The Acne Spot

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made for myself! I have struggled with bad acne since I was in middle school, and have tried absolutely everything to clear it. I decided to try out The Acne Spot after being hesitant about going to an esthetician for a while now, and I can honestly say it was the best decision of my life. Not only is all of the staff amazing and kind, but the products and the support they provided me through my clear skin journey, was better than I could have asked for!

My skin cleared so fast, and I am always excited to go to my appointments. Crizel is such an amazing esthetician, and the sweetest person! She was just as excited about my clear skin journey as I was.

If you are struggling with acne or any skin issues, I couldn't recommend this place enough! It absolutely changed my life for the better!!

My skin was in serious need of some love and care and I'm so glad The Acne Spot was recommended to me! I've had three treatments so far and have been on an at-home regimen for roughly the past five weeks. My skin has cleared up so quickly and it already feels so much healthier; the difference a few weeks with a tailored skin routine can make is crazy!

Also, the staff are all very kind. Every time I've visited, I've been greeted warmly by Alicia. All of my treatments have been with Crizel and she is truly amazing! She is very attentive throughout the treatment, frequently checking in to make sure I'm still comfortable. While acne treatments can be a little intense for some, with Crizel, mine have been painless and even relaxing. I've had only positive interactions with every staff member I've met there.

The space itself is very well-designed, clean, and inviting. Between the comfort of the space and the friendliness of the employees, the vibes here are great!

REVIEW UPDATE (1 YEAR LATER!):
I'm elated with how far my skin has come since I started seeing Lan (my esthetician) at The Acne Spot a year ago. I can't thank her enough for helping me through this journey and I'm still shocked at how amazing my skin is now compared to when I started.

I want to say I was pretty much "acne free" within 7-8 months. At that point, I was promoted to the Clear Skin Program from the Acne Program, where we worked on my next goals, which was to reduce pigmentation and improve texture of my skin. Since then, Lan curated a new plan for me for my visits moving forward and now more than ever my skin is glowing and I am consistently being complimented on my skin by friends and family.

I'm officially moving into the Taylor'd Skin side where we will continue to work on my skin texture and overall skin health (plus more "relaxing" spa-like treatments (not that my acne treatments visit before weren't relaxing!). I'm also using/incorporating new products that Lan has recommended based on my own personal goals with my skin and I trust her completely.

The entire team at The Acne Spot/Taylor'd Skin have become friends to me and I'm always excited to see them and chat with them! I highly, highly recommend these guys. Do not hesitate!

P.S. I also love following them on social media and participating in their fun giveaways + skin facts. Lan even helped me with color-matching for beauty/foundation products that they offer for acne prone skin at the studio.

I started my journey with Acne Spot a few weeks ago. After trying everything else in the book to get rid of my acne (I.e curology, going to see a dermatologist - none worked), I finally learned about the benefits of seeing an esthetician and getting facials instead. I found Acne Spot through a google search and they had great reviews so I decided to take a leap of faith.

I arrived at the office and was very impressed by the facility. The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. Right away I felt like I was welcomed. They always ask at every visit if I need to use the restroom or need water and they just take really good care of you.

My esthetician is Lan. I had my consult with her and she was so patient with me and my questions. Always had a friendly demeanor and really educated me about their acne products and what this journey would look like for me. We also connected so much on a personal level and I'm just so happy about that b/c I know the importance of having an esthetician who really understands your skin and can connect with you.

They provide you with a complete and comprehensive skin care guide and routine for when you go home. So far I love all of their products and my skin has really loved it. I am currently going through a light "purging" phase but even then my skin is so hydrated, plump, and I can just tell it's working! I will definitely report back as my journey continues :)

Another shoutout to Nicole, my esthetician while Lan was on vacation. I love her so much! We also connected so much and she recommended this amazing hydrating facial for me and my skin was glowing afterwards.

I have full faith in all the staff and estheticians here after my experience with Lan and Nicole! Thank you both so much.

This place was suggested to me on Reddit, I took my mom here for her birthday - we each got the hydration treatment I think , we have sensitive skin so we didn't want anything too crazy, mom LOVED THE HYDRATION JELLY MASK! I didn't get it but might try it next time. It was very relaxing. Kind of like having someone do a face massage for you.

One thing that did concern us was that all the girls that worked there looked like they've had treatments that messed up their skin, they had marks in their face, we almost walked out seeing that bc we didn't want that to happen to us! We have very clear skin with no acne.

5 stars for sure! I came here looking for a better solution for acne having been on antibiotics for over a year. I went through the whole acne program and I am very happy with my clear skin now! It took a good 6 months for my skin to clear. Megan was (and still is :) amazing at explaining products to me, adjusting home routines, and tailoring each appointment to my skin. She's so kind and gentle!

I love all of the staff here, the environment is so welcoming and relaxing. It's nice to feel safe when you're insecure about your skin. If you're considering coming here go all in! My skin purged in the first few months and looked the worst it'd ever been, but stick it out! It all cleared and is consistently clear and controlled now. Now it's the best it's ever been. I moved over from acne spot to the taylord skin studio side and love that I still receive personalized skin care with Megan here too :)

I've been going to the Acne Spot for over 4 years and I love it. I go monthly with their membership program even thought it's a half hour drive for me! They help keep my acne under control and help me "age gracefully," as they say. Thorough service, and very cutely decorated. Thanks Acne Spot!

I started my acne program 4 months ago and today I just finished my 9th treatment I can't explain the emotions and excitement I am feeling! My skin has gotten so much better not just skin my confidence within myself has changed. I have been struggling with cystic acne for 3 years now and I'm grateful for the help of my estheticians I have been seeing these last few months that have helped and made me feel so happy with my skin today. This clinic and the staff are wonderful! As soon as you walk in you are greeted and welcomed by a very warm front office staff and seated in a spotless clinic. I started coming in mid August when my skin was incredibly broken out and irritated. I did my initial appointment and follow-up with Nicole. She is warm and kind and took her time explaining the program, answering questions, and giving me access to lots of resources. Due to my schedule changing, I then started seeing Megan for my facial appointments. She has been so, so wonderful! She has gradually progressed my skin care routine and provided lots of education and encouragement. The experience of the facial is quite relaxing and I look forward to it every other week. I am now transitioning to the Taylor'd side of the clinic as my acne has resolved and we are now focusing on maintenance and continuing to make my skin look great!

A little over 3 months of working with this team and my skin looks and feels the best it has ever been. The products are gentle but very effective while being much more affordable than a lot of other brands that I've tried in the past.

I would recommend this clinic to anyone! You'll be very well taken care of here!

Ohhh my gosh
It's refreshing to see a honest, local facial center here in North County! Love you are located in San Marcos! And the events and specials are just amazing! I love the Hydra Fusion Facial on the menu! Nicole is the sweetest, best business woman running a professional salon for healthy glowing skin care. We all want perfect, soft, glowing youthful skin and now we have a reputable spa like facial salon to go to and be cared for and pampered. Oh and they have a focus on acne, how awesome is that!!! Now when your feeling vulnerable, insecure and embarrassed by your acne, Nicole and her Team are here to help!!!
