• I had a massage on Monday and as always, Mirriam exceeded expectations. However, yesterday, I came in for acupuncture with Raj and there are a few things that I’d like to mention. I’ve been coming to this clinic for years now but it is the first time that I noticed the floor was dirty. I took a picture of it after my treatment so let me know if you’re interested to see. Second, I don’t appreciate the microaggression displayed by Raj yesterday. It is completely unnecessary to ask a patient of her ethnic background especially when it has nothing to do with the treatment. I ignored the question the first time it was asked but she went on to say “are you Chinese, Filipino, etc.” Why does she have to know? And if it has any bearing to my health, why is that question not included in the questionnaire/intake form? I Uncomfortably answered the question nonetheless and asked the question back to her to see how she’d react. Your company should take steps to educate your employees of cultural diversity, inclusivity and respect and to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times. She was very nosy and even asked about my work and employer, which again to me are unnecessary. Again, if those information are significant, they should be captured in the in-take form.
