off the mat through instragram and facebook. & seeing their life experiences.and sharing it in the studio as well. It was always such great vibes there that its strange not to look at #peacebankyoga30daychallenge without smiling.

The studio has changed a lot since then, and I still love it and hold it dear to my heart. Being the first yoga studio I've ever stepped foot into. Many teachers have come and go and the community continues to change every day just like the studio. I love the friday night themed events, that are usually about $10-25 depending on the event. I would drive all the way from San Jose just to go to these. The teachers are so heart felt and genuinely guide you through each asana and work with you on all your concerns as well has help you bring awareness to your body. I highly recommend this studio to anyone in the bay area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1Dec 26, 2014Previous reviewThis review is purely based on my experience walking into the the retail store of the studio, for now.
First off, its pretty cool that they have their own little parking lot behind the facility. It's a great idea so that if you need to get to their studio to practice that you don't have to worry about pulling your hair out worrying about parking. The lot itself is actually what lured me into the place because I was looking for parking and decided to just take a peek into the Peacebank.
As I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Sophia. She was super sweet and showed me all their new products that came in. I really loved the vibe of store, and decided I wanted to look into their Yoga Program as well. I asked about their Teacher Training Program, and she let me know that Emily Galvin would be leading it, and let me know exactly which classes she taught so that I would be able to get a feel for her teaching.
Sophia also let me know about their student introductory rate of $29 for 3 classes, and mentioned there were free meditation classes!
Settling down after the holidays, I finally decided to look at their site, and compare it to another I've also had my eye on. Lucky for me that they have this 30 day challenge! (maybe I shouldn't be promoting this.. because I'm aiming to win...) But hey, maybe there will be some fun competition.
Anyhow, they have a special for a month of unlimited yoga for $99, and the person who wins the challenge gets a free year of unlimited yoga! I called the Studio regarding some technical difficulties signing up, and Sophia was super helpful! She was super patient with me and welcomed my questions. I can't wait to start! - Apr 6, 2019
Great yoga spot to go to in downtown Redwood City. They offer a bunch of different types of yoga classes, so you can find one that best suits your practice, from beginners to advanced. We came here for a corporate workshop and had Jen as our instructor and she was fantastic. She gave personal attention to all of the people attending and her style of teaching was both relaxing and a workout at the same time. A couple of people in attendance had never done yoga before her class and when walking out, we got feedback that they felt extremely zen and had a different perspective of yoga than they did before.
Would highly recommend checking out Peacebank!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

This is a great studio with great people. I've taken Barre yoga with Nina and Prenatal/Postnatal with Veronica... If you're looking for a prenatal yoga class where you will be challenged and be well-prepared for the marathon that is labor, this is it. Veronica is super welcoming and knowledgeable and tough!
Another reason I love this studio -- they were so kind as to let me duck into the studio to breastfeed my newborn, while two classes were in session and my baby was on the verge of a meltdown. I'm a new mom and it was my first time needing to breastfeed in public and I was slightly panicking. Thanks, Peacebank, for being so understanding and mom friendly!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - K B.Redwood City, CA3924Jan 2, 2022
A Beautiful Space and Yoga Community!! I've been coming to peacebank since 2012 and truly can't say enough about how much this studio and doing YOGA has changed my life! Too much to write about here. The website is easy to use, and I wanted to mention that some might think they have to sign into Mindbody to see the schedule, but you don't. Just click on SCHEDULE and keep scrolling down the page. You'll see the weekly schedule is sitting lower on the page. You can even pick a day and see what's offered. Also, to find out more about their beautifully varied, certified and talented teachers, click on the ABOUT tab. You'll find extensive bios and pictures on most of the instructors. PRICING is right there with a click of that tab. Due to the pandemic, many small yoga studios haven't been able to survive, but peacebank is always trying to adjust and align, at a truly impossible time for small business'. We need this studio, and all the gifts yoga brings to our lives ~ NOW more than ever. I hope you will try out peacebank's classes and different teachers to find your own just right yoga practice! I take virtual classes, archived class videos, and go to park yoga, when I'm not ready to be in the studio. Thank you peacebank for helping keep me sane!!

I moved to Redwood City a couple of months ago and am so happy to have found this studio! I tried the intro 3 class package before committing to the unlimited monthly plan. Everybody is very welcoming and the place has a great atmosphere. Others have mentioned the train; you mostly only hear it in the sun studio, but it doesn't bother me too much. The studios have always been clean when I've taken class, too.
All of the instructors I've taken a class with are really helpful and friendly. I especially like barre with Nina and any of the classes Faysal teaches. They both bring great energy and connect with you as an individual. If you're looking for yoga in Redwood City, this is a great place to check out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information
