Glow smells nice, looks and feels very clean, and everyone seems to know what they're doing. They are kind enough to offer refreshments and sandals, and magazines (that are not outdated) as well which are nice added touches, and the over the counter products that they sell arn't so bad either (which says a lot about a place).

I go there for waxing mostly but i have had other things done as well.
Having extremely sensitive skin, I've tried so many different ways or removing hair and been to so many different places to find the right person and cleanest spa I can.
I think this is the one in Barrie.
Recommendations: make sure staff is awake before they begin working (had a sleepy pedicure once that wasn't worth the price), and on that note, maybe make a booking for after 10:30!

Been here MANY times, even bring friends and both of my daughters. Always loved it. However, I got my last expensive shellac French glow pedicure and it was peeling and flaking off within a week. We went on vacation so I couldn't call and try and get it fixed. Now I'm back. I called and left a message. Someone called me back today and said there is nothing they can do, next time get an extra coat of polish? Wtf. I said my pedicure was $150 plus tip I promise you if you don't make it right I won't come back again! She blamed the ocean which I never went In, or the pool chemicals but it was flaking off before I left and I didn't have time to fix it before my flight. People get their nails done all summer and shellac is supposed to last. They weren't willing to help or fix it which is awful considering they are the most expensive spa here In Barrie. Business doesn't grow from unhappy people and I figured someone else might appreciate the heads up before spending that much $ for a pedicure. Not impressed. Won't be back

French pedicure lifted and cracked first week. Looks like crap for $150!! Plus tip!

I have tried this spa multiple times, I want to love it because it's beautiful and has so much potential but the services are just so lacking. I had one facial, I ended up covered in oil. COVERED. Another facial that was cut short time wise. Then the worst massage of my life. And now, I went for a Blow Out... easy, no big deal. The stylist messed up drying my bangs again, no big deal. I asked her to trim them a bit and add a bit more hair to the bang, she cut a HUGE chunk of my hair to create more bangs and now my head looks like a mushroom.
I am so frustrated & annoyed. It cost well over $100 for a god awful blow out.
The owner of this Spa needs to really get on her employees for the poor service. It's really unacceptable.

Horrendous customer service. Sold my spouse hundreds of dollars in gift cards for a specific service knowing they don't accept gift card for medical spa services. Booked the appt online which required a $50 credit card deposit, they will not allow deposits paid by gift card. I then called to confirm the service and was told I could not use the gift cards. My husband called and requested a refund due to being sold gift cards that are now not usable and was refused. Terrible ethics and service- stay away.

Permanent make up, really bad job to draw the line of my lips. I asked for a straight line and got each side line of my lips different drawing, not eve or straight. it's really frustrating to pay lots of money and get an awful job. Kim the owner did the wor.

I came to Glow spa from out of town because 1 of my sister in laws lives close by and is not always able to travel. I emailed, called and spoke to employees while setting up the appointment. I was provided details about what each service - manicures and pedicures for the adults and princess manicure and princess pedicure for my 10 year old niece. When we were there I had a lovely time, I was treated well, service was great and I loved my manicure and pedicure!
My sister and niece left the spa a few minutes before I did and when I got outside my niece was in tears, and showed us multiple fingers that had been cut and were bleeding. It took us a while to get the story from her, she explained that her aesthetician had "cut all around her fingers and it hurt."
I called Glow Spa the next morning to get an explanation as this was not part of the service we had asked for. Claudia returned my call the same day. She told me that she had spoken to my niece's aesthetician and she explained that she had asked my 10 year old niece if she could cut the cuticles - without explaining what that meant - because it would make the polish look better. Claudia further explained that my niece agreed and was given nearly a full adult manicure. I explained that since this was my niece's first time and she was nervous - something my sister also shared with the aesthetician- we purposefully did not book or want her to receive any adult services. Claudia again stated that my niece consented to the services. At this point I pointed out that a 10 year old cannot consent and that there were 5 adult family members feet away and not a single one of us was consulted or asked. Claudia did ask if we would like to come back for another princess manicure, I explained that my niece is now terrified and we live over an hour away so that was not possible. At this point, Claudia repeated several times how my niece should be happy she received so many extras with her manicure and that she had agreed to have them done. I became frustrated with the conversation and had to end it. Glow Spa did not take accountability for the fact that they preformed services that were not requested and harmed my niece. I appreciate the fact that they were trying to do something nice but an aesthetician should never make decisions about a child without consulting the adult that is there. All I was looking for was an explanation, acknowledgment of wrong doing and apology. The offer to redo the manicure would have been nice after these things, but Glow Spa demonstrated that I cannot trust that they will preform services requested and not hurt my niece. Would not trust this spa with children ever again.

this review was hard to rate because i like the actual spa itself. and the staff are really friendly. and the eyelash extensions have always been on point.. however with a "mix up" its left me feeling a little tricked.
they recently brought in a dr who does injections. there was a promo first 40 people got injections for 7.99 instead of the normal price of 10$. i booked my appointment and asked a few times if it would be the 7.99 and how would i know if by the time i get to my appointment itd be over 40 people. i was told i was under the 40 people and would forsure get the deal. when i arrived the dr went over how many injections and price. i wasnt even thinking that the price she gave me didnt add up if they were 7.99 so i said thats affordable and away we went. i was never told it wasnt promo pricing anymore.
today i looked at my bank statement to see i was charged and it seemed a bit high, so i called back to tell them i was actually over charged to be told i didnt get the promo price because i wasnt within the 40 first people.. first i found it a little hard to believe that 40 people have already booked and seen her within a few days but then i started to feel a bit upset that i drove from mississauga when i couldve gone anywhere because most dr's charge 10$, i thought i was getting a deal and if i liked her and it looked good . i could've gone back. when i called she only gave me a 25$ credit which is nothing compared to being over charged over 60$ and 25$ is 2 units of botox which is nothing! wont even show. so im supposed to be returning to glow day spa for my lashes with my sister before she leaves for cuba next week but i cant even use that credit towards them because the dr is her own show out of that spa.. a bit disappointed. she was nice but i dont like feeling tricked. it was never said that it was 10$ a unit or i wouldve noticed and mentioned the promo price i was told. i was told the price it would be for 25 units and i didnt figure out the math in my head that i was being charged 10 not 7.... disappointing to say the least. i didnt think this spa ran that way and i really used to like going there.. atmopsphere there is still great and the reception was really helpful and did the most they could on their end..mix up's happen but hopefully it wasnt just a trick to get people in..

Day 3 of botox and no change ...Lines still there

I have gone to GLOW Spa before and enjoyed their Green Science Facial. Pedicure and manicures were ok. The manicure station is very hard to get in and out of.

Recently I decided to go in for the "works" waxing, manicure pedicure and facial.

      Waxing - was fine.

Manicure - Very uncomfortable station. Every single person who came in (including staff) struggled with the chairs. My manicure was okay - definately not worthy of the extra cost for the upgraded one - simply just parrifin wax. I noticed while getting my pedicure my nails were bumpy (I had gotten shellac) when I showed the girl (I had thought it was wax) she seemed surprised and helped me try to wipe it off. Eventually they peeled, I showed her (no apology) and simply asked "do you want me to redo them?" Well - yes. She said "I THINK I can do it." Right there at that moment they lost my business forever. She was a nice girl but truly didn't seem to value the work she did, I would have been moritifed if I was her. As I was getting them redone she kept sayng she didn't trust the "curing" machines and her collegue next to me said (like I knew nothing about shellac) that perhaps it was the oil in my nails. I have been getting shellac (at many spas - around the world even!) for years I have NEVER had a problem. I remained zen. She then recommended to her colleague to try another machine as there has been trouble with other ones. Finally - about 30 min later it was fixed.

Pedicure - ok. Again not worth the extra cost for the special one.

Facial - ok. I have had it better there. Worst part was I booked 90 minutes they did less than an 1 hour. This is where the service just blew my mind. I went up to the counter to check out and ensure I wasn't charged for the 90 minutes or the extra shellac. The lady at the front desk was clearly not happy I was questioning anything. When I explained the mistake they had made with my nails - no sorry, or apologies - she just said - we only charged you once. Good service wouldn't have charged me anything but whatever I am not going to argue as long as it was fixed. I then mentioned the 60 min facial (in face it was less than 60 min) verus 90 minutes. The lady who did my facial was standing there and said "Oh, my bad. People don't nomrally ask for 90 minutes so I didn't notice" That was it. No sorry. No accountability - clearly MY fault for asking for something that not a lot of people ask for. The front desk clerk continued to be unimpressed. I paid and got the heck out. Never to return!

Sad. It has potential. But overpriced and staff (for the most part) aren't that qualified to ask for those prices. And frankly even if they were, their service skills are subpar. I see it in a lot of spas, who think they are cooler than the city they are in. When the places that are actually cool - take BD North - are cool b/c they are about customer service and work with their team to always improve their skills. Fingers crossed they open a spa portion soon! But there are other GREAT places around Barrie -that have GREAT service.
