I love Radiant waxing. I've been a customer for over a year and plan to be a lifer. They're clean, cozy and friendly.
I'm a transplant from European Wax Center where the aestheticians are hurried, the turn over is high (new one every couple of months) and they harass you to buy a package every time you get a wax. High pressure sales and a new person to mess up your face on your prized brows? No thanks.
May my brows always be radiant and may radiant waxing never change. They're doing it right.

What happened to all of the great estheticians? Lunchbox used to be the best Brazilian wax in Phoenix! In fact, Lunchbox was so consistently satisfactory that I started coming in Scottsdale due to my amazing experiences for years in Henderson, Nevada. The experience I had yesterday (6/18/20) was absolutely terrible.

First, the wax was INSANELY painful. I've been waxing for more than 10 years and never experienced such an uncomfortable experience. The esthetician kept saying my hair was being "difficult," but it felt as though the wax was not hot enough and wasn't removing my hair. Instead, it felt like my skin was being ripped off. My skin is still incredibly sensitive today and I also noticed a TON of hair I needed to tweeze. After paying $60 to be tortured, this is ridiculous. Oh, and the wax took well over 30 minutes, which is about 15 minutes longer than usual.

Next, I am still super sticky and covered in wax in areas it is quite difficult to remove. Keep in mind, wax doesn't come off easily with soap and water, and requires an oil-based solvent to remove it. This is quite annoying.

Lastly, I was charged 4 times on two different credit cards for the service. I repeatedly asked to remove any cards on file and to pay each time I come in because I am not comfortable having my credit card information stored. Apparently that is not an option because they will charge you if you don't show up to an appointment. I get that, but I've never no-showed and I've been going to Lunchbox salons for years. After seeing the multiple charges after I left, I'm even more annoyed.

Although Lunchbox was great in the past, the new estheticians are subpar and the company policies are lame. Add to that the skyrocketing price of $60 per torture session, and you can likely find a much better salon.

I've lived in Europe for 2 years, I've asked countless times to be removed from the model email list which is sent out by Heather the same manager mentioned before and ive just gotten yet another email. I do not wish to model for such an unprofessional company.

Literly got my brows BOTCHED here. I'm not even going to post a pic bc I cry everytime I look at them. I have my brows microblade and told the girl just to follow the outline I don't understand how she messed up. One of my brows is completely off there's actually like 4 hairs left on it compared to the other brow. Idk if she accidentally messed up and just didn't say anything but im really confused. don't go here!!

I am flabbergasted by the customer experience I just had here. First off, I would like to acknowledge that I was running a few minutes behind and could have called, and did not. To be honest, the services I booked take so little time (I've done both before and they take less than five minutes apiece) and the total booked time was 30 minutes, I didn't think much of it. My mistake, absolutely.

When I pulled into the parking lot, every space was full, except the handicapped spot right in front of the salon, which I pulled into to turn around and keep looking for a spot. People even parked on the curb. I wasn't going to valet my car for a ten minute appointment, and the gate to the apartment complex next door was open, so I parked there and walked over. As I was walking up, I noticed a car pulling out of the spot right next to the handicapped spot. Naturally, right?

I walked in and apologized for being behind, and said the lot was totally full and had to park next door. The girl at the desk said she would check me in and I sat down to wait. That was when Lucy came up, and called me back into the room. We walked in and she shut the door.

"I was just about to call you and no-show you." She was clearly very irritated. It's understandable. I was late.

I told her I was sorry for being late, and explained the parking situation.

"The space in front was open for like twenty minutes," she says, shaking her head.

"No, I watched that car pull out when I walked up. The handicapped space was open, I even used it to turn around to keep looking for a space and had to park at the apartments next door."

"No, the one NEXT to the handicapped space was open."

I couldn't believe she was arguing with me about parking. IT WASN'T OPEN. If the space was open, I would have parked there! I'm not freaking blind. Or a liar.

"Well we only have time to do one of your services today. Which one do you want to do?" she says to me.

My appointment times were 1:15 and 1:30. It was 1:25. Lip and nostril were my services. She could have done both of those within 20 minutes easily, it wasn't like I was getting a Brazilian and my legs done. I asked her why she couldn't do both; they take only a couple minutes each.

"I have an appointment right after you, I can't be late for that appointment. So yeah. Which one would you like to do?"

To be honest, the way she was treating me for the apparent cardinal sin of being late and her arguing over the parking situation, I was starting to feel like I didn't want this woman anywhere near my face with hot wax and popsicle sticks.

I told her, "You know what, I'm going to skip today."

"Great!" she says. "Would you like to pre-book your appointment?"

I told her no and walked out. Not once did I cop an attitude with her. I apologized for being late. I was shocked at how I was treated, and didn't even get my services done.

I will NEVER set foot in there again.

I have been here several times before and always had a great experience. Always. That's why there are two stars and not one. This person argued with me about what happened, and then proceeds to tell me that she can't take the extra two minutes to do the second service even though there were twenty minutes left in my reserved appointment time. This is the total opposite of every other time I've been there.

It was 100% my bad for being late. 100%. I was apologetic and explained what happened, then was basically accused of LYING about what happened.

If they charge me a cancellation fee for this, that would be completely messed up, but worth it to never have to go back again. Their time is valuable, yes, and I chose to leave because it was a horrible customer experience, which wasted a solid hour out of my day for nothing with driving there and back. Your customer's time is valuable, too. My time is EXTREMELY valuable - and this experience was so bad I chose to spend some of it writing this review. When you treat customers with such disrespect and disdain, it wastes everyone's time. And now you lost current and future business because of this.

There's a story out there called, "Give 'em the pickle," all about taking good care of your customers. Google it. It's essential reading for your employees. That was an absolutely shameful experience.

I'm not a novice waxer, this place is just bad. They use soft wax with strips all over, which is a very outdated way to do a bikini wax. Most places use entirely hard wax or mostly hard wax with soft wax/strips in certain areas. The strips take forever to do and are so painful because the soft wax clings to your skin. My body was literally shaking in pain.

Even though my first experience was terrible, I decided to come back once more. Mostly because when you buy your first wax, you get your second free. I was also hopeful that after just a few weeks with little hair growth, it would be less painful. Nope, still really bad. Also the second time I came in, the woman who did my wax was clearly very ill. No one wants someone waxing them that's coughing and sneezing all over.

This review is regarding encounters with Alexus from Lunchbox Wax

Within 5 seconds of being on the phone this individual raised their voice in order to dominate the conversation and was extremely rude and dismissive over a simple inquiry. I was basically talked over and out of the phone and turned down for service.

I have a screenshot I can provide of a total of 1 minute spent on the phone being dismissed.

This individual provided service once before (2 weeks ago - lips and chin) and immediately upon entering the room questioned my motive for wanting to wax these areas and repeated this questioning to a point of making me feel ashamed and uncomfortable for wanting the service done. Then continued to emphasize that it would hurt and that I would never want to be waxed in these areas again, and low and behold they turned me down today for service.

For a wax salon to be located on Lincoln & Scottsdale, it should not be hiring such low caliber individuals that exhibit such sexist and homophobic behavior. I work in the luxury service industry and I would not expect this kind of service ANYWHERE in town but especially not in this city.
The other recent negative reviews from former clients are clearly an accurate reflection of the degradation of management of this place. The quality of this brand has gone down tremendously since it's inception and I feel embarrassed for the founder, Debi Lane.
Unfortunately, I would never recommend this company to a friend and will in fact be letting people know to stay far away. The ACLU will be notified of this encounter immediately.

Megan is the BEST! I've seen most of the girls here at this location for a brazilian, but Megan is my go-to and she is amazing. Speedy, yet detailed and so friendly! Parking can be hard on the weekends, so I just plan my waxes accordingly.
