This is a nice business to visit. Lisa was the only business we called who actually returned our phonecall when we decided to get a last minute massage before we had to go to the airport. She came in on a Sunday just for us! She was friendly and genuinely wanted us to have a good experience. The area was clean and unlike another review on here, I was fine with leaving my shoes at the door as to not drag dirt and germs in. I went for the massage, but we also did the infrared sauna. I'm not really a sauna person, but it was clean and warm. Lisa explained everything to us and provided a cold water to drink during the sauna treatment. The massage she gave was excellent and not oily as she used lotion which was good because I didn't want to be oily on the plane. I have been to fancy spas in places like Vegas. It definitely wasn't like that. It had more of a "homey" feel. But she got the job done and I feel relaxed and less tight as I get ready to board my plane. The tip was added in which I'm not used to, but it was about what I would have tipped anyway. I felt good about supporting a local female/vet/Black-owned business rather than a chain.

This was a dark room in the back of a strip mall suite that felt more like an office break room mixed with someone's living room. I have never had a pedicure where i sat on an old couch and put my feet in a bowl (except when my 8 yr old daughter does them)
I was chastised for not using all organic lotion etc, Lisa used old nail polish (of which there were few to choose from)and filed nails too short and crooked, she then painted on the skin around my nails and didn't remove it. As other reviews have mentioned, she was very aggressive with me, rude and then asked for a tip, which was beyond uncomfortable.
I have now read other reviews, and if you do so; you can literally feel the aggression in her replies. Awful experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We thank you for your visit and feedback, and from the bottom of our hearts, we care and strive for excellence. Your visit was well over 9 months ago. We would have appreciated getting your feedback at that time, more sooner than later, so that it doesn't seem questionable as to motive. You are correct in that in our treatment areas we purposefully choose candlelights & dimmer lighting for more serenity, like a typical spa would have. And as Always wth every customer, you were asked both during and at the end of your pedicure about your preferred nail shape & length, and only with your approval do we move to the next step. Just like we get the same client approval with brow waxing and other services before finishing. We would never not remove polish on the skin intentionally, and for any mistakes made, we would never have refused to correct. These were all very simple changes we could have very easily made, had it been brought to our attention before you left. The most important thing about our pedicures is that we have very high standards over & above state regulations. In fact, we are in good standing with the State of Texas, have been for almost 3 decades. And most clients appreciate that we do we our best to avoid toxicity in products, unlike the typical nail shop that you may be used to, which we are not. As professionals, it is our duty, ethically and as part of client care, to make recommendations. Recommendations are only and always, simply recommendations. That's our job. Again, while we sincerely appreciate any and all feedback, at the same time, we feel that your comments were a little harsh, untimely, and with questionable intentions. We understand that we may not be the spa for you, but for many other people, they love and appreciate our services and what we stand for.

Lisa was amazing, she's very knowledgeable regarding self care and nutrition. She is thorough and attentive, time was not a factor. I booked several services that turned into an unforgettable spa day. The environment was relaxing and the perfect definition of "Zen". I will definitely be booking again.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!.... We sent my mom to this place for her 60th birthday and my mom was very displease with the services. Per my mom the massage was great. However, the manicure was never completed and the pedicure was only half done because she didn't have nail polish remover. The facial left my mom's face itchy and she never recommended something to apply to her face to stop the itching. Refreshments were never offered and she spent 5 hours at the spa. We have requested money back for the half done pedicure, the never applied manicure and refreshments. We have not received any response. We will not be returning here and will be report this to the BBB.

We are truly saddened to hear that your mom’s spa day was not completely pleasant. However, since we’ve never spoken wth you, and have had no way to contact you, perhaps you can be open to hearing what really happened. The fact is, as you mentioned, your mom was enjoying her services and right after her “great” massage that she told you about, she suddenly chose to leave, only because her ride had come to pick her up. And she flew out so fast, never once asking about the completion of her services. Prior to the massage, we performed parts of the pedicure with the intention of completing the nail polishing afterwards, to include refreshments at the appropriate time reserved for. And That is why she had a “half done” pedicure as you say. We had every intention of providing all of the services but we could not force your mom to stay and receive them. So it was not us who stopped your mom from completing her services. Furthermore, when she arrived she told us that she had no time constraints, that she “had the whole day available for this”, so we actually gave her an additional service that day which was Free of charge as a birthday gift from our spa, and I wonder if she ever mentioned this to you? As for your mom’s face itching, she never once told us about this until 5 days later when, on a Sunday afternoon when the spa was not open, she sent us a text message about her skin. It seems to me that if this was an issue related to the facial, or an issue that really bothered her, she would not have waited 5 days to let us know. However, even on that Sunday, after hours, I personally made attempts to reach her by phone, unsuccessfully, so I responded to her via text. I offered for her to either send a picture or to come into the spa. She never did. And wth her leaving the spa so abruptly, without explanation or discussion, we could only assume that she was willing to forego the remaining completion of her pedicure, rather than waiting for 5 days before contacting us again. Like most spas, we have a cancellation policy. And when clients choose to forego remaining services, especially without ever, prior to leaving, expressing a desire or request of approval to complete them at a later date, we can assume they are satisfied with what has already been completed.

Ladies, if you live in the Dallas Fort Worth area and have had no luck googling a day spa that specializes in giving you the ultimate bum experience, search NO MORE - try "Love ThySelf" day spa.
I had googled countless hours: Booty facial, Fanny facial, Derrière facial, Bottom facial, Buttocks facial without much success!
Then I came across this sweet little gem of a spa! Lisa and Shay they both took such wonderful care of me.
I got the Yummy Buns Fanny Facial (derriere treatment 45 mins) and I added microdermabrasion with iSculpt.
My bum's complexion is the best it's ever been: smooth, soft and perky!
Ready for the beach I am....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I feel that I'm very open minded to many things and honestly attempt to give people the benefit of the doubt but this experience was was not what I expected at all. I've been to other homeopathic clinics and had colonic hydrotherapy done which were very efficient. This was my first time going to this "spa" and I was disappointed. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00pm and both Lisa and I were running behind and rescheduled for 3:00pm. I arrived at 3 and still had to wait. There are so many things that I could say about this visit from her being upset that someone had ridden with me there (didn't know that would be a problem), having to take my shoes off at the door and leave my cell phone at the desk, or how my session didn't start until 5pm. After my session was completed, I washed my hands. I was scolded for using 3 squares of paper towels instead of one. She literally removed the paper towel from hands although it was already wet. When I got ready to pay, I addressed that the price she quoted was different than that listed online. She said that she wouldn't honor that price because the website was old, it takes time to update, and she's no web designer so prices are subject to change. Then she asked me to leave a gratuity. I would have left after the first 30 minutes but her policy says that there are no refunds for any reason, and she already had my card info when I made my appointment. I felt her tone was aggressive at times and it was just an overall exhausting experience.
I gave 2 stars instead of one because I believe she does attempt to relay a message of trying different ways to improve overall health, but she should be less aggressive, more efficient, and honor the price posted.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3Business owner information

It seems apparent that you did not do your research on our business, nor did you read the preparation information that we always send in writing prior to a colonic. Had you done these things, you probably might not have been so “disappointed”. Because all of these minor things are mentioned at numerous encounters in our processes. Firstoff, any basic research would show that we are a holistic, plant-based, eco-conscious wellness spa & clinic. Both the prep email and website clearly let clients know that we do not wear shoes in our spa beyond a certain point. Also, the fee was given to you in the very first phone conversation, as well as in writing sent to you, which, as a requirement, you responded back wth your agreement of this, several days prior to you appointment. We can’t make you read or ask questions in advance, nor can we read your mind of understanding. And we did not force you to agree in advance. Therefore, when you came to the appt, never should you have become suddenly disturbed by the current fees. By the way, pls read what it says at the bottom of each page of our website, that we have a right to make changes in our business, which we had not changed pricing in 18 years, so when the pandemic hit, we had to. And no, we are not web designers. It will get done when God wills it to be. In the meantime, we’re busy saving lives and helping ppl to heal naturally, wth a 93-100% success rate. That is our purpose for being.
Furthermore, in that preparation email, we informed you well in advance that for that particular treatment, we may be running a few mins behind, due to the nature of the treatment itself, we have to honor the human body and it’s needs, which we cannot exactly control. So on that day you were told it would be no more 10 mins. However, you were running even further behind than that and could not get to your appt on time. So as a very kind & unusual gesture, we gave you addtl ‘extra’ time. Heck, we didn’t even charge you for that extra time which normally would have occurred. But very ungratefully, here you decide to complain. It’s not fair when we were so gracious to you.
In the checkout process, you were asked if you wanted to leave gratuity, yes, bc the software system does not allow gratuity to be added after a certain point in the checkout process. But here you’re making it seem as if someone tried to force you to act with gratitude, which they didn’t. It was merely a question.
Thank you for accurately recognizing that our goal and message is to “improve overall health”. We do and give whatever it takes to get results, which includes being human sometimes, understanding people just as they are, and sometimes giving little extras. So no, we are Not like some of those “more efficient” in & out places that you speak of but we’ll give you the shirt off our backs wth all the time you need when you might be at your lowest point.
And perhaps we are not the kind of place or people you need to work with; that’s fair, and we don’t want to work wth just anybody and everybody either. It needs to be a great fit. If you do not want to work wth an eco-conscious holistic spa, if you would rather be wasteful or support wasteful businesses, then that is your choice. Most often, we choose quality over cheap, to be most effective but never wasteful. It’s about human beings waking up from ignorance and self destruction, into a new sustainable consciousness. And if you felt my tone or anything about my person does not work for you, then logic says just go elsewhere rather than spilling perceptions of negativity all over the world about this one little “spa” (disrespectful of you to put this in quotes) and wellness center that is out here wholeheartedly trying to make a difference in this world in people’s quality of life, health & longevity. - Sarah A.Plano, TX2414Feb 18, 2018
Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE a good massage and pampering. I came here as a surprise gift from my boyfriend on Valentine's Day.
The massage, I received from Lisa was heavenly. I have had many massages in my lifetime, and never has someone put me to sleep! I was in a state of pure relaxation. What made this massage experience different from the others that I have had, was the way she took time to really evaluate my problem areas before the massage, and applied the correct pressure to my body throughout the whole session.
The atmosphere was entirely tranquil and healing. Lisa, is very much in tune with the well being of her clients, and makes them feel physically refreshed than the way they came in.
Although, I just met Lisa she already feels like an extension of family and I am very grateful to have had our paths crossed. I will definitely recommend her services, she is very professional, thorough, and listens to your concerns. The environment is extremely clean with beautiful, vibrant decor. Each room looks like a new healing experience. I am excited for my next massage session, and interested in trying her facial and colon cleansing packages. This family owned business is incredible because you can tell they truly care for you as the client and are not "money hungry" for your business. If your still searching for that amazing spa to completely unwind, no need to look any further, for Love Thyself Day Spa has everything you need!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sephora H.Chicago, IL111602Apr 28, 2017
I'm in love with this place! Lisa W. is the best, hands down! I received a facial and the service was in depth, relaxing, and made my skin glow! My boyfriend got his first facial today as well and he is glowing as well!
Months ago we were searching for a place where he could get a relaxing massage for his leg that underwent surgery in July of 2016. After the massage, he was immediately more flexible and less sore. She also introduced him to infrared therapy, which helps with pain, weight loss, inflammation, etc.
I appreciated that Lisa took time to listen to my individual skin needs and concerns. She is very knowledgeable about the body's holistic needs and seeing as though skin is the largest organ, our talks make me more cognizant of my day to day choices and how they affect my appearance.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah C.Manhattan, New York, NY02May 4, 2018
My stars are based more on the customer service aspect vs the treatment. The spa was very clean, organized, and well maintained. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about what she does. I received a colonic and she was detailed and really prepared me for the process. I honestly almost walked out before of the procedure, because of how uncomfortable she made me with her aggressive behavior.
Expect to be there for a few hours for this procedure for your first time. She spent over an hour basically telling me my "lifestyle" will make me sick and how much damage I am doing. Be prepared for her to push her vegan raw lifestyle onto you and she gets very irritated when you don't agree or praise her for her knowledge. Honestly, I know she means the best, but I have worked hard on my health and she made me feel uncomfortable. I took the day off to relax and get a few treatments, but I ended up feeling more stressed out and irritated then relaxed.
She is good at what she does, but really needs to work on her customer service and being more open minded to the fact that people don't want the lifestyle she has chosen for herself.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cynthia B.Main Street Townhomes, Plano, TX048Apr 24, 2019
