I LOVE this place!! I've taken GYROTONIC and GYROKENESIS classes from a number of teachers, and the teachers here do a great job of making exercise accessible and imbuing classes with creativity. A welcoming space with lots of natural light.

OMG! I am so happy I found this place! I had two weeks of private instruction with Jen and Sabrie. They were both so attentive and knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology and really helped support my strengthening work. They are both so detail oriented that I could actually feel which muscles were activating during our session's! The building was also really nice. All the equipment you need for a good session! I like the fact that they have single use cloth hand towels in the rest rooms! Finally! I almost cried when I saw this! Seriously

MOVE has kept me connected to health and wellness when it would have
easy to spend winter days sitting. It has been so important to be able to connect with the trainers through virtual classes and have them welcome me by name. This type of exercise was new to me and I am thankful for the demonstrations and opportunity to ask questions. MOVE is a thoughtful community of people who want the best in health and fitness for anyone who wants to participate.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Margo A. W.Chagrin Falls, OH713Dec 7, 2019
This place is great! I love the instructors! I didn't know anything about Pilates when I had my first session here, and had been out of shape for many years. I once loved to dance but I have gained so much weight in the past 40 years that the thought of leaping around a dance floor at my age was terrifying. I was totally not motivated to work out at a gym. The personal trainers at MOVE really know what they are doing. Not only am I learning to move again, but they have helped me find my "core" ( which seemed to have gone missing) and I have become much stronger. I have been introduced to the beautiful Gyrotonic method and the Franklin method which are wonderful ways to get strong. I have learned so much and actually enjoy going there, something I couldn't say about my former athletic club. No need to worry about whether you look good in your leggings here, all ages and sizes are welcomed and your workouts are designed with you in mind, no matter how fit you are. Move Wellness also has a great juice bar, yoga, massage and more!

Absolute best studio in Ann Arbor! I have been looking for months for a long term place to strengthen my body, as I have long term physical limitations. I have bounced around from place to place and from instructor to instructor without finding a good fit. Some have been very honest with me and have told me that they were not knowledgeable enough about my limitations to help, which I respect. But MOVE went out of their way to help me; to learn about my body and to help me build up the muscles my body so desperately needs. I can't even explain how intelligent they are about anatomy and how every movement affects each muscle.
It's a beautiful studio that smells lovely and feels very open yet cozy. They have a juice bar and a small boutique filled with fantastic items that I always end up buying after sampling. I love the location, the atmosphere and the kindness. The people are so warm and caring and are SO knowledgable. It's really just changed my life in such a positive physical and emotional way. I hope to attend private sessions forever!
Update: I should have mentioned - I see Leila as my private instructor. Ask for HER because I love her! :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Charlene M.Ann Arbor, MI021Jun 6, 2017
so, I've only ever done Prenatal and Postnatal classes with Davy here, and can't speak to any other kind of class, but if you are going to have a baby or recently had one, I can't recommend Move enough! I started doing prenatal Pilates at about 29 weeks when I had a lot of back pain. It was A great, safe way to stay active and build strength. Davy is really knowledgeable and a good teacher. Even though my labor and delivery were rough (36 hrs+ a c-section!) my recovery has been pretty smooth and easy - and I give at least some credit to Davy's prenatal class for that! I just checked out get postnatal class and loved it too!

This gym offers really awesome classes that you wouldn't normally find in many other places. The instructors are all lovely, knowledgeable and very helpful. This gym is definitely on the pricey side, but if you can afford it, I would totally recommend it, in particular for the Reformer Pilates.

This studio is a hidden gem. I found MOVE through Groupon and was blown away by the facility, teachers, and class offerings. I can't believe the studio isn't busier. I'm a dancer and was dealing with an injury while taking at MOVE. Most exercise was out for me, but I improved with such leaps and bounds while taking almost daily class here even my PT was extremely impressed.
Classes are small, so you will receive personal attention. The teachers are extremely knowledgable and will help you modify classes as needed. And be prepared to get a GREAT workout.
Food and drink offerings are great as well! Fresh juice prepared while you take class for only $6.
I have since moved (got a job dancing I probably wouldn't have if it weren't for MOVE), but would have absolutely continued the monthly unlimited if I were in the area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ruth-Anne S.Palo Alto, CA1288Aug 30, 2014
I love Move! Although I live in CA, I was visiting Ann Arbor to drop my son off at college. I searched Yelp for a Pilates studio and found Move. From talking with Elaine on the phone to meeting her this morning and taking a class with another teacher, all my interactions with the studio were great. Move has friendly, informed and knowledgable staff plus a lovely studio filled with natural light. All the equipment is in excellent condition and is clean. I wish Move was in Palo Alto.

The owner has done a great job creating a beautiful wellness center. I came in for a trial visit after winning a visit in a silent auction. It smelled like essential oils in there-which was very relaxing and I got a very nice gift bag after my visit. My Pilates workout instructor was great too. Although my visit was a while ago, I could tell that everyone there really cared about your well being. I just wish the package prices had a little bit more variety! It wasn't affordable for me at the time.
