I love this place!
I have my own spa so I'm very picky where I go.
Decided to treat myself here last year.
I had a facial and body wrap.
I love everyone there so nice!
Customer service is a must!
So clean and peaceful.
Facials I'm not too crazy about which I won't come back for but everything else I'll do and try something else well mostly body treatments.
Can't wait to treat myself again.
Prices are not too bad.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 2, 2017
Such a hidden gem in this busy town!
If you want to disappear for few hours, and just don't want anybody to find you, turnoff your phone and hide in this spa!
Enjoy this de-stressing and calming spa setting with courses of detoxing massage, steam room, and sauna. All staffs are trained with high quality customer service, from greeting staffs to aromatherapists, which makes a truly great experience.
La Stone Therapy and Healing Flower Remedy are highly recommended sessions from me! They are really great body treatments once in a while.
There are other treatments that help purifying body and mind, and doing facial pampering, and body firming.
Price range for each session is high.
To optimize your session I would recommend to arrive 30-40 minuets early - to prep yourself with hot shower, cleansing your body and mind, quiet down your senses with the complimentary herbal tea and hot towel - and to rest in the brightly sunroom at the back...enjoy few bites of fruits and crackers(also complimentary by the SPA) although I don't recommend drinking more tea right before the session, as you may need to pee during the middle of session and it's inconvenient.
After the session, you need to drink water or tea, it will help your body to cleanse after the massage. And for some special sessions, sit in sauna afterwards can help you further absorbing essential oil and detoxing...
After all the above relaxation, (if you are not in a rush) just walk to the sunroom and have a nap...
After the nap, you could order simple dishes they provide, the price of food and coffee is affordable. But do mind the schedule of their kitchen time.
If you care for light fitness class, they have weekly schedule, just ask the front desk for a copy.
If I go, I spend majority of that day there.
When I put DETOX on my calendar, usually nothing else will be planned that day :)Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Justin H.New York, NY13293Feb 24, 2019
I had a poor experience with this place. I purchased a $300 gift certificate, but the recipient of my gift was given a very hard time when attempting to schedule an appointment. Upon attempting to book a 30 minute session, she was told that they have a minimum booking time policy of one hour. Their website says nothing about this policy, and in fact their list of services includes several 30 minute options.
I called up myself and was told the same thing. I pointed out that this policy seems made-up and is not stated on their website. The phone call felt like a negotiation - several times I was put on hold while they "see what they could do". First they offered a 45 minute appointment, then finally agreed to allow a "special" 30 minute appointment. However I was continuously being probed as to why we did not want to book a full hour. I was told that they would prefer if we used the full value of the gift certificate at once. This was especially off-putting, because obviously it is the customer's prerogative to use the value of the gift certificate at their own discretion. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of us since they already had my money from the purchase of the gift certificate.
By this time, my recipient and I were so upset by the whole experience that we no longer wanted to go. I threatened to dispute the credit card charge, and they finally offered to refund the gift certificate.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 48146246Jul 14, 2018
Terrible experience. I booked a couples massage for me and my best friend at 12 PM. We were taken in at 12:20. After that, we had a so so deep tissue massage and were taken to the sunroom to relax. We thought we were waiting for the facial room to be prepared, but actually they forgot about us. We went to the front to ask about the facials, and they told us due to a scheduling error we wouldn't be getting our facials today, and that we could come back. We refused since it's out of our way and at that point we were annoyed and just wanted to leave. They told us that for the inconvenience they would give us a discount of 40% on the price of the deep tissue massage.
I think what got us most upset was finding out that the facial that they were planning to do wasn't a facial at all... it was literally a 10 minute face mask. We asked about the marine facial, which online states it consists of extraction, and they said no, it's just a face mask.
Just an upsetting experience overall. We will definitely NOT coming back.Helpful 20Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Matt L.Saint Louis, MO100852689Aug 23, 2018
My experience with this business is limited to attempting to inquire (via their website, twice) as to whether this place was only for women. Didn't receive an answer, so really one star is the best I can do.

Just for the record, I have never physically been inside (I think men aren't allowed in here; I might be wrong), but I did book a Mother's Day present for my wife (because my one year old has no funds; nor did she know what Mother's Day was).
Teresa Chan, one of the owners, made booking this so easy. All I had to do was pick a time, service, provide a phone number with name, a credit card, and my wife was all set. I was so worried that it would rain intensely when my wife and her friend left the Spa, but Teresa ensured that they both got an umbrella just in case. Thank you, Teresa!
From the reports I got from my wife and her friend, the spa is lovely and the services were too. The only issue was that there needed to be a stronger hair dryer, but that's de minimis; I'll just have my wife bring her own next time. The prices are apparently not low for spas in Flushing (I wouldn't know), but I am confident that the sticker shock allows for this spa to maintain its reputation by keeping certain portions of the population out. Yes, keeping certain people out might be just as important as bringing people in, if you catch my drift.
Thank you, Orient Retreat Spa, for my wife's enjoyable Mother's Day present. She'll likely see you next year =).Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Daniela T.Brooklyn, NY3216551May 15, 2019
It's ok.! In a place where there are a million of other places. The spa strives to compete within the confines of their limitations.
Not compared to their sister location in baysideHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sabrina T.New York, NY29720132May 22, 2018
I take my mother here every year for Mother's Day and this is the one place she brags about to her girlfriends. Although I haven't experienced this place first hand she adores this place. The hospitality is amazing even for people not being serviced!
I appreciate how great they make her feel after Mother's Day! We'll be back next yearHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Annie C.Brooklyn, NY359131551Dec 24, 2015
I booked a couples massage a month in advance at Orient Retreat Spa to celebrate an anniversary. We were looking forward to this as we needed to unwind and rejuvenate ourselves mentally and physically from a very hectic month. Upon our arrival, the staff showed us to our lockers and provided us a quick tour of the facility. In your locker, you'll find a robe, towel, and slippers at no additional charge. There are 3 shower rooms, 2 changing rooms, 1 dry & wet sauna room, and a sun room. We were quite disappointed to find out that these amenities were ONLY provided for women and not men. I wish they would've stated this over the phone among booking, or at least have it mentioned on their website.
Our spa treatment started off with a hot towel and tea provided by the staff. However, I never got a chance to enjoy this. After changing, I was immediately ushered into our treatment room. I was disappointed once again. I specifically requested over the phone for a couple's room where we laid besides each other. There was clearly a retractable wall between my boyfriend and I... which was only opened enough for me to see the cabinet along the wall of the other room. My masseuse didnt bother introducing herself nor did she confirm the particular areas of discomfort I had. She just had me select the oil scent I preferred, told me to lay down, and started massaging me even prior to my partner arriving in the other room. When I asked about his wearabouts, she just said "he's coming". He eventually arrived about 5 minutes into my treatment.
As for our massage, we were both not satisfied. We had to ask our masseuse multiple times to go easier since they were hurting us. They left us in more pain and distress than we originally had. My boyfriend's masseuse basically demolished his left shoulder. Overnight, his shoulder had swelled up. Also, throughout our session some lady in the locker room was on a phone call and this had created a very unpleasant experience for me. Another thing I didn't enjoy was that they let you walk out the room dripping in the massage oils. I would've appreciate it if they wiped it down with a warm towel like most spas do.
Overall, this wasn't the perfect spa experience as we had hoped. The massage was very fast paced and was anything but tranquil. Orient Retreat Spa seems to be geared more towards females so I would not suggest this spa for couples.Helpful 36Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Arline B.Brooklyn, NY216479939Feb 10, 2018
I had an awesome time at the Orient Spa. I booked a couples massage for my spouse's birthday. The spa is a clean and tranquil space. The massage was great and afterword I enjoyed the sauna and lounge room. The lounge room faces the sunset and there is tea, water and fruit available.
Minus one star because my hubby said he wish there was lounge and sauna available for men too, not just a locker room and bath.
I'd love to come back with my mom or sisters.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
