Q:
I want to book a new patient appointment for tomorrow ? Should I purchase the special online for $30? Is the 30$ special a full treatment?
A:
Yes. That way you can get to know Mooki who is a wonderful man who does the acupuncture and decide if you like it or not. I've been going to him for awhile and I've found it very beneficial.

I am so disappointed that after purchasing a package, the terms have now been changed, leaving it worthless. I avoided going places during COVID, but now that I am able to go, my prepaid credits are virtually worthless.

I wanted to leave a better review but here it is. Healing house has a great newcomer package with great value. Massages are great. Receptionists seem to rarely be at the desk which is a minor inconvenience. I got a facial from Lisa with disastrous results - painful peeling skin and a red rash. I was offered a full refund which was awesome but Lisa had no idea what she put on me despite noting during treatment that I was having a bad reaction to something she put on my face. She then sent me home with the same product she said might have caused all of this in the first place. I think the professionalism and sense of responsibility as a healer wasn't there. I would not go to Lisa for a facial - she's really nice but you want someone who knows what she puts on your face and notes if you have a bad reaction, and shows up on time (she's been late every time I went to see her).

Dear Loralei,
I want to start by expressing how genuinely sorry I am to hear about the negative experience you had after your classic facial. Your well-being and satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us, and it's disheartening to learn that you had a bad reaction to the treatment.
First and foremost, I apologize for any discomfort or inconvenience this has caused you. Our team takes every precaution to ensure the safety and comfort of our clients during and after treatments. While adverse reactions are rare, they can happen due to various factors, including individual skin sensitivities and allergies.
I would like to assure you that we take your feedback seriously and are committed to addressing this issue. We will be reviewing our product ingredients and protocols to determine if there was any potential allergen or irritant that might have caused your reaction. Additionally, we will be reinforcing training with our esthetician to ensure she is vigilant in identifying any signs of possible adverse reactions during treatments.
I understand that your experience has left you dissatisfied and concerned about the quality of our services. If you are willing, I would like to offer you a complimentary consultation with our Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Miriam Levering, to assess the condition of your skin and provide guidance on how to manage and heal your skin post-reaction. Your well-being is our priority, and we are dedicated to helping you through this situation.
Once again, I apologize for any distress this has caused you. We value your feedback as it helps us improve our services and prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. Please reach out to us at (480) 463-4685 or reception@healinghouse.com to arrange a consultation or discuss any concerns you may have. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address this matter and work towards a solution.
Sincerely,
Muki Ramsey,

I've been coming to Healing House for several years now. I started with a massage and learned about accupuncture. Muki has been doing my accupuncture and I can't say enough how good it has done me. I started out with bone on bone knee pain after being in healthcare for 40 years on my feet all the time. I now don't need to take harmful drugs to ease my pain. I also enjoy taking the meditation classes. It has helped me become less stressed, focused, and happy in general.

Everyone at Healing House is extremely empathetic and are amazing healers! I have done a massage with Anthony and acupuncture/cupping with Seva and both services were outstanding with positive effects.

Had a few facials done here. Nice facility with lots of potential. Bad administrative practices. I was overcharged $75 when I had an extra credit on my account. I called the healing house and the number on my bank statement but never got a call back. My aesthetician reached out to the owner who never got back to me. Would of been a reoccurring client since I live in the apartments facing the complex but oh well

Thank you so much for your feedback, Michelle. I'm so sorry about the confusion around this charge on your account! I wasn't aware of this problem until now -- I'll definitely look into any internal office miscommunication. We certainly care very much about handling these matters correctly. And I would be more than happy to correct the problem for you, but I'll need you to reach out to me directly so that I can find your account in our system. Please email me at muki@healinghouse.com. Thank you, and I do apologize once again.

Anthony has an amazing gift to find all my sore spots! He pays attention to the detail of my body and knows the proper technique and pressure I need to relieve tension.
I suffer from severely knotted shoulders and low back pain.
Anthony is one of very few therapists who know how to get me the pain relief I need. I've been coming to him for years!
I love his aromatherapy oil variety he offers, the options between lotions, and coconut oil. If you're looking for the best therapeutic massage in Scottsdale, this is your guy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lawrence K.Grant Hill, San Diego, CA051Feb 10, 2023

I was searching for a massage due to the tension headaches and insomnia I was getting from chronic pain for weeks. I scheduled with Anthony and he absolutely changed my life. So kind and caring all around the board, but truly did wonders for me. I left feeling so great and so comfortable. I actually deeply slept for the first night in months. I cannot express how much I recommend this place. I will absolutely be back!

I had been a client of Zen Medicinals for acupuncture by Muki before it became Healing House, and the experience was very positive. I visited this time (two times actually) and saw Seva for acupuncture for lower back pain. He was very nice but I have to say that that the acupuncture did absolutely nothing for me. He recommended a course of treatment involving increased visit frequency but I would need more of an indication that it was going to be successful to consider that. I gave it four stars because I did have two very nice naps on the acupuncture table, but I can't justify the cost to go back.

I had a two hour massage that was pretty good but she didn't introduce herself so I have no idea what her name is. I asked her to work on my left shoulder but she only worked on my right shoulder. She didn't seem like she was having a great day. Her energy wasn't happy. She seems annoyed that she was working. So I'm sure my two hour massage wasn't what she wanted to be doing. Her negative energy rubbed off onto me but I was excited to clear it with the 90 min facial ahead.
That was a disaster. I wanted no dermaplaning and extra facial massage, per her recommendation to fill time. I called ahead and spoke with her about this ahead of time before booking my appt. So we discussed that in the treatment room. She did zero facial massage. Zero. She did 25 min of a very interesting take of a massage under my back and in my armpit. Since I just had a 2 hr deep tissue, I was pretty sore. The not so fluid massage technique was bizarre and kinda painful. She was moving me and jerking me around. I was worried I'd leave with a pinched nerve. Because it's a facial chair leaned back and not a comfortable massage/facial bed, it was wobbly and not relaxing.
She applied cleanser on my dry skin and removed it with damp cotton rounds. Repeated again. I think she forgot to make hot towels so she quickly dunked a towel in a bowl of Luke warm/cool water and then applied the dripping towel to my face. Held it there for about 60 Seconds. It only made me colder and more uncomfortable as the water dripped under my neck and into my hair. The towel also smelled like maybe it was sitting in around food. As she held it over my face for a minute or two, I could smell the scent of maybe the towels sitting in a car or a kitchen. The cold soaking wet towel she pressed on my face smelled like food. Not good food. Old food. Therefore making me feel like I was in her home, for an in home facial treatment. Not what I signed up for.
I asked for extractions of some new tiny blackheads on the side of my face and she said she had no problem extracting, but I did sense some doubt in her voice. Never a good sign. With hesitation, "uh, Well is that what you want?" I replied, "yes".
When we got to extractions, she just poked and FLICKED my skin with a lancet(needle) over and over again for 20min. Which was incredibly painful and I could feel my skin getting inflamed and possibly bleeding. I told her if she wasn't actually getting anything removed, if she could please stop. She replied, "oh yeah, I think I should stop. I'm only making it worse". Oh boy. NOT ONE EXTRACTION WAS MADE IN 20 min of using that needle.
The facial chair is so uncomfortable that I started to fidget. She asked if I was getting uncomfortable because other people have said the chair was uncomfortable too? I told her my back was starting to ache and I should have had my 2 hour massage after my facial. She said, "well I'll hurry this along so we can get you off this table. She only did 5 steps and 1 of the steps was the strange 25min massage under my shoulders from the side where she jerked me around on the wobbly chair and about 2-3 min of wait time in between each step. The next day I am left with clogged pores, scabbed/scarred skin, inflammation, dry and irritated skin. I called the next day to let owner know because it wasn't ok and I hope she isn't doing that to other people's skin. I asked to speak with a manager or the owner. The front desk manager apologized for my experience and said she would let Muki know.
I didn't want to leave a Yelp or Google review as it could really be bad for business, but I haven't heard back from the owner and it's been 2 weeks! When I have bleeding, scabbed, and scarred skin and the owner doesn't care to contact me.... ok. Thats a shame.
I have so many credits to use and I don't want to use them because I'm afraid I'll come out feeling worse or left with worse permanent scarring. I really had high hopes for my spa day but it really ruined my month. My skin is only worse than before I walked through those doors.
I want my money refunded for all the credit I have left and the facial that tore up my skin. Not cool.
*update.... I realized I had already left a 3 star review in 2017 due to unprofessional nature of the front desk letting me know they were firing the esthetician so they couldn't book me with her. So I guess I was waiting for them to correct some kinks and must have forgot I tried coming for a facial with them years back. Wild. Never again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Amanda,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. I'm so sorry you had a negative experience with our massage therapist and aesthetician. And I do apologize for not getting back to you sooner about your concerns - I had to travel out of town the day after your visit for a serious family health emergency and my mind simply lost track of my work obligations. There were many rather shocking problems you reported in your complaint, and I have done my best to investigate each one to find out how we can make corrections based on your feedback. Certainly, we will revisit training on how to greet a client - your massage therapist has a quiet demeanor, but in my many years of working with her I have never known her to show up with an ounce of negativity - you may have misread her. We actively work on making sure to keep the clients requests at the forefront of care - I'm so sorry the wrong shoulder was worked on, and that your request for a facial massage was overlooked. Please don't be shy to ask your healers during a session to remember your requests, if you observe them to have forgotten one of your needs - they are human, too, and sometimes they need reminders. As for the towel, that one is a mystery - we have professional laundering services that deliver medical-grade cleanings for all our linens, and there's never a shortage or a need to reuse linens - I've never encountered that problem before, and I couldn't find a single thing to correct about our linens when I inspected the ones we use for skin care. They all smelled very clean with no odor at all. But of course, we will keep looking into that process. Finally, I spoke with your aesthetician about your extractions. She mentioned that the two of you discussed the fact that your skin blockages were very deep, which required getting under the skin, and that she was able to get one to release, easily, but that the other one took a bit of work and would not express. She chose not to fight for it out of concern for your skin, and she was frank with you about that. A certain amount of scabbing is normal after a deep extraction, but please keep us posted on your healing process. On a final note, I hope you can see by the many five star reviews on this public forum that we do really good work, and that we sincerely care about our clients. The negativity in your review was so far outside the ordinary that it really took us by surprise. I can only apologize from the depths of my heart for your experience - we will strive to learn from your review where we can.Jun 8, 2019Previous reviewWent here once and had. Good experience. Signed up for the membership and have lots of credits to use. Muki is awesome!!! Charmaine, the receptionist, not so much. First I was surprised she shared information about them firing their esthetician that morning. Very unprofessional. Also seemed annoyed when I asked questions about facial or body treatments. As an individual, I strive to achieve the most happiness out of life. Even if you don't know what others are going through. Simple kindness goes a long way. This being a place of healing, negativity is unnecessary. Hope her attitude changes. Was really discouraging and probably won't go in for a while.
