M Hair Studio

I found this place with pure chance, but I love it so much. Literally cannot give enough kudos to this salon -- and Rachel in particular!

Please take a gander at my before photos, bleeding red, orange, warm.... Which is the exact opposite of what I had asked for with my previous salon. It is unfortunate as I'd been seeming my last gal for about 1.5 years, but this color is unforgivable. Especially as this was my third time giving grace on things.

After my last appointment, I couldn't even look in the mirror. I immediately got home and started searching for a new hair home. Found M Hair and then stalked (sorry) the stylists. I really was in love with Rachel's work. Plus.... Best name ever, but I'm biased :)

She is amazing, truly!! Look at this before and after. She took the orange warm roots and transformed my head into a natural looking, dimensional work of art. Dark roots that look like they actually came out of my head, blended beautifully. She was beyond understanding, kind and graceful in my time of need.

I have gotten countless compliments since my appointment and I owe it all to her. Plus, she gave me quite possibly the best blowout of my life. It lasted 3 days.

The entire staff was fun and energetic to be around, they use the best quality products around, and I could not be more thankful to find this gem of a studio.

When I moved to Nashville it was difficult to find a salon where the employees didn't look like Bret Michaels or a member of Mötley Crüe. Which is fine, if that's your thing - but it's not mine. The ladies at M. Hair Studio are comfortable and naturally just themselves. The studio itself is bright and airy, chic and simplistic. If you book online you can create an account which gives you the ability to look at their calendars and pick what day and time works best for you.

They're genuine, down to earth, and welcoming people. Sam is my stylist and I am always super happy with my experience when I leave. She's easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and someone you can be comfortable around. I trust her to help me make decisions on my cuts, color, and product selections. Katie is usually there when I go in and she's great as well. Conversations with them are always something to look forward to.

Rachel has consistently given me great haircut. I've never had to wait to be seen; she is always on time. In addition to being super comfortable and kind, her scissor skills are unparalleled. She is also a really skilled colorist.

Can I recommend Kate @ M. Hair Salon? She is the best color stylist I have found in my life as she is great with blondes and I love her organic color she uses. She is extremely knowledgeable about what she does and the "why" behind it. She uses NO chemicals on my head at all as I am sensitive to toxic hair products.

And she makes me feel as though I look like I am 21 again...even though I'm retired! Lol.

My experience at M Hair studio was fantastic. They are experienced in their services, professional, and customer focused. I chose this salon because it was local and had been recommended to me by several friends (who also have fantastic hair!).

I had been commuting back to Indy for 4 years (who can leave a stylist), but my Indy stylist left for California. I was nervous going to a new salon and Mandi eased by nerves by listening to my needs and preferences. She followed up with me twice after my visit to make sure I was satisfied.


Now after several visits, I have full trust in my new stylist to make my hair beautiful with her own techniques.

The salon is clean and they prioritize the health and safety of their customers. I also love that they sell Kevin Murphy products. These products have helped my understand how quality products can change your hair.

I had my hair done last week by Kate. She did an amazing job with my color correction!! I got balayage, baby lights, and a bright money piece. I really like how she worked the highlights into my current grey pattern so my color lasts as long as possible. Definitely going back!

Not exactly your friendly neighborhood salon...

I was charged $185 for no service whatsoever. I made a last-minute appointment for highlights, and when I showed up at the salon, I was told that they would not be able to accommodate me because I can't safely wear a face mask (they are still enforcing a mask policy). I told them I was disappointed but understood, and I left - only to receive a charge for $185 on my bank statement, since they had classified me as a "no-show" who hadn't canceled more than 24 hours before the appointment. I was shocked and called the salon to discuss. When I spoke with the owner, she refused to remove the charge.

Needless to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future!

Just got a great cut and color from Kate! She is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about color techniques and chemistry. I usually float around to whoever happens to have the soonest availability when I get the impulse to cut my hair, but now I have a regular stylist. Highly recommend!

I went here for the first time the other day and had a fantastic experience! My stylist, Sam, was kind, professional, and a lovely conversationalist and did a great job on my hair.

They also are being extremely serious about COVID-19, which I appreciate -- I was asked to fill out a questionnaire ahead of time asserting that I was not at risk of having the virus, I was required to wear a mask, my temperature was taken when I entered the store, and I was made to wash my hands when I entered. Sam was also wearing a mask and sanitized her station before I arrived and after I left, and there were only four people total in the salon: myself, Sam, and one other client and her stylist, both of whom also wore masks and were stationed at the opposite end of the salon.

My wife went the next day and had a wonderful and safe experience as well. Making this my go-to hair place moving forward!

Great salon! I was able to book online very easily with short notice. I bleach my own hair and get nervous about going to salons and having the stylist pressure me to have them bleach my hair, but my stylist was very supportive and understanding of me doing that myself :) I also wasn't pressured into buying any products which was a relief. They have a shelf of them, and I am kind of tempted to buy something next time because my hair feels so nice! My stylist and overall experience was great and I will definitely go back :)
