• Because the place was easy to find, spotlessly clean, quiet, and the staff friendly and helpful. It was a concept I had only read about and quite unfamiliar, but I was immediately put at ease and everything was explained without making me feel ignorant or reluctant to ask questions. Everything I needed was provided. The float itself was just as the information I had read and been told said it would be and after a few minutes, I felt warm, relaxed, peaceful, and safe. All my usual aches and pains were gone, although I did find my right arm and shoulder hurt unexpectedly. I would like to try floating with my arms by my sides next time to see if that makes any difference, but I also wonder whether it might be an indication of something such as poor posture, excessive computer/iPad use, a “parking building” for tension, the side I usually sleep on, or something physiological in me - something just not particularly well-aligned. It will also be interesting to find out whether floating helps over a period of time. The soles of my feet are one of my most consistent and annoying aches and I was acutely aware of how comfortable they felt in the tank. It was a big contrast and great relief. My only comment on any possible improvement would be slightly warmer shower water. I understand why it can’t be really hot, but a bit warmer would have been more comfortable for me.
