Bless this local yoga studio! They got me through the pandemic with great teachers and good vibes, even over Zoom!
I first started going to Left Coast in February 2019 at their Grand location. I used to go to different studios all the time through ClassPass and I loved it! Something got me coming back for more Left Coast classes throughout 2019, that by February 2020, I decided to purchase a 22-class card from Left Coast directly in support of them! I attend maybe 1-2 classes then boom, pandemic! Lol. Bummer!
Flash forward, summer 2021! In-person yoga is back! I loved that they surveyed the members - and members voted to require COVID-19 vaccination. I felt much more safe and comfortable practicing this way. I signed up for a few in-person classes (using my old class card) and I was able to convert some classes to Zoom classes. I did this all over email and the team was always super helpful! They even gave me a fair conversion - since in-person classes were more expensive, they gave me a conversion rate of 2 Zoom classes in exchange for 1 in-person class!
In late summer 2021, they started requiring masks again indoors - I tried practicing with a mask on and really didn't like it! Because of this, I ended up converting the rest of my class card to Zoom classes. The team was happy to do so. They were always super kind and understanding in extending the expiration on my February 2020 class card as well. Shout out to Senia who has always been sooo nice over email!
I finally used up my class card this year and even did a virtual membership the last two months. I look forward to staying connected with this studio and checking out more of their events/classes in the future (I'm vaxxed and relaxed, ready for in-person again! Lol). They plan retreats, have cool events like sound baths, and have fun classes like silent disco, which I've yet to try with them!
These guys are great - please go support them!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

I LOVE this studio! Left Coast was the best medicine after years of home practice during the pandemic. After my first class, I felt like I was home. Each teacher has their own unique style and they are so many class offerings each day. I appreciate the blissful experience I have had here. love you so much!

Classes have been great. In my first week I've attended two Power Yoga classes, and one Restorative Yoga class. All of the Instructors have been very friendly & supportive to someone who is new to yoga. My first class the Instructor made sure to learn all new students names and if we had questions or limitations, so I felt at ease right away. The students are friendly too, some are super advanced and others are beginners like myself, it's a very welcoming environment.
The Laurel location has clean bathrooms & changing rooms, extra mats, and other yoga supplies.
The heated Power Yoga class is warm but not uncomfortable ~80 - 85F; works up a great sweat.
Happy I signed up for the membership, since the classes have definitely helped increase flexibility , energy, and my overall exercise has been going better.
Class sign ups with website or FitDegree app is very easy.
Looking forward to trying out the Zumba class later this week. I'm also hoping they add Pilates at the Laurel location.

I have been coming to Left Coast since they opened 5 or 6 years ago. I started off with a Groupon and have never looked back! I literally haven't bothered going anywhere else in the Bay. Why would I? *THIS IS THE SPOT!* Instructors are warm, funny, so knowledgeable, and friendly. This is the first place I ever went to where laughing happened during class. We have fun. The vinyasa flow is amazing. And the teachers all have their unique styles and meditative/spiritual gems that they offer/infuse into each class.
Over the years I've had sooo many fave instructors who have come and gone, but rest assured- when I have walked into a class (before COVID) and there was a substitute instructor there, lo and behold, they would become a new favorite. That said, I cannot recommend enough Bridget and Odisa. I saw their faces more than anyone except my husband from April through November last year. While I can't make their classes as much Lael is also marvelous, and the owner Rachel Rajput is THEE BOMB! I also highly recommend Left Coast's yoga challenges. The year I did one it was genuinely life-changing.
Finally, this place is inclusive as hell and grounded in community. I like that instructors offer alternative poses, say things like "if X pose is not accessible to you..." and teachers have been so thoughtful & generous inn fielding questions after class because I have multiple prior injuries which is why I started doing yoga in the first place, after 2 surgeries. They have also held community events there and provide a safe space for LGBTQIA folks. Left Coast's zoom classes have been holding me down over the past year! So grateful and cannot recommend this place enough.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kat S.Berkeley, CA017Nov 12, 2021
Fantastic local studio! I've tried a variety of teachers at Left Coast and I highly recommend checking their classes out. Good heat level, challenging but accessible flows, and a welcoming community. I've tried classes at Laurel, Grand Lake, and at multiple outdoor locations - I have been quite happy with every single class I've taken. The Laurel studio is a real gem. A good sized space, clean, and comfortable to practice in. The padded floors and full mirror wall are great. Great classes, teachers, and a local small business.

This is LCPY's second studio in Oakland, run by the same folks who run the Grand Lake studio. The Laurel District studio is handsome, large with high ceilings, and great ventilation. Most importantly, it's run with by friendly staff and teachers who know how to make you feel welcome, while the teachers are happy to tailor their sequences to the needs in the moment. And plenty of parking, to boot!

I love Left Coast Power Yoga and the sense of community that is alive and well. I have attended several classes at this new location, as well as the Grand Ave location. I especially enjoy this location because of how spacious and clean the space is. Parking is very easy in the area as well. All the teachers are absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend trying out a class here, whether you're a beginner who's interested or a pro who's been doing yoga for years.

I love the alignment classes at Left Coast Laurel! Jacqui and Jeremy slow things down and create thoughtful, unique flows with twists and turns I've never experienced before. While I first went to all classes when LC first opened, I now seek out and highly recommend the slightly longer alignment ones--it's a good way to reset your practice and think less about the vinyasa and getting more into opening tight places in your body. (Especially helpful during Bay Area winters.) Also: Rachel, the owner, is incredibly kind and thoughtful, whether she's teaching, taking the class alongside you, or helping you out over email. Such a great community spot.
