Your therapist will briefly discuss what a yoga therapy massage session might include and how it is customized to your body's needs.

This session might include guided breathing, a hands-on spot assessment of trouble areas, muscle testing and initial massage work (to include effleurage, stretching, range-of-motion, active release techniques, and pelvic blocking).

The functional yoga therapy client homework will be based on this information and is usually a series of exercises or poses to increase mobility in restricted tissues and to strengthen weak muscles.The rest of the session will fall into a standard freestyle massage with focus on whole body integration and relaxation.
