Numerous people may agree with me when I say, "There's nothing wrong with being high maintenance! It just means a person puts more effort into caring for themselves." Which is why my girl, Rachel, at the LunchBox Waxing Salon is amazing at maintaining the unwanted hairs on my body.
Today's visit was a bit awkward. They are normally great at sticking to the scheduled appointment times but, today they was 15 minutes behind. I was hoping to be done by 7:30PM due to a scheduled event immediately afterwards.
Despite the setback, Rachel had me in and out of the salon by 7:20PM without skipping a beat in the waxing session. On top of that, I've been granted one free waxing service during my next visit.
I've visited this salon twice before in which I've found out about them via my bookings with Jacksonville Magazine.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sharde N.Grapevine, TX203115317Nov 2, 2019

This is going to be a quick one! I have a friend who has gone here, so when I was in the neighborhood recently with a little time on my hands, I decided I'd check it out. I called to see if they had an appointment open and they told me to come on in. Within 5 minutes, I was in a clean, private room. It was very quick and professional. The woman who I saw was named "Jordan" and she was friendly and polite. It was a pleasant experience and I am glad I went!
It worked out very well that they accept walk ins (I would still call before you go, because I am sure they can get busy). The decor was minimalist, but I liked that because it really emphasized the cleanliness of the space and private rooms.
If you're in the area, you should definitely check it out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Elizabeth H.Fort Lauderdale, FL861979Jul 17, 2019
I have used LunchboxWax several times now (underarm, bikini, Brazilian). I haven't scheduled with any particular person. I usually just schedule by the time I want. I've had appointments in the morning, early afternoon, and evening. The appointments that weren't evening, I've had a hard time finding parking. I've learned the hard way that I have to leave my house an extra 15 minutes early.
I've never had one problem with any employees' service. I don't remember two lady's names but I do remember Ashley and KeKe. Everyone has been diligent in making sure I am hair free. Also, the business is super clean. I don't ever feel uncomfortable in any aspect.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jessie S.Jacksonville, FL1968Dec 19, 2018
I went here for the first time and first wax ever in my life. They were very nice and helpful. I did have to wait longer than when my appointment was scheduled but i wasn't in a hurry so it didn't bother me.
I had a ton of questions about post care of the waxed area and my waxologist was so helpful. She recommended things they had in the store but also gave me personal examples that she found helpful for herself.
Will be going back for sure!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eliana D.Clearfield, UT9531Aug 23, 2018
it was my first time and I walked in without an appointment and got in very quick. I was please with how fast and professional the lady was. She was very sweet and was easy to talk to. I had my eyebrows waxed and it hurt a little more than IT usually does for me. I then realized it continued to burn and it was hot to touch. I should have told her before i left the salon, but i just figured it would go away in a little and that the sensation was normal. hours went by and i realized she ended up ripping some skin off of my lower brows. I now have irritated skin that is healing from the wax. It is very noticeable, embarrassing and more importantly hurts like a b*tch it touch. I probably won't go back to this salon, and never back to the girl! so much for being a waxologist...

I would give a zero if I could.
1. My appt. wasn't with who it was supposed to be and no call.
2. SOLO girl at front desk and the only "waxologist" there was rude and unprofessional.
3. Made me wait 20 minutes, waxed someone else and looked at me twice and said nothing.
4. Walked out, found another place - MUCH BETTER - and they even said they get a lot of people who say LBW staff are rude.
5. Called to talk to a manager the Monday after and it was like trying to get a hold of a CEO.
No thanks. Never again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mariah C.Indianapolis, IN765Mar 13, 2019
I came here one day on a whim and the first day I couldn't get my service done. The technician said my hair wasn't long enough and explained why that could be an issue. I appreciated her being upfront and quickly rescheduled. She could tell it was my first time and explained the process and made me feel really comfortable.
When I went back it hurt but the technician helped to keep me distracted and made me comfortable during the entire process. I couldn't have asked for a better technician to give me my first Brazilian wax. Definitely will be returning in the future for all my waxing needs.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Dani S.Jacksonville, FL17635141Mar 16, 2019
This was my first time here and I was so confused and turned off about my walk-in experience today. (I did not want to even give this a star.) The woman at the front desk didn't greet me. Stared blankly at me with this almost, what are u doing here look?, instead of, hi! How can I help you?, attitude. I told her I wanted to get a few services and if I required an appointment she said no, but are completely booked for the day. The waiting area looked like a ghost town. I didn't question her and went on my way. I wish I had. I have never been turned away like that. I was at least offered to wait at other salons. I understand it's a day before st. Patty's but really??? I don't know if I'll be returning. Staff should know how to properly greet their potential customers.

My first review (5 stars) was for the way they treated my daughter, the convenience of their location (to me) and the store design. That hasn't changed.
Why three stars now? I have to say it's because I prefer hard wax. It doesn't hurt so much in sensitive places. I liked my waxologist. Jessica was personable and informative and, more importantly, thorough.. Everything was smooth when I left; however my skin felt a bit raw a couple hours later. I'd forgotten that's how I react to soft wax. LunchBOX is still very pleasant and professional, very sanitary but I think I'll be returning to the other place even though it's a bit of a drive.
If you're not waxing sensitive bits, lunchBOX is great. Pricey but pleasant.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Mar 27, 2015Previous reviewSuper clean and minimal. Very pretty and well designed franchise. Friendly staff who were thorough and gentle. Prices reflective of their target clientele which is "affluent and progressive" (direct quote from the clever little book in the waiting area). Five stars because I couldn't really find anything to critique. My daughter was very excited that the restroom soap "smells like BUBBLEGUM!!!!"
