• I have been a client of Billy Ray for over 10 years. He is amazing! He knows how to get the perfect high end blond color or do something funky!!!!! He is always gracious enough to correct other people's mistakes as I travel a lot. The salon has a very chilled out atmosphere, everyone knows my name and it is relaxing and low key. It feels like family. While Billy does your hair you can also discuss a whole range of topics with him including philosophy, psychology and history or just relaxing. It's a truly amazing experience, high end color and technique at prices that will not leave you broke.

• Panyc is a hidden gem in the world of nyc salons. On the fifth floor of nondescript building off union square, it's a light filled oasis. There's no pretension and no attitude. The owners, who all work there, are friends and they create an easy going fun environment. I have nick named Paul, one of the owners, the curl whisperer. If you have curls, Paul will change your life.
