• First time floater here, and I will be back. It was very interesting. I will say I was apprehensive given I do not like enclosed spaces, and wondered how this experience was going to be. At the least, "I would leave the lid open" I told myself. There is a little getting used to for sure and I am glad I got there early to not rush anything at all. You really want to go in with the mindset that you are ready to relax, and I used a few of those 8 mins it takes to fill the tub up (not part of the 60 mins) to get settled in the tub after showering. Everything is very clean, modern, almost futuristic, and really nice. The woman advised to at least "try the lid down to get the full experience" and I am glad she did. It does go completely dark too so you feel like you're in deep space (or what I imagine that feels like). I didn't shave that day but had the day before and for my skin that was still too soon so be sensitive to that. If in doubt, I say don't and just shave after the float. Also, a helpful hint is to set anything up for the shower (after) that you'll need because I went in my bag and rummaged around just a bit and you do get salt on things. So just stay away from any clothing you might need to get back into if you have to go back to work. This all takes a little getting used to but I felt totally relaxed after my hour, and imagine the next float will be even easier to settle in now that I know how it all goes.
