Advanced/Post-Surgical Lymphatic Sessions are performed by specially trained therapists with additional certification in post-operative and complex lymphatic and/or lymphedema care.
45 Minutes – Targeted + Surrounding Areas
Addresses the primary surgical area or region impacted by lymphedema while also treating surrounding lymphatic pathways to improve drainage and reduce congestion. Helps relieve pressure, support fluid rerouting, and enhance overall circulation during recovery or ongoing management.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is not a muscle-focused massage. It is a gentle, specialized technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, which supports immune function, fluid balance, and detoxification. Unlike deep tissue or tension-relief massage, MLD works just beneath the skin using light, rhythmic, and precise movements to encourage the natural flow of lymph fluid.
Because lymphatic work and muscle work serve different purposes and use very different pressure and techniques, they are typically not performed on the same area during the same session.
MLD may help:
Reduce swelling and fluid retention
Support lymphedema management
Decrease inflammation
Improve healing and tissue recovery
Soften and improve the appearance of scar tissue
Depending on your needs, sessions may incorporate manual techniques and supportive tools such as lymphatic cupping. Your licensed therapist will review your goals and health history during your initial consultation to determine the most appropriate approach.
