Before I started with HSC in 2022 I was trying to get use to my new normal. I was diagnosed with RRMS end of 2019 and I was on disability for 6 months. I had to make a lot of life changes. I knew I needed to start getting active because that's what my doctors wanted. I slowly started riding a stationary bike at home during the pandemic, started hiking with friends and then started working out one day a week at a friend's house. It was my friend George that spoke so highly of his trainer Anthony at HSC. He had been working out with him for a while and convinced me to stop in for a workout to see if I would be interested.
I have now been with HSC for a year & a half and it's the best decision I've ever made. From day 1 everyone has been so welcoming & encouraging. My trainer Anthony has been amazing. He listens to me & will alter workouts due to some of my health challenges. When I first started with him, my back was always hurting & I had major balance issues. He has helped me work through it all. He is so big on correctives & mobility and I can say I no longer have that back pain. My balance is so much better and I'm stronger than I have ever been. I never thought I would be squatting, deadlifting and bench pressing the weights that I do. I'm definitely an over thinker and I doubt myself a lot. Anthony will always encourage & push me because he believes in me and knows I can do it. I'm so much stronger & happier because of him. Thank you Anthony for all that you do. For always holding me accountable on my eating & workouts even when I want to fight you on it lol. If you want to be part of a great gym community, HSC is the way to go. Chase those 2024 goals.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Kristine O.Daly City, CA055Jan 31, 2024
Let's just say I've come a long way with my fitness journey thanks to Anthony! I have always struggled with wanting my body to look a certain way, and I was a cardio and core girlie who was never consistent. I realized I needed some type of structure with my workouts and I didn't know where to start.
In 2021, I messaged Anthony. He scheduled a few 1on1 sessions to work on form and programmed me through an app. He will always check in to see how the workouts went and ask if he needs to make any changes to your macros or plan. He's very knowledgable with his training and can back it up with science/research :) After a few years of training with Anthony, my mental health has improved, my confidence grew, and I feel stronger. I live in Daly City and I commute all the way to San Jose just to see Anthony, but it's ALWAYS worth the drive! I also met a few people who commute 30+ minutes just to see him, too.
In addition to 1 on 1 and private group sessions, Anthony hosts boot camps throughout the year and I look forward to those days because of the community at HSC. It's fun being around people who want to see you succeed and push yourself, while being safe. Thank you Anthony and HSC for providing a fun and safe space for people to reach their fitness goals!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica K.San Francisco, CA46382Jan 26, 2024
I've been training at HSC for a year now, specifically with Ant. I signed up thinking I'm finally going to lose weight and achieve the body I've been wanting for years. Although I have yet to reach my body goals, I have noticed by body changing, clothes fitting better and I've been feeling better overall. Its a journey.. I've made some lifestyle changes for the better and learned that consistency over time is key!
With Ant I've learned that the number on the scale does not matter that much.. its about getting stronger, how you're moving and most importantly - how you're feeling!
Ant programs my online workouts weekly and alters the program as needed. Ant's main focus is to protect our body.. he focuses on flexibility, mobility and safety before lifting heavy. He asks us to record our compound lifts to ensure we are moving with proper technique to prevent injuries when we lift heavier. Ant is easily reachable to talk about how a certain exercise is going and how we are feeling.
Regardless if it is a one on one or a group workout, I always look forward to training at HSC! Everyone is supportive and is always excited for each other's success and progress. I truly love the community at HSC.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robin P.Morgan Hill, CA031Apr 9, 2024

Before coming to Hyper Strength and Conditioning, I really was not confident in weight lifting. It had been over 10 years since I had strength trained as a college athlete. Sadly my athletic career ended early because of a weight lifting accident. After slipping a disc in my back, I was told I would not be able to squat again, which made me afraid to try any type of strength training.
Some of my friends shared their positive experience at HSC and encouraged me to give it a try. I have now been with the gym for over 6 months, and I truly feel that my fear of weight lifting has been healed. Anthony Perez has been an instrumental part of my growth. Whenever we train, he makes me feel safe in every exercise and always prioritizes how my body is feeling. He has empowered me to want more for myself and reach my fitness goals. I am doing exercises and seeing results that I didn't think were possible because of his coaching, expertise and support. If you are feeling nervous or hesitant to try strength and conditioning, I promise Anthony will take care of you.
The last thing I'll say about HSC is that's a truly fun and inclusive environment. When you join the gym, it feels like you're joining a welcoming and authentic community. All of the trainers and staff take the time to get to know you, which is so rare when you join a commercial gym. I cannot recommend HSC and Anthony enough!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Deanna C.Goleta, CA171152Feb 17, 2024
I've been working out at HSC with coach Nicole for a little over two months. It has been AMAZING. Currently recovering from an Achilles tendon repair and Nicole has been so mindful and intentional with our workouts. I am building muscle. Feeling stronger and feel all the correct muscles working. She's also funny and makes workouts not feel so dreadful.
I've also joined the Olympic lifting classes that are led by coach Kolin and it has been going well. He's super patient and kind.
In summary, everyone at HSC is supportive and genuinely caring. I don't feel like a sore thumb. It's all good vibes!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Danish S.MONTE VISTA, CA0173Jan 9, 2024
This is a wonderful gym and Anthony is by far the best coach I have ever had. Working with him has really had a huge positive impact on my life and I feel this review is long overdue.
I have accumulated several problems over the years from injuries and constant computer work. Herniated disc in lumbar; my doctor from 7 years ago told me to take it easy and stick with PT. Basically he treated me like an old man in my 30s :) Told me to stay away from strength training or anything that puts a load on my spine. The thing about our spines is that... if you do nothing to strengthen it, it gets soooo much worse as you near your 40s. This is from my personal experience.
There were several other structural issues in my hip, upper body etc. that Anothny caught in the initial sessions. I couldn't even hold a plank for 10 seconds or do a sit up. Pretty much EVERYTHING triggered severe pain in my lower back.
We spent about a month doing body weight exercises to strengthen the core, obliques, hamstrings etc. and then went into strength training. I was able to PR 210 squat, 220 deadlift! I'm now consistently and quite easily hitting 155lb x2 sets of 5 reps of paused squats. It's unbelievable actually, specially given how many issues I had. Prior to every session, Anthony runs me through warm up sessions to make sure we get it right given the number problems I have. He is awesome honestly, I'm blessed to have finally found someone like him. I think he also knows Yoga but I haven't asked him yet. Some of the stretches he custom made for my condition and I swear they are awesome.
I'm now able to do all sorts of core exercises without back pain: crunch, jack knives, bird dog, dead bugs, planks, one legged bridged variations, you name it. The normal variations obviously caused me pain so he prescribed modified versions for me. Over time with practice, the back and core muscles got stronger and now it's so much stronger. Like if your abs have been jelly for most of your life and they get strong, it's a new world in terms of improvement in quality of life.
All of their trainers are awesome. One guy is top 10 powerlifter in the US in his class. They know their stuff. Strongly recommend this gym!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Leslie I.San Jose, CA32Jan 17, 2024
Started my fitness journey here at HSC with Coach Ant right after my first pregnancy and I'm so glad I did! Been working with him for about 4 years and even through my second pregnancy! He's definitely very knowledgeable in his expertise. He's not your typical 24 hour trainer just creating a workout jsut to sweat. He makes you work and all his workouts have a purpose! If you're looking for good vibes and GREAT COACHES, come through to HSC!

I've been to many gyms and this one felt like everybody had a mission to be better, mentally and physically. Either a trainee or trainer, everyone there was very supportive.
I worked with Nicole for about 6 months and my goal was to get my strength and agility back to an athletic foundation and needless to say we succeeded without a concern/injury.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
